Ok so it's old. We were there 4 years back, & b4 their renovation, I guess. Yes, it had OLD rug, yes it had 1950s coverlets, and yes you couldn't open the bathroom door w/o hitting the toilet. But it was clean, other than the large toe toenail we found next to the bed. We laughed so hard we cried... More

Four years ago, when my daughter and I traveled to State College for orientation, she and I stayed in the Happy Valley Moton Inn. It was OK. I was impressed with the flowers that they planted on the property. It made up for some other deficiences. Now, four years later, my daughter was graduating and so my husband and I... More

This hotel preys upon people new to Penn State who make reservations last minute. If it weren't for people like us, this place would close due to lack of business. Where do I start? We opened the door to our room and were almost knocked over due to the mold/musty spell that permeated the room. Before you step into the... More

First off, this just isn't a modern motel. But it is budget accomodations. We paid as much here for an entire PSU football weekend as we would have paid for one night at many of the other establishments in State College. My expectations were not high when I read the review, but the place was reasonably clean and the shower... More

Happy Valley Inn is a nice, small, cozy inn. It is definitely not a 4 star hotel but for the price, who can complain? The Inn is in the process of renovating the rooms (new carpet, paint, tiles, etc) and we were lucky enough to have stayed in one of the newly refurbished room. The carpet was clean and the... More

Well, turns out the Internet access costs $10 a day through a third-party vendor. AND...the real kicker? I'm standing outside of my room with my laptop on the trunk of my car because I cannot get the signal in my room, which is literally 30 feet from the antenna. When I asked the manager about the Internet service listed on... More

What a dump!! I felt grungy there. After a very long hard day, just wanted a bath. After seeing the place, a bath was out of the question. The place was very old, outdated and dirty. I would not walk on the carpet in my bare feet. The air conditioner was extremely loud, but even worse, it looked like it... More

My sister and I stayed here 8/29/09 for an overnight trip to State College. Our problem was not with the motel itself as my sister has stayed here before, but rather with the front desk clerk and room assigned us. The front desk clerk , a blonde woman, do not recall her name was not pleasant to deal with! During... More

I waited too long to find a place to stay while moving my son into his new apartment for school. Having to return a rental truck, the men at the return point told us that this place would be clean and ok to stay at. I was shocked to be able to even get a room, and didn't really even... More

When we first went into our room at the Happy Valley Inn, we thought what a great deal. Not a bad room for not a bad price. But before we retired for the night my husband had asked for 2 additional towels since the towels there were very thin and small. The manager(owner) decided that they had to call us... More
