Always so amazingly clean and lots of extras like the bottles of wine that you get on your arrival. The breakfast is always plentiful and delicious and Wollombi town is so near and the locals are so friendly.

Somewhere Unique certainly lived up to its name. The cottage was beautiful – so private and surrounded by bushland. Julia and Nick thought of everything – huge breakfasts for 2 nights as well as wine, chocolates and a cheese platter. Not to mention bikes, gorgeous toiletries and even yoga mats! Our morning “downward dogs” on the veranda were certainly enhanced by the birdsong and filtered sunlight through the trees. We were impressed by the communication from our hosts – texts and emails so we knew exactly what was happening. Thank you again for your attention to detail. A wonderful, relaxing oasis.

Our stay at Somewhere Unique is one that we will fondly remember. Everything from our wonderful hosts, Nick and Julia, to our beautiful accommodation and the gorgeous surroundings made our stay truly memorable!
Unfortunately our stay was impacted by local flooding, and we couldn't visit the local attractions as planned, and our massages could not proceed, but we couldn't think of a better place to spend some quality time together and celebrate my birthday! We took advantage of the bad weather and totally relaxed and enjoyed the comforts of our amazing accommodation, along with the very generous provisions provided and the little extra touches which made our stay extra special! Our hosts ensured we had everything we needed and that we were safe and dry during the flood event.
We would thoroughly enjoyed our stay and we will certainly recommend Somewhere Unique to all our friends and family, and we look forward to visiting again.

We had 3 luxurious nights in the Allawah cabin, photos do not really capture how beautiful this place is. Exactly what we needed and a beautiful place to celebrate my birthday. So peaceful, it was cool enough to enjoy the fireplace and the added special touches by Julia & Nick make the stay so welcoming. The breakfast hamper is super generous and we also enjoyed a bbq pack on the first night which was beautiful and fresh. Can’t wait to return

A very special place to celebrate a very special anniversary. The beautiful location of Somewhere Unique is ever so tranquil, peaceful and very private. The retreats are welcoming, meticulously clean, very spacious and every comfort is thoughtfully provided for. The pre-ordered breakfast basket was more than ample for our two day stay, the village is close by and has a variety of resturants to chose from and we were not disappointed by any of them. Murray and David's attention to detail is to be congratulated and we would not hesitate to recommend their perfect little hideaway!

There simply aren’t enough superlatives to describe this place. Murray and David have thought of everything. The bath was like a swimming pool that overlooks a private bush setting. The thing that makes us want to come back though is the thoughtfulness, good taste, and commitment to sustainability that is evident in how the place is presented. Strongly recommend a visit for that special weekend away.

We stayed here after recommendations from our friends. We spent a 4 night long weekend here and loved every moment of it. Everything is so well thought out. Anything you think might want or need, you’ll find it! Everything is done to such high standards within the cabin and surrounds, we couldn’t fault anything. Communication is great from start to finish with Murray. Easy to navigate to from Newcastle. We loved and information folder. Lots of interesting things inside it. The gas fire place is great. Beats brining in wood all the time. We loved our stay here and can’t wait to come back.

“Somewhere Unique” is exactly what the name implies…. I chose to take some time out & this was the perfect place to relax & re-charge the batteries. From my original enquiry with Julia, I knew this place offered a very personalised experience. Nothing was too much trouble & the many special treats in my retreat house were very much appreciated.
