Mercure Kooindah Waters is described as a golf resort. On site is a large golf course, a spa (we didn’t use), a gymnasium, tennis courts, indoor and outdoor pool, kids play area and huge grounds to walk around. It has all the amenities one would expect at a resort.
The room is quite spacious though the bed is extremely uncomfortable. With two quite hard single beds pushed together, we had pretty sleepless nights (also because its relatively loud from other rooms). The room has 2 couches, a tv (a few pay channels), desk, fridge, microwave and tea and coffee facilities. The bathroom has toiletries provided and a bath/shower combination. It could probably do with a little updating (even some art to brighten it up). Free wi-fi (it drops in and out a bit) but have to pay expensive price for a movie.
In the room was a letter to say that because of Covid, they’re not cleaning rooms or re-stocking. This is pretty crazy when every other hotel in Sydney that I’ve recently been are still cleaning so seems more of a cost saving venture. You need to call reception for any extra things needed, and they do come with the goods pretty quickly.
We had a restaurant voucher, but unfortunately due to two events, it was closed for dinner. We understand the need to take events in what has been a trying time for hospitality, so no complaints about that. However, they should offer the full menu for the in-room dining. The in room dining food was actually quite good, and came pretty fast; we had the roast of the day (beef) and a parmigiana, served in takeaway boxes with cutlery provided. But because the resort is quite far from other central coast locations such as the Entrance and Tuggerah, if you’re staying, you really probably need to eat here.
Check in was pretty straight forward and staff were friendly, but I think must be understaffed as they took a while to answer the calls from the room.
We did have a good experience, but the feedback is just to help tighten things up for a better experience overall.

We had booked a 5 day stay (2 coupons, 2 day and 3 day) through Luxury Escapes at this golf resort. When we arrived we were pleasantly surprised at how nice it looked. Check- in was easy and were were given room 243. This was up one flight of stairs (no lift) and the room was spacious. It was a 1 bedroom apartment with balcony overlooking a beautiful golf course. The living room had a large fridge, dishwasher (we did not use) everything for cooking a meal, microwave etc. It even had a laundry cleverly hidden behind folding doors. The bedroom was nice with build in robes and a super comfy bed. Plenty of parking right in front.
There was daily housekeeping (yeah!!) and they did a fabulous job. We were really happy.
The on site restaurant (Karinya) was open and we had 2 dinners there and one breakfast. It was okay, quite nice. Friendly service.
Check-out was a breeze for us.
We did not get to play golf due to an injury my husband had, but it was nice just to see the course. Watching some people hitting the ball into the water was quite funny (for us, not for them).
We would recommend this place to anyone.

Feedback
We checked in on a Sunday and were given a code to access the amenities . On Monday the code did not work and someone let us into the pool. I thought I must of put the wrong code in but when my son needed to go to the toilet the access code would not work and he had to pee in a plant. Other residents saw and I apologised and was embarrassed . I went to reception and was told that the codes change every Sunday night. This information would of been helpful at check in.
The room was not cleaned properly. There was dirt under the lounge and hair on the bathroom.
The pizza was awful . Way too much cheese and no garlic on the garlic pizza. Provided this feedback on checkout to the assistant manager and was hoping for a discount on $63 we paid for the pizza.
Residents were bombing and diving in the pool. There were not enoug lounge chairs and one was broken. Very little shade at the proof. Need a shade sail and more lounge chairs. Not once did a staff member do a pool check the whole duration of our stay while at the pool. We spent 3 hours a day at the pool. I recommended that this would be a good idea to check that residents were following the rules for using the pool

Booked a 2 bed apartment (#304) for 3 nights for a wedding held in the same location.
Accommodation was tired and unclean, lounges stained really badly. Dust and grime along benchtops. Walls were dirty and need a good wiping down.
Upstairs television had no signal. No radio / DVD player downstairs as other rooms had.
Housekeeping came by everyday, though this service is limited to replacing towels and bathroom soaps etc.. I would like to ask Mecure when the room was last actually cleaned?
Apartment size was good, enough room to move around and not feel crowded. View of the course was nice and seeing birds like swans and ducks on the water was interesting, not so much other animals as rats on the balcony was.
Ate in the restaurant Friday night and whilst entrée of pork belly was good most of our party disliked their meals (lamb linguine, seafood pie).
Room service meals were quick to be delivered and quite enjoyable (breakfast sandwich, salmon burger).
Wedding service was good, drinks staff were very attentive, pleasant and worked hard especially the team on the cocktail station. Wedding meals were very nice and enjoyable.
It's a shame that the lack of cleanliness that we along with the rest of guests in our party observed made what could of been a wonderful stay an average experience

Recommended as the place to stay in the central coast for our anniversary weekend with a toddler. Booked a two bedroom apartment which upon getting the keys found some issues with cleanliness and a large set of stairs separating the bedrooms from living area which was not advertised and not ideal for a toddler. We were considering looking for last minute accomodation elsewhere but customer service overshone and we stayed. Moving into a high quality room, we were offered a meal at the resturant on the Saturday evening as compensation. The restaurant was booked out on the Friday so got room service, couldn't fault the pizzas. Dinner on the Saturday night was amazing. Gloria took care of all our needs, had colouring and a toy for the toddler, taking his order while we got drinks and offered to take him for a walk so we could finish our meals but he was too shy. We left after our mains due to the toddler being unsettled and had dessert and drinks brought to our room 20 minutes later, enough time to settle the toddler into bed and eat in peace. If it wasnt for the issue with the intial room would have given 5 stars and would still recommend the hotel to anyone wanting a quiet weekend away. Oh and the kids meals was a massive portion!

THe rooms were sensational, everything you need to be self contained except food. Very comfy beds & wonderful staff. Having access to a heated indoor & an outdoor swimming pool was very relaxing & the gym has all up-to-date equipment with showers etc in the complex. Tennis courts, fantastic golf course with amazing bird & wildlife & views to die for. Has a delicious Resturant with a bar, a Pro shop for the golfer & room service with a smile. Loved the new release movies & has a massive amount of parking if you dont want to park near people as youre worried about scratches etc. Do yourself a favour & stay here if youre on the Central Coast. Its close to everything💙😍😎😁💙

Kooindah isn't coping.
I was excited to be experiencing the resort as part of a golf clinic and was looking forward to the restaurant and service as part of the program.
The staff look frazzled and are trying their best, but really, a hotel that markets itself as a luxury experience should do better than the disgraceful food we were served, and the obvious understaffing.
The lunch and dinner menus consisted of deep fried or bread based food only, with no option to order fresh salads or vegetables. I felt sick after 3 days of heavily battered, fried and uninteresting food. It was like I was in a cheap cafe at best.
Breakfast was laughable. I ordered the muesli and yoghurt which consisted of a cup of dry muesli and a teaspoon of yoghurt. No bowl, milk, spoon or plate. We were given our breakfast in paper bags. The next morning I ordered a bacon and egg roll, - which was quickly squashed in the toaster but the bacon and egg was refrigerator cold in the middle.
There was one poor person trying to man the single coffee machine at breakfast and morning tea, which meant many of us missed out.
There is no excuse for bad food and lack of planning or thinking about how to make an experience exceptional, even in these times. Other places are doing it well so it can be done- its shameful to see Kooindah not stepping up.
I will not recommend anyone go here.
I only hope the 2 future Progolfgals groups that have already booked benefit from feedback and are better looked after than we were.

Wife and I stayed two nights over November in a one bedroom apartment, have read some of the not so good reviews disappointing but our stay was very enjoyable and a welcome break. Our room overlooked the practice putting green and busy pro shop in the mornings, we had a great time, the room was clean, bathroom a good size, shower over the bath which can be difficult as one gets older and not as flexible, comfortable bed, sitting lounge good arm chairs, table and chairs for four if needed, stove, large fridge, etc.
Staff from reception through to restaurant wait staff and bar were fantastic, friendly and helpful. We enjoyed our evening meals, wine selection and breakfast albeit the bacon not pleasing both days, but otherwise fine, also eggs as you like available. Plenty of close by your room parking (not undercover) gardens very nice, pro shop also very good if required offering 50% discount on winter clothing sale, we took advantage. Overall a very pleasant stay and will stay again next year, we will request the same room. Thank you management and team for a great stay..

Staff very good. Special thanks to Receptionist late 30/10/2020. and morning 31/10/2020. Great asset.
Restaurant service and breakfast amateur at best (lack of training/ supervision & coordination) Bacon snapped and flew off the plate and poached eggs hard. ($40.00)
Suggest your GM pop-in and see the stuff they're serving up.
The apartment ($279 a night) was tired with a rusty dishwasher and the balconies covered with sludge and at night hundreds of slugs everywhere. If I could upload photos I would. The pillows smelt like dirty hair.
Its not hard to clean.. but you don't so we wont be back.
BTW the score relates to the receptionist only 1/1 (100%).. the rest is very disappointing.

Outdoor no, indoor is meant to be but it was cold when we were there in mid summer.
Early morning golfers and early morning green keeping staff mean mornings are not v quiet. One side faces the very nice golf course views. The other side the car park where I guess people pull up before their golf games.
"Hotel is connected to a golf course. It has indoor and outdoor pools. Great place if one needs some quietness and downtime as its peaceful"Read full review
