Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Upon arrival we were very warmly welcomed by Pamela, and we could not wish for a more helpful and nicer host. When she understood that we are Dutch (her son is married to a Dutch girl and lives in the Netherlands) we immediately and spontaneously got an upgrade to a complete equipped and very spacious, clean apartment with private parking right outside the door. Fantastic!

Date: Friday December 8 Time: Afternoon arrival Duration of stay: 1 night Upon arrival at the resort we received keys for adjacent rooms: 28 Poolside and 28 Treetops. After unlocking the door to 28 Treetops I immediately came to the realisation that the room had not been serviced! There were objects left behind, the bed was unmade and there was dirt on the bed. Somewhat dismayed I returned to Reception to voice my concern. I was very polite and understanding. As my business partner had ducked out to get some provisions for our stay and had left me his key I was advised to try to access 28 Poolside room to see if this was acceptable?  I unlocked the door to 28 Poolside only to find it was still occupied which immediately made me feel very uncomfortable! By this time my business partner had returned and I informed him of the situation. We both went to reception to try and find a suitable solution to the problem. We were polite and considerate in our approach, however after having driven over 1000 kms that day we were feeling a little inconvenienced to say the least. There were now no adjacent rooms available and we had to make do with adapting to the obvious displacement! The attitude of the reception staff was relatively unconcerned which only added to our consternation. We felt that as a gesture of goodwill the management should at least make some concession rather fobbing us off with a compromise to our original booking. I felt that the quality of the room did not by any means warrant the cost. The furniture was old, with laminate peeling off the coffee table, lights that did not work, wear and tear was clearly evident throughout, dirty glasses and toilets stunk, reflecting a general trend of poor upkeep and maintenance. We will never stay here again and highly advise anyone to look elsewhere if you want clean, friendly accomodation in Airlie Beach .

From the moment we arrived, Pam the host was so friendly and bubbly and very knowledgeable about the area. The grounds are absolutely beautiful and the pool is devine. We loved sitting on our balcony and enjoying the surrounds. Our room was spacious, clean and the bed was so comfortable. Perfect location with shops across the road and a pub with bottle shop also across the road, not to mention a bus stop very close by out the front. Perfect location, perfect setting , perfect host - we can't wait to stay again.

We booked late and found there wasn't a lot to chose from at that stage for a reasonable price. I will get straight to the point - ask if the room is located close to Shute Harbour Road when you book. This room was arguably the worst we have ever stayed in with regard to road noise. As a consequence it was simply a terrible night's sleep....people walking past on the street until all hours etc etc.... The room is well appointed, in a decent location but very much in need of some renovations. You get what you pay for in this case for sure.

This room has everything you need without the excess cost like some other places to stay in the area. Very friendly staff that made us laugh and feel welcome on arrival. The road is super noisy but I enjoyed sitting on the little terrace looking at the pretty trees and decompressing. Thank you Mango house

What a beautiful woman Pam is. She was so kind as to drive us down to the Port of Airlie and also drive us to our next destination for accommodation. We enjoyed our time at Mango house. The room was clean air-conditioner worked very well and the pool was great.

Pam at Mango House was incredibly helpful and friendly . We felt like we were staying with a friend. She kindly upgraded our room for our honeymoon which had a lovely pool view . Apartment had all facilities. The Housekeeping staff were more than helpful and extremely friendly, offering to help us with our bags . We can not thank you enough. We would definitely stay again .

I booked at short notice and just managed to get an apartment. Family emergency! I was in Airlie on " family business' and so appreciated meeting Pam (the owner?) and settling in quickly. I have always love the Mango House. It has such a positive, special "tropical vibe" I've eyed off for the past 16 yrs on my countless visits there. My apartment was clean, comfortable and over-looked the pool. As a solo woman traveller, I loved it. It was very calming. Felt safe, accessible & quiet accommodation. Perfect for me.! Comfortable! I was confidently left to myself to "get on with the business" !! It may not suit Sheraton Hotels 5 star travellers...nor those who want a butler!! However, being ex Sydney and appreciating the "good things in life" it was perfect for me!!! Close enough to Airlie shops, good restaurants, beautiful walks.....really amazing!!! I'll be back as soon as I can!!!

I would like to recommend a stay at Mango house if you want to visit Airlie Beach - i am so lucky and was given a beautiful room overlooking the pool. As well as providing a huge comfortable bed, kitchen, dining room, bathroom and balcony there were facilities for washing and drying Pam, who runs the complex, is a fantastic lady - she could not do enough for me explaining how to get around and where to visit- the local restaurant and tour operator also offer a discount to Mango house guests which all helps I have no hesitation to recommending a stay here if you enjoy being spoilt

We had an amazing stay at mango house. Right from the greeting at reception to the fantastic location, comfy rooms with an amazing pool surrounded by lush tropical gardens in the centre of the resort. I would call this type of accommodation as traditional queenslader style feel with a relaxing calming feel. The rooms are very clean with everything you would expect to find and need. The staff gave a fun loving vibe and went the extra mile to help (Kelly and jeff you pair of legends) wherever they could. We couldn't fault this little gem and will be returning the 1st chance we get. Loved loved loved it...
