Hubby and I have just returned this week from the most wonderful few days at Wild Edge Retreat at Wollombi. This is the best place to celebrate a romantic Wedding Anniversary or that special occasion. It is so peaceful, so private, so thoroughly clean, so comfortable … and takes your breath away with its most amazing views. The food provided for breakfast is so ample in its portions that we also used some of it for an evening meal. All the internal features are high end (such as the Dyson hair dryer etc), but the views are what make it such a wonderful place to just come and relax! I love the scenic drive here - it’s such a beautiful part of the country and not far from Sydney. The hostess Emma was so welcoming, and although all 4 Pavilions were booked during our stay, we never saw another person, such is the clever design and layout of the property. Just the sounds of nature and wildlife … and the most amazing view of the brilliant stars at night! I also loved the fact that each pavilion has its own private swimming pool. And I also love the fact that it is a large property that is gated, so even though we had the privacy of feeling we were the only ones here, it was comforting to know that although we were way out in the bush, someone else was on the property should there ever be a need. And the extremely high standard of cleanliness and sanitisation was also very reassuring at this time in history of Covid concerns. We loved our stay!

My husband and I went here for a weekend getaway for our wedding anniversary and we weren't disappointed.
We felt welcome from the moment we entered the gates to the time we left. Emma our host was awesome, meeting us at the car with a golf cart to transport our luggage, and was only a call away if we needed anything or extra supplies.
The breakfast supplies were amazing with a huge selection to choose from including cereals, yoghurts, fruit, bread, eggs, bacon, mushrooms and fresh tomatoes plus a large selection of teas and coffees.
Our fire was lit, cabin warm and tealight candles burning throughout the pavillion and deck areas in time for our arrival for a romantic welcome. As it was our anniversary there was a complimentary bottle of bubbles from a local winery on ice with a note from the hosts.
If you are looking for a private, romantic and tranquil getaway then wildedge is for you.
Thanks Emma and Mick, we will definitely be back

Wild edge is an amazing retreat, perfect for a romantic getaway or just to de-stress and unwind. The private pool, tranquil nature setting, spa & the value for your money is just perfect. TV had Foxtel & casting capabilities so we could still watch Netflix, Disney+ etc. We will definitely be back!

If you could reach into our heads and pull our all of the things that would make our perfect holiday, Wild Edge would be it. A beautiful location with an incredible uninterrupted view of the bush/jungle, a pavilion so private that you feel like the only people around for miles, a private pool, a beautiful and large outdoor deck for eating, yoga and playing cards on the day bed, a bbq for outdoor cooking every morning and night, an incredible spa bath and tropical shower, indigenous toiletries, absolutely lovely hosts who absolutely get what you need on a trip like this and provide everything that make it special as well as all of the essentials, and the kind of animals wandering around that you want to see (kangaroos on the drive up, goannas on site) but no huge spiders?! (how did they do that?!)
Seriously though, we're lucky to have stayed in some amazing places and I think the best way of describing Wild Edge is to say that it is the best holiday we've ever been on.
And it's 'only' a staycation 2 hours from home. And we didn't have to fly. And it beats our luxury honeymoon in Bali. Sorry Bali.
Thank you so much Emma and Mick for such a wonderful time, we loved every second and didn't want to leave! You made my 30th birthday one to remember for sure!

We spent last weekend at Wild Edge for our 10th wedding anniversary and our stay was absolutely perfect! We were warmly welcomed by the lovely Emma who took our luggage to our pavilion for us and explained everything. We got to our amazing room and the fire was going, soft music was playing and a bottle of bubbles was on ice. We then had tandem massages in our room and were well and truly relaxed. We stayed in Whispering Forest and it was spotless, very comfortable and had everything you could need. The views from the room was spectacular. Service was fantastic throughout the rest of the weekend and nothing was a problem. I would highly recommend Wild Edge to couples looking for a totally relaxing, luxury holiday. Thanks so much again Emma for making our anniversary so special.

We stayed at this wonderful retreat for our 20th Wedding Anniversary.

We wanted a private luxurious cabin with tranquil surroundings and that is exactly what we got!

As soon as we had parked our car, we were greeted by our lovely host Emma, who transported our luggage via electric cart to our accommodation.
We entered our cabin to find a warm fireplace and pure ambience created by tea lights and soft music.
Our cabin was immaculate and very well equipped with everything that we needed to make our stay comfortable and our cabin even included amazing breakfast provisions for the weekend.

This retreat is amazing and we will certainly be back!

We had the pleasure of staying at Wild Edge Retreat for 5 nights last week to celebrate my husband's 70th birthday.

As return guests we knew what to expect from this fabulous property, but were very impressed with the little upgrades that Emma and Mick have made since taking over, which easily elevates this wonderful retreat from 5 stars to a very deserving 6!

Upon arrival we were greeted warmly by Emma who helped us with our luggage and showed us to our pavilion, Earth Song. Wow, what a treat for the senses! Cosy fire, tea light and aromatherapy candles and soft music.

The pavilion was immaculate and equipped with everything needed to self cater. We enjoyed the vast array of breakfast provisions that were so tasty..obviously fresh and locally sourced..oh, and thankyou for the bottle of bubbly and the birthday cake- a lovely touch.

We loved Earth Song with its lovely big balcony- perfect to capture the winter sun and glorious sunsets.

The property is so peaceful, it becomes very easy to connect with nature. Tranqility is important to us and we really appreciate the fact that Emma and Mick make a point of not carrying out any noisy maintenance whilst guests are on the property. For us,this is pure gold.

We highly recommend this beautiful retreat for a couples getaway to rest, rejuvenate and revitalise.

This was our fifth time at Wildedge Retreat and it just keeps getting better and better!! Our favourite pavilion is Earth Song the view is spectacular ❤️The bed is THE most comfortable I’ve ever slept on ( including my own) and that’s saying something. The choice and quality of the food provisions are amazing - you literally couldn’t think of anything else you would need. Emma is so welcoming and makes you feel at home. So thank you for our anniversary bubbles and like Arnold Schwarzenegger says We Will Be Back!! Thank you so much Karen and Mark May 2023 xx

After a crazy 2021, my husband and I were desperate for a place to relax and unwind. And boy, did Wild Edge Retreat deliver just what we were after!
We were greeted by Emma with a smile and such enthusiasm that we immediately felt welcome. Upon arrival at the pavilion, peaceful music was playing with lit candles to make us even more at home.
The Wind Spirit pavilion offered breathtaking views of the eucalyptus forest into the distance with the most romantic sunsets. We had every meal outdoors due to the ambience.
The privacy and the peace we desired was all there, with our own pool which we enjoyed daily.
Would definitely recommend this place to anyone!

Ok, I'm rather biased in writing this review but please read on.

My name is Rod Courtney and I was the project manager and partner from inception of the business through to 2009. Life sometimes doesn't take you were you think and it certainly didn't for my wife and I, but I would not have changed building this place for the world.

Wild Edge Retreat was and remains a very special place in our hearts. Although the previous owners to Mick and Emma were entirely forgettable, all I can say is that I am very proud to know that both of them (Mick and Emma) have not only kept up the very high standards we ourselves did, but improved on them.

Until recently my wife and I had not returned to the property. We were actually married in the Earth Song Pavilion in 2008. It's been a great trip down memory lane.

If you are after something very special and different, somewhat secluded and want to escape the crazy world we currently find ourselves living in, you won't find better hosts or facilities in this part of the Hunter.

Wild Edge is a truly special place, confirmed by the multitide of excellent reviews it continues to receive.

Thanks Mick and Emma. You truly are special people.

Jennie and I hope you thorough enjoy Wild Edge Retreat.
