We didn't realize this until after we'd eaten, but I wanted to start with the fact that about 6 weeks ago they opened a newly added outdoor dining area and bar behind the restaurant. It's a modern counterpoint to the historic main building (located on what was the original Lincoln Highway). Aside from the lackluster greet-and-seat from the manager (he...

My favorite place to eat in Chester County. We eat each anniversary dinner there. Celeste is our favorite waitress! The place was a warm feeling. Always updating this beautiful place..stop it is perfect. Lots of history behind their doors.

We stayed 2 nights, combination business and pleasure. The building has been an inn since the 1700's, but of course is dramatically updated. Most rooms seem to have both a bedroom and a sitting room, plus bath. Comfortable, with decor that seems fitting, if nothing quite like original. (too comfortable) Cozy, a little dark, but with adequate electric lights. The...

We have eaten at the General warren Inne before and always enjoyed it. On this night, it was a birthday celebration with a party of five. The food was excellent, the service not so much. The server acted as though she was overloaded. There were periods when she disappeared and was unavailable. When she was available, her manner was impatient...

Staying in this hotel, I couldn't help but feel I was in a true road-side lodge from the late 18th/early 19th century. I drank a Yard's George Washington Porter in the lodge's tavern, then strolled up the staircase to the room (one of 8 upstairs rooms). I am no expert, but I think a good bit of the authenticity of...

My wife and I were visiting from out of town and booked a Valentine's Day dinner at Gen. Warren Inne. Excellent dinner. Lobster bisque was fabulous. Soup Nazi good! Service was excellent and food was cooked to perfection. Could not really ask for more. Cozy dining room with warmth of crackling fire.

It was an anniversary dinner. The champagne was chilled perfectly and the service was great. Romantic table for two in the indoor porch. Definitely enjoy their Caesar salad for two. The lamb chops were nicely done and the red wines paired with the meal beautifully. We enjoy this venue for very special occasions. We returned in February for a birthday...

Food was good but poorly and unattractively plated. Reservations were honored. Their waiter/ Waitress staff need more experience. Fireplaces do not use real wood. Facilities are nice. Bar area was busy.

Every year I join my bankers for a luncheon at the General Warren restaurant - which is excellent. This time I decided to say overnight the evening before hand. What a treat. I stayed in the General Warren Suite. The suite was charming with a warm fireplace and very comfortable. Service was excellent.
