Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Our two nights at Bernti’s were spent in a beautiful room known as The Residence. The room is generous in size, and has its own lounge area where you can relax on the Chesterfield lounge while enjoying a glass of wine beside your own gas log fire. Off the lounge area is a private courtyard that gets bathed in sunlight. The king bed is super comfortable and the quilt warm and snuggly. The bathroom has a double vanity and the added bonus of a rain shower. The room has a fridge, and tea/coffee making facilities. Overall we would highly recommend Bernti’s Mountain Inn and The Residence. The staff we encountered during our stay were friendly and professional, and our stay was definitely memorable for all the right reasons.

Despite social distancing hitting customer numbers, Zack’s Bar and Bernti’s really made us welcome and the Asian fusion food was a delight. Highly recommended. Even sent us home with take away desserts.

We only stayed 1 night. We had one of the front rooms on level 2. We had a great view from the room.
The room was quite spacious and bathroom was good.
The window doesn't have a fly screen. As soon as we opened the window, some flies came in.
TV remote wasn't there. After a very long day, all we wanted to do was to relax, but we had to get up to change channels.
The hotel is in excellent location, only about 100 metres from the village square.

We were greeted by the waiter with "the kitchen shuts at 8 so 2 courses max". There were only 2 other tables occupied - one a single person and the other a table of 4 who appeared to be workers in the village and were drinking only. At 8pm the bar lights were turned off. I asked for our bill as it was obvious the restaurant staff wanted to go home. I was told they were staying open until 9pm, though we certainly weren't made to feel welcome to stay. Stupidly overpriced and appalling service. Yes, we were visiting out of season, but for the price, service should be friendly and obliging. Would not recommend.

Came here over Australia day long weekend. The room was tiny, but did the job. The lack of parking in Thredbo meant we were always trekking to and from the car park. The reception was mostly closed the whole time we were there and generally we found the hospitality in the whole of thredbo to be lacking. But great location.

The good:
Great location. Very central for Thredbo Village shops and the chairlift.
Good food in the restaurant for both breakfast and dinner.

The not so good
Service - very average. Reception desk barely attended. Restaurant shut Sunday evening and all day Monday when they claim that they are always open.
No one to help with luggage and there are a lot of stairs. So pack light or do some weight training!
Staff service was variable. A couple of friendly and helpful staff. Most were diffident and uncaring. A couple were rude. No one to ask for advice about the area.
We had a room with no view. The room was very basic and functional and in need of updating with its 1970’s decor. Poor WiFi and basic TV.
Would not choose to stay there again.

Hi Sppkethecat17, We’re sorry to hear that you did not receive good service while staying with us. During the summer our restaurant closes on Sundays. It is open all day throughout the winter. Apologies if this was not communicated. We really appreciate your feedback and will share it with the team. The Berntis Team

Always the most welcoming place to come back to each year. Laura and her staff couldn’t be more helpful. Zack is an absolute star and is born for the job of Barman extraordinaire.
The food was stunning and faultless and the drinks plentiful. Many thanks to the entire team⭐️

Came for the first time to Thredbo and had a ball. Bernti’s was in the perfect location and close to everything. The staff where amazing and the rooms modern and spacious. Peak season you may have issues parking but the overnight parking isn’t that far.

Excellent customer engagement from the moment we walked in with two families.
Remembered all the kids names and made us feel very much at home.
The food and drinks were brilliant. Well done Zack and your professional staff. See you again soon.

This is the noisiest hotel I've ever stayed in my memories. The noise is not because the place is old without any proper accoustic. You can hear your neigbours (next door & upstairs) talking, going to toiletS. It has a bar downstairs which operates late past mid night. One night in our stay, the loud music from the bar kept us awake till 2.30 in the morning. We wonder if this is legal hour for them to keep the bar open and loud music till early morning.
