Several years ago I stayed at the Young Federation Motel several times on work related journeys. This time I was on personal business and remembered that it was a very comfortable and well-run property, so I recently stayed one night.
During the intervening period, they've added a new wing at the rear of the property and I booked a Superior King Balcony room in this new addition. These rooms are outstanding and would do justice to many 4 or 5 star hotels. They are very spacious, well appointed and have a nice park outlook. The bed is very comfortable and as both the motel and these rooms in particular are situated well away from through traffic, they are are extremely quiet. My only criticism of the room is the lack of a lounge chair or sofa, there being only a table and chairs in the room itself. There is comfortable outdoor furniture on the balcony, but it's lacking in the room itself.
The motel is within 2 blocks of the centre of Young and as they are owned by the Young Services Club, complementary membership is included in the tariff.
The rest of the motel is also of very high quality and this is a recommended place to stay when visiting Young.

I just had 3 nights here on a mini road trip. I booked direct on the motor inn's site.
The establishment is owned by the Young Services Club across the road. The inn is opposite a nice park and weir, very quiet area. I booked a deluxe upstairs room with balcony, opposite the lift, No.248. The inn presents itself very well, pristine, grounds immaculate, pool on site, plenty of parking.

Reception was excellent, friendly and knowledge receptionist. I also spoke to one of the mangers one day. All the staff I encountered from management to reception to breakfast room service and room cleaners were very courteous and professional, friendly people.

My room was in tip top condition, nice little balcony with table and two stools overlooking park, very pleasant. Big bed, very comfortable, table and two chairs, plenty of storage, Fridge with mini bar, I brought my own water and drinks, but prices were not too bad. I heard the odd bit of conversation and tv noise from adjoining units, but quite bearable. The place was pretty full up, mostly working people with the odd tourist like myself. The price was $178 per night, top dollar in Young, but if you want the only 4 star in town, you pay for it, the other motels around town looked 20, 30, or 40 years old. This place was reasonably new, well the section where I was anyway. I have stayed in many hotels in Australia and around the world, this was one of the nicest.

I ordered room service breakfast, came on time, reasonable cost. I had the cooked breakfast, good variety. I ate once at the club across the road, not bad and once at Mr Chow chinese down the road and once in my room, takeaway. Only 5 minutes walk into dead centre of town, very convenient.

Overall the establishment was excellent, I would stay again and highly recommended. I only have 3 minor issues which I did enter on questionnaire I left with reception, perhaps management can consider these:
1. I had no comfortable chair, just dining table chairs, a couple of comfortable chairs or 2 seater sofa would be good.

2. A micro wave. I know many motels do want to guests to eat in their rooms, but a microwave would be good to reheat takeaway, plus some basic cutlery and a couple of plates.

3. Gluten Free bread should be made available per breakfast menu for those requiring it, it is not expensive these days in Aldi or Woolworths.

I am not being critical re above, just suggesting improvements to what is an excellent establishment.

Room Tip: Level 2 in new part, bit more expensive than older section, but in my opinion worth it.

We had a fabulous stay from the first phone call to the last wave goodbye. The room was comfortable, uniquely decorated with natural woods And show cased stunning Lake views. The bed was a king sized cloud That cuddled you to sleep. The bathroom was amazing with two hand basins and a walk in shower with a raindrop shower head, my partner was in heaven.

Highly recommended and simply an awesome stay. We will return !!

I do lots of business travel and stay at lots of motels/hotels. The Federation Inn stands apart from the rest.

The amount of space is incredible with a sitting area, couch, desk, suitcase storage, cupboard, lots of floor space and massive bathroom. It always comes down to the little things and they’ve thought of almost everything.

Bottle opener attached to the wall, heat lamps, light and tv switch accessible from the bed, stocked and affordable minibar, temporary member card for the levies club next door and double storage for suitcases (it always baffles me why double rooms only accommodate one suitcase rack).

The only thing that would be nice to see is a microwave. It definitely helps when you’re travelling for business and don’t want to order new takeaway each night. However I’m sure if I asked reception to reheat, they would.

Love this place and can’t wait to come back ☺️

Clean country motel. The room was modern, and a bit larger than average. Just off the main road, so no noise. There is no restaurant onsite although breakfast can be delivered to the room. The motel is across the road from the local Club (which owns the motel) and room service meals can be delivered from the Club. Wifi worked well. We booked via the motel website and everything worked ok. Would stay here again.

The staff at the Federation are friendly and helpful. We thought our room was brand new, but found out that it is 2 years old - VERY well maintained. Our room was quiet and clean and contained everything we needed. The hotel is owned by the Services club just over the road so good quality meals are close at hand, and they will charge back to your room. The Services club is spotless as well and the food was really good.

Wanted to say that from the minute we checked in ( in Young for a family funeral) that we have never experienced customer service like we have. We were a group of 10 , in total 5 rooms and Janine the receptionist was friendly, from the minute we booked the rooms to when we checked in.We all complimented after we checked in of how nice and accommodating Janine was, nothing was a problem for her. She greeted us with a friendly smile , even happy delivering breakfast in the morning, to checking out. One of our group said how nice she spoke to two girls that were cleaning our section of the motel we had a later check-out. Kudos to Janine for a very clean organised Motel worked like she had shares in the business

Staying at this place was a highlight of our three-day visit to the Riverina. Our room overlooked a lagoon that at dusk was full of birdlife, frogs and people walking. I have not felt so peaceful since being in the Gardens at Cowra. The room was spacious and the bed very comfortable. We were given membership of the Club that owns the Motel but had our meal in our room as it was so pleasant. The staff were very, very obliging. Our room was spotlessly clean.
