This Victorian home has been converted into a bed and breakfast surrounded by beautiful gardens and flowers. The house sits on the gas-lit Main Street within easy walks to excellent restaurants. Our suite consisted of a comfortable queen bed, a cozy sitting area with tv, refrigerator and coffee maker, and a small deck/porch sitting area. The room has a modernized Victorian look and feel which carried over to the en suite bathroom. Our hosts were discreet, but available and friendly. The only negative was that the excellent breakfast has to be delivered in a Tupperware tub to the room so it wasn’t hot when eaten. Then the quick trip to the to the Grand Canyon of Pennsylvania made our trip just perfect.
Quiet, accommodating, comfortable stay. We loved the front porch and the hosts were absolutely perfect. The breakfasts were delicious and the rooms very relaxing. There is a full spa with great products for sale. This was a wonderful spot for our family reunion. It is covid safe.
A gem! We really enjoyed our stay and look forward to returning. We wish we were able to make of the spa, next time for sure!! Laure Lee was wonderful and kept us posted on everything, even got us chairs for the concert in the park. Breakfast was delicious and delivered to our door in the morning!
We found our expectations met and some pleasant surprises. The plentiful hot water in the shower, convenient access to all sorts of interesting (and fully open) shops and restaurants on Friday and Saturday, comfy robes, casual atmosphere all made the trip just what we needed in a short break. The garden in May was just starting to really bloom, and the innkeepers were busy adding annuals. I am sure June is brilliant. Things to note - rooms are small but well-laid out. We were in the Pyrenees Room. There is no desk or bureau but a nice large closet. Our room had a hallway with bath and bedroom/sitting area doors to the right and a balcony at the end. It gave some space to relax and a place for breakfast.in the cool of the morning. I am not sure it would always be pleasant to eat outside, and there was not much horizontal surface available indoors if we'd had to come inside. The spa was very nice, but closed on Sunday. I was fortunate and got an appointment Saturday - book early! Wellsboro in general shut down on Sunday, at least before Memorial Day. We have very few choices on Sunday in town or at the hotel. There was also less traffic, so we enjoyed that. The hotel offered some maps for nearby parks, and we went for a very nice hike at Hills Creek on Sunday. I'm sure it would be a busy place in summer, but May was just pleasant with a few campers and other hikers.…
La Belle Auberge is the perfect place to get away and enjoy a comfortable, relaxed time. The room we stayed in was beautifully decorated and had several windows so it felt very bright and cheerful. Having two rooms and the jacuzzi tub was a plus and just added to the overall coziness. Our hosts Jesse and Laura Lee did our couples massage and was one of the best we've ever had. They did a great job abiding by current Covid restrictions delivering a delicious breakfast right to our room. And the place was exceptionally clean. We will definitely be returning.
