We chose Heritage House Inn precisely because of Trip Advisor reviews, and I'm happy to add my own. The location was convenient, the history of the house as an old rectory was interesting, and the friendly service was great. Our room was spacious, comfortable, and...More
This B&B is a converted rectory and the decor, while dated, is authentic and is from a day gone by. Everything is in working condition and the owner and staff are friendly and very accommodating. There is plenty of space in the living room, game...More
After a disappointment in another venue, I was delighted to find this place. I don't know why I haven't seen this before, as it has been open since 2012 and I've been traveling to Johnstown once per week since 1997.
A former manse, this old...More
We really enjoyed this bed & breakfast. It was ideally located for the Johnstown Polka Festival, just a 6 or 7 block walk. It is the former rectory for the former Catholic church next door. The innkeeper does not stay on site, but is in...More
Charming inn. Walkable to much of the town. Really welcoming folks. We noted we were gluten free just so they wouldn't feel bad that we didn't eat a lot at breakfast. They went to the trouble of making a yummy gluten free apple cobbler. There...More

It is unfortunate that you have chosen to carry a long term vendetta towards our inn. I have answered your review in the past and responded to your first "question" I refuse to carry on a continuing battle of words with you and will simply have faith that our prospective guests will continue to rely on our many excellent reviews, which we work hard to earn daily. I wish you the best in your future travels.

Again, as I said in response to your review, I am sorry you encountered the situation you did with Debra using you as a pulpit to voice her employment dissatisfactions. No guest should ever have to deal with this and this resulted in her immediate dismissal. We have done many renovations and upgrades to the building since our purchase. The 2nd floor carpeting in most of the bedrooms was removed and replaced with different floor treatments. The bathroom floors had been covered with glued down carpeting, which was removed, and cleaned exposing the retro 1950’s tile treatments. Most of our guests love the fact that we have retained the “old” things that can be kept without sacrificing guest comfort. The building was built in 1890 as a church rectory and the changes made through the years tell a history of the building which is interesting to many of our guests.
The plush carpeting in the dining room and living room has been retained. We are planning to replace the dining room carpet in the near future with laminate, since any area used for food service is prone to frequent spotting. The carpets are cleaned regularly, however.
We have never said that we were tied into a security system. It would be difficult to do that with a Bed and Breakfast where guests come and go regularly. Cambria City is however, an extremely safe neighborhood and many of our guests walk through the neighborhood day or night enjoying the area and patronizing the restaurants, museums and cultural arts centers.
We have only had one employee prior to Debbie and never encountered a problem with her until after she left our employment. Unfortunately many employees do become dissatisfied in retrospect when they have lost or quit a job.
