I recently stayed here for 4nights for my wedding & we hired out the 3 rooms and WOW what a treat we all had! This place is Amazing & done up so lovely! We had such a relaxing time staying here thanks to all the help & hospitality from the owners they were always so helpful & happy.

The apartment decor is amazing & everything was super clean & placed around so nicely. We ate all our meals from the paragon cafe & the food service & delivery was so great. They even catered for my wedding preparations & everyone loved all the fresh & tasty food we ordered.

We had such a wonderful week staying here Thanks so much for making our wedding week so amazing.

A great place to stay that is right in the centre of town. Rooms (Bathroom, Bedroom and Kitchen) are very clean and tidy (I have stayed both upstairs and downstairs). Have great hosts that are always welcoming. Option for them to cook meals for you as they own the cafe downstairs. Beds are comfortable and I always get a great sleep there. I will keep using this as I stay overnight in West Wyalong every few months

I pulled into West Wyalong, Saturday, 5 August 2023 and found the best place to stay in town.
I was greeted by the lovely Tonya and her brother, went upstairs, checked into a beautiful large bedroom with heating and flat screen TV. Magnificent large separate bathroom, kitchen, lovely lounge room with Chesterfield lounges, and awesome dining room in an open plan with a large screen TV. I sat and enjoyed my dinner at the dining room table from the Paragon Cafe whilst watching the football.
I highly recommend everyone contacting the team in West Wyalong for your next overnight visit.
Thank you for looking after me so well and I’ll be back.
God bless you Di and your beautiful family.

This is a difficult rating. We found some elements excellent, others fell short of our expectations. Our overall weighting based on our stay was "average", but if we were using just the bedroom and the communal lounge/dining area I would lift the rating to "very good/excellent".

Firstly, this is an unhosted accommodation. The owners are in the country cafe/restaurant next door on the ground floor. They were friendly and welcoming.

There are 3 rooms that share a kitchen and a lounge/dining room. The king sized bed room was en suite. The others appear to share a bathroom.

Now the pluses - the room was large, well appointed, luxurious and comfortable. The bathroom equally modern and fully functional. The standard of decor excellent in the bedroom and the lounge/dining room. On these fronts the Mentor earns and "excellent" rating.

Where it fell short - and this could well have been a product of our not understanding what we had booked was in the shared kitchen. Yes, it had modern appliances, but was very basic in what was available. No toaster, microwave, nor a frypan and very basic utentsils. No instructions for using the oven/induction cooktop The shared kitchen was really not targetting guests who wanted to self cater. It was more aligned with a bar area than a cooking area. We muddled by and were successful in making meals. It was clear that the owners cafe downstairs was the preferred place to have meals.

There were hand written rules on do's and don'ts every where. Just a little clumsy in conveying "welcome".

Would I recommend staying here. Well, depends, if self catering is high on your agenda - possibly, but be aware of the shortcomings. If you have no intention of cooking and just using the bedroom (en suite king) and the lounge/ dining room then by all means. You will not be disappointed.

Thank you for your review and I'm glad you enjoyed the beautiful Mentor chambers and appreciated the elements in which we have highlighted in creating this unique accommodation in downtown West Wyalong. I would like to address your issues for you in which we would always love to also discuss face to face please remember face to face feedback is always very valuable to small businesses and often your issues can be cleared up and fixed on the spot. As any small business would really appreciate this opportunity, Especially after the tough times we have all been through and still going through this year. Firstly to your point of bing un hosted accommodation, whilst owners don't live at the BNB we are in the cafe/ reception downstairs and are available their from 8.30am until 11pm so are always here to assist when needed. The BNB has a king room with en suite and the two queen rooms have their own bathroom room, so every room has its own bathroom. No SHARED BATHROOMS With the kitchen we provide the basics only, including a saucepan and utensils as we have not found a huge demand for cooking in the BNB and most people only need the basic's There is note on the house rules stating to ask for any you need downstairs and we happily provide you with anything you need ,as you did with the fry pan, if you needed anything else why would you not have asked?? as with any issue with the cooktop or oven I would always pop up and help if needed there is even phone numbers on the kitchen bench a phone call and a staff member would be up their to help. Please remember this anywhere you stay if you need something please approach the reception and most of the time is sorted very quickly. again we have provided basic's in the kitchen to demand, Im sorry we do not provide a toaster and microwave due to the mess it created when we opened and wanting to keep stylish accommodation nice. People burning toast created issues with smoke alarms and disturbing other guest. The notes have been provided due to covet with some extra precautions for cleanness. Im sorry you found this an issue again its been tough times. I feel we always strive to provide nice stylish accommodation with amazing service trying to make guest feel homely and welcome each guest in the cafe and someone shows them through the BNB and explains breakfast options. Myself who has travelled for business quite a bit find this amazing country hospitality and very welcoming. I have stayed in large and expensive hotels in the city thrown a key and find your own room. Im sorry you found these issues to dampen your stay we have had lovely couples stay in the BNB cooking their owns meals and have enjoyed their stay and given great feedback, sometimes it comes down to communication we also have a large number of guest who have their meals deliver to the dining room from the cafe who have also provided amazing feedback but by no means is this option pushed upon you. I hope you enjoyed you drive around the county and we thank you for supporting us and our town in these times

The reviews.... well I am surprised! We were very disappointed in this accommodation. It did not fit our expectation as a B& B. We were surprised to arrive at a rather dowdy entrance, then greeted with a hallway with paint chipped off skirtings and doorways. The accommodation was more a group of rooms with a share kitchen and lounge area. The bed was comfortable. Not sure what was “deluxe” about the queen room we had. Yellow bucket left in the room because of a leak. It’s what the photos don’t show! We were also not expecting a bathroom down the hall. Bathroom was modernised and clean. There were so many rules and regulations and the women who made the rooms up was abrupt and rude. She told me I had to take my shoes off because of COVID regulations! We felt uncomfortable being there. Would I stay here again..... not at $130 per night.

I booked a room about 6 weeks before my required stay when there were plenty of options in town. A week before my stay I got notice that they had overbooked and my booking was cancelled. There were 3 rooms left in town, I was just lucky booking.com got me another room at a different establishment. This accomodation was still listed on airbnb for my dates. Their booking system is obviously non existant, be very careful booking this accomodation as you could be left without a room.

They cancelled my booking due to 'overbooking their accommodation' the night before I was due to arrive and whilst I am already travelling in NSW. This could happen to anyone and you may not be able to find an alternative at short notice. Best to avoid.

The bedroom is elegant and cosy. The heating blanket and heater were turned on before we arrived so everything was nice and toasty. The common room was cosy and comfortable and the kitchen was well-supplied.

The best place in West Wyalong.

Every year at Christmas, for the last ten years we have spent 3 days driving to QLD from Melbourne, we spend a week with family and spend a week or two driving back. We’ve stayed in hundreds of places and this was the worst by far. We always ring to advise of our ETA with at least 2 hours notice (which we did in this case) we arrived to our room which was unbearable hot. We turned aircon on and went down to the cafe to eat and try and cool down there. Unfortunately there was no relief it was hot too but also full of flies and when we ordered our food and drinks we where huffed at. We waited 20 mins for the drinks which where not cold. We meandered around town where we found relief at the RSL and returned to sleep a couple of hours later. Unfortunately it was still too hot in the room(seems the little aircon wasn’t suitable for the size of the room) after 2 beers each sitting with wet face washers to cool down we opened a 375ml bottle of wine to share (I should mention the wines where stored in the hot kitchen which was hotter than the room) the wine was disgusting- tasted like vinegar and had slimes things in it and hit (like mulled wine) So we tipped it out and went to bed (it was 10:30 and we had been advised everything was closing at 9) we waited around till 9am this morning to hand in keys and talk to Brent about the wine but the cafe didn’t open and no one answered the number so we left the keys, the money for the beers and a note about the wine. Brent rang and said ‘you won’t pay for a whole bottle of wine after you drank it’ I explained ‘no, it was a 375ml bottle, less than a glass each and we didn’t drink it because it was terrible’ I also told him I didn’t appreciate his accusatory approach and he told me I was being rude! I told him I am a customer and he is the one being rude to me to which he said ‘forget about the wine you can f**k off’’ and hung up on me. A women rang 10 minutes later and asked what was wrong with the wine I said ‘oh I am just writing a trip adviser review’ and she told me I ‘didnt need to be so rude to Brent’ to which I responded ‘I was giving feedback, I was not being rude and I was not the one swearing!’
We have just arrived at our next destination and it is cool and friendly! I will appreciate it that little bit more after this.

I booked Mentors Chambers thinking it would be a luxurious stop off for my wife and I while travelling to QLD from Melbourne.
Since our stay we have been harassed beyond our craziest dreams - starting with an insulting message from Brent where he told my wife to "f**k off" (recorded) then repeated phone calls (numerous calls and missed calls logged) where Tonya is so consumed in her own importance that it is difficult to understand why she has called, and even harder to get a word in, repeated messages(recorded) and complete lies written by Brent as a response to my wife's review.
We arrived at the BNB after travelling 7 hrs to 38+ degrees. I contacted them around 12 noon to advise that we would arrive between 2-4pm, as we had booked for 4pm. Upon arrival at roughly 1.45pm, I paid immediately before even seeing the room.
The room was stinking hot, I mean 40+, air con was off. We did not complain. The kitchen was even hotter, we did not complain. I asked to order a pizza, none available til 6 - no problem, I ordered a steak sandwich. The cafe was hot, we did not complain. The steak at the café was the size and thickness of a coffee cup coaster, We did not complain. The beer and scotch were luke warm, we did not complain - Brent explains in his response to my wife that he put them in the freezer as the fridges in the cafe were labouring in the heat but the rooms and café was cool? - and the air conditioners weren`t labouring being on the outside wall in full midday heat even though the fridges where inside??
The toilet had no lock, there were no toilet condiments, the towel had make up on it, the room did not cool down at all with the small air conditioner etc, etc, etc - we did not complain.
That air conditioner in our room should have been on since 8am to beat the heat of 38+ for the intended occupants - Australians understand this.
We left and spent the afternoon at the fully air conditioned RSL where everyone was very pleasant and the food was fantastic.
Upon leaving we called several times on the same number they had called me on and I had called them on - no response. We left the money, vacated the room, drove around the front and waited for the café to open - 9am, we left, and we did not complain.
I heard how Brent was aggressive at my wife in our car about the oxidised wine - we have speaker phone- , I told her "just hang up" but Brent then swore at her and he hung up. I thought that was the end of it.
I was later contacted several times that day By Tonya. I tried to discuss the matter with Tonya who was aggressive, abrasive and rude and hardly let me speak, accusing us of being abusive and rude to them? How could we be, she did not let us speak- it has been truly confronting.
And I still don`t completely understand why they keep mentioning that they have my credit card details?
Brents actions are unprofessional in the lowest order - disgusting, and his response is a total fabrication of the truth. Brents abuse was totally unacceptable. I would never, ever make the comments they have posted - read them and consider them from a united couples position - laughable fiction.
We are both legally allowed to post our responses without being attacked for it, nothing I nor my wife have written is in any form a fabrication and I will stand by this all the way.
Tonya's actions are also totally unprofessional and disgraceful. To continuously message and call your past guests on and on and on!!! Appalling.
