I particularly chose The Charles Sturt Motor Inn because it had a restaurant which they assured me that it was open when I verified my booking a few days before our stay. But alas and alack it was closed on the night that we stayed there, although they did say that the new owners, who also owned a pub, would come and pick us up. Another disappointment was that there was no-one on the desk to welcome us in; I had to ring on my mobile to get someone to come. On the plus side, the room was clean and freshly painted and the bed comfortable.

It was an overnight stop en route from Tamworth to Adelaide. We were excited when told that we had been upgraded. The bedroom was good but the other facilities were on the small size. Management provided a suggestion for eating an evening meal. The noise made in the early morning by departing guests was not appreciated.

We stayed at the Charles Sturt Motor in as the White Tank Hotel was booked out. The service was friendly and helpful and we were offered a courtesy bus to and from the White Tank. Rooms are being renovated, though our unrenovated room was perfectly clean. Shame the restaurant wasn’t open on the night we stayed as we’ve heard wonderful reviews. Though it gave us the chance to eat at the White Tank Hotel, which was fabulous so we were very happy.

The staff were very friendly and went Above and beyond! I was able to order food to my room and check in was 24 hours I was lucky enough to be greeted by a friendly backpacker who was happy to help.
Price was decent and the room was clean, and filled with shampoos and hot drinks. I had a mini fridge in my room and a walk in shower.

Money has been spent on this room to make it clean, fresh and pleasant. However, having to phone twice while standing at the front door breaks the first rule of hospitality, the ‘welcome’. There is none! The bathroom looks fine until you glance up and see that thw window hasn’t been cleaned in several hundred years and is totally GROSS. There’s a cockroach on the floor. There are no bedside lights so I have to use my head torch to read, and the venetian blinds don’t block out the light so we wake at 4.00am. These things could be so easily fixed. Roadtest your rooms!

The room was clean, shower had plenty of hot water & pressure. Room had a 2 seater lounge & table & chairs out the front.
Staff were friendly & amiable. TV had free to air channels.
Bed was quite firm but pillows were good.

We had a nice friendly greeting and made to feel welcome. A firm bed which l like with good pillows, great shower and spacious parking under cover. The room was clean but worn looking. The whole room looked liked it need an upgrade. Tv is very small and had been wiped with something at times making it hard to see the screen. We were a bit worried it might be noisy but other than some workers leaving at 4.30am it was very quiet. The room was adequate for one night.

Stayed over a weekend staff were super friendly, helpful and accommodating. Courtesy bus to the white tank hotel makes like easy, and the food there was amazing. Rooms are nice and clean and plenty of space in. Overall super happy and would stay again

Very cold reception from lady on front desk upon arrival. Dated room, threadbare sheets, sunken mattress. Very basic - no telephone (socket in wall was broken), no clock, no hairdryer. Only a kettle and toaster. Perhaps expecting too much for $80 a night.
The air conditioner made noise but did not cool. The room was a sauna. It was a 40 degree weekend and the air outside was cooler.
The only positive was the shower. A strong abundance of hot water.

I wish I had of said something, but I couldn't wait to get out of there.
The sheets were so old I thought they were going to rip they were that thin. There was a cockroch as big as a Bic lighter, I couldn't sleep because of it and couldn't find it.
But it was so late and I'd had such a long day. The entire place was in darkness as well with everyone asleep.
The room felt dirty. It was a nice size small room. Bed uncomfortable. I think everything had never been replaced since it was built. That's how it felt anyway.
