This was our second time staying here. The gardens and rear of the home are immaculate and peaceful. It's central to many places in Lancaster and minutes from shopping and fun. The best part of out trip was sitting and talking to the owners over coffee. Dave and Gail make your stay great and the atmosphere is warm and like... More

Dave and Gail are truly wonderful hosts; checking in to make sure you're doing fine, providing tips and maps for neighboring attractions, clean rooms, and providing tea and coffee for breakfast every morning. Would recommend everyone to stay here.

Location is awesome for Sight & Sound, Pottery, Bird-in-Hand, Kings Homestead, everything. Gail & David are so welcoming and you feel like you're coming to visit family vs staying in a hotel. This was my first time staying in a Bed & Breakfast - I am convinced this is the way to travel.

Dave and Gail made us feel at home in their gorgeous house with a lovely garden. Our room was spacious, clean, and comfortable. The house is in a convenient location on Old Philadelphia Pike, but very quiet except for the occasional buggy passing by in the middle of the night. Dave and Gail arranged for tour guide Fay Landis to... More

My fiance and I came back for another quick weekend which was again short-notice. We got the only room left which this time was Room 3 with the private deck in the rear. Lovely queen bed and as always the room is neat and tidy upon arrival. We came in very late this time so we didnt see Dave or... More

Gail and Dave are exceptional hosts. From the moment we arrived, they made us feel welcome. Hearing that we were not familiar with the area, Gail took the time to map out a day's itinerary for us that took us through the beautiful countryside and to interesting places that we would have never found on our own, as well as... Similar to another review here, our stay was scheduled at the last minute, therefore my fiance and I got the smallest room with two twin beds which was the only one available. But upon arrival David (we didnt meet Gail til' the next morning) was more than welcoming and the room was quaint and neat as a pin. The room... More

We were made very welcome at The Old Road Guest House, the rooms were beautiful and very comfortable it was just a shame we only stayed for one night, I could of easily stayed longer. Continental breakfast was included, the homemade cake was especially nice. Would definately recommend for a visit to the Amish County.

Gathering in Lancaster area on a recent weekend with family members, we could not have been more pleased with the accommodations at the Old Road Guest Home. In every aspect, our hosts - the Buckwalters - provided service and comfort of the highest quality, and it was clear from the beginning that they are totally committed to offering their guests... You can rest assured that all the reviews about Old Road Guest Home are accurate! Lovely hosts, comfortable rooms, great location for restaurants and seeing the local sights. Seven members of our family all met here for a mini-family reunion and it was the perfect spot. It was as if we were meeting at one of our homes! Thank you... More

“I stayed in room #6, there were 6 ladies and each had their own private room and bath. They were all equally as nice.”

“only six rooms. they book FAST. so RSVP over a week before coming”

“We were in Room 6, which was spacious, had a very comfortable queen bed and was quiet since it didn't face the main road. It is also the closest room to a common refrigerator that can be used by all the guests. However, the bathroom was small and oddly-shaped, with a very small sink area and very narrow stall shower. Also, because of its location, we were unable to access the wifi within the room itself and needed to go downstairs to the common living room area to access it, which was not a problem.”

“Book at least a week in advance. They only have 6 rooms so they fill up quickly. Room 3 has a private deck. Room 2 is the only one with two twin beds (not bunk-style).”

“Looked at all of the rooms on 2nd floor, and rooms 3 and 4 were my favorites. Room 3 is on the back side second floor and it has its own entrance, and room 4 has a larger bathroom.”
