We really enjoyed our 3 nights at this warm and friendly inn. The staff was wonderful and very accommodating. This is a wonderful place to come, especially if you are a biker. The canal path on the PA side has a sense of history that is wonderful and by crossing the bridge at Frenchtown, you can pick up the rails...

Thank you for taking the time to write about your stay. You described the biking experience very well; I'm fond of going to Frenchtown or Washington Crossing on one side of the river and returning on the other. Come back and see us soon. It was a pleasure hosting you. Warm Regards, The Staff of 1740 House

Love this place. Staff are so friendly. Breakfast is awesome. The bar and locals so welcoming. But best of all is waking up to a spectacular view from every room. Just Bliss! The area has some great walks around and great wildlife. I've been here in winter and summer and it's an ideal place for photography.

In town for a Family Wedding which was held at Holly Hedge Estate; we stayed at the 1740 house due to no rooms at HHE. The room was very comfortable and had a great view of the Delaware River; also had a deck. It was a neat location as we had never been to this part of PA before; very...

We're so glad you enjoyed your experience at both locations. We work quite well with HollyHedge. It's important to us that everything be "just so" at both spots. We're glad you made it to our neck of the woods. If you're ever in the area, give us a call. Our bar and barkeep will be at your service! Warm Regards,...

We were made to feel very welcome the moment we walked in the door. The Innkeeper has the perfect disposition and approach for first time visitors. Our room (with a view of the Delaware River and foot bridge) was spectacular, the breakfast was very delicious and the history of the Inn was interesting. We will return!

If we made you feel welcome the moment you walked in, it didn't hurt that you had a friendly smile when you arrived. Thank you for taking the time to say something nice about us. We thoroughly enjoyed hosting you. And I'll let Chef know what you said about his breakfast. Hope to see you again soon! The Staff of...

We stayed here for a family occasion and plan to return. Rooms are charming, furnished with comfortable beds and country furniture. The river views are wonderful - and the breakfast was ample and delicious.

I am late in contributing this review, but wanted to thank the innkeepers and staff for a wonderful weekend this past February. My husband and I stayed here during the coldest weekend of the year, and we had the best time. Our room was cozy, the bed was divine and the view was absolutely stunning. Loved watching the freezing river...

We would love to have you back! Even in the bitter cold, this area has it's charms. Cozy rooms to cuddle in, and I hope we built for you a roaring fire in the living room. You can always take your cocktail from the bar and sit by it. Sorry if Chef missed his mark at dinner, but we're glad...

We called last minute to see if a room was available, when we decided to stay over night after attending a wedding at Peddler's Village. Scott was kind enough to let us know that we were next on the list if there were any cancellations; and lucky for us there was. Excellent customer service all the way around from the...

The 1740 House offers an outstanding getaway in a peaceful, serene setting, with a lot of history and character. The room was spotless and spacious, the staff is very courteous and helpful, and the breakfast is wonderful (especially the baked cinnamon french toast), but the real attraction for us was the scenery. If you want a tranquil vacation, this is...

Thank you for your kind remarks. Your experience is similar to that of many of our guests. They plan on hiking or biking, but once they see the view from the porch or balcony, out comes the wine and the books. Please come stay with us again. It was a pleasure hosting you. A room with a beautiful view of the Delaware River. We had cocktails at the Inn's private bar and walked down to the lower patio and sat at a table with an umbrella and great breeze.
