John was a gracious host and the Inn was delightful. John's vision for this property was just perfect. The architecture, decor and gardens are splendid and John's attention to detail is impeccable. I grew up in Solebury Township and was thrilled to return home to...More
We received a gift certificate towards an overnight stay and were pleased. We stayed in #7, which is usually booked along with #8. The establishment is nestled along the tow path, hence the name, and the railroad. It is close to everything, but yet you...More
This is an excellent B&B with wrap around porches that gave us outside access right into our room. We stayed in Room #2 which is beautifully appointed with soothing colors and antique decor. The breakfasts were wonderful and were served on the porch at a...More

By coincidence, I just returned today from another fabulous stay at Porches and asked the owners your question. Room 11, which is in a separate building from the main house, is a lovely room that is ground level and has a seat in the shower. (I stayed in this room on a previous visit and loved it.) All of the beds in all of the rooms are high, however, so depending on the handicap, that might be an issue. There are a few steps (three or four) that must be climbed going into the main house where where breakfast is served on the porch in nice weather and in the dining room off season, but they will also deliver breakfast to your room upon request. I would suggest calling the management with more specific details about the handicap to ensure that Porches is an appropriate accommodation. It certainly is fabulous from all other perspectives!
