Squatter’s Run is an award winning development located at the village square. A variety of floor plans offer the ideal accommodation for your holiday plans: a studio for a quiet sojourn for two; spacious two bedrooms, two bathroom apartments that can sleep up to six people; or the popular one bedroom and one bedroom plus lofts. Fully equipped kitchens will keep the chef happy - whether your culinary skills are gourmet level or you have mastered reheating in the microwave. Unique design features are found throughout the complex. For some, a window seat provides a great view of the passing village life. In others, the loft is a quiet retreat for afternoon tea, a good book or a siesta. Drinks on the balcony or a dining nook for a cosy dinner with friends – in each apartment something will add to that special holiday feel. And our central location means you can enjoy all the activities of this renowned mountain village. Outside of fabulous skiing and snowboarding in winter, time your visit for Christmas and New Year or one of the special events and festivals in summer such as the Jazz, Groove and Funk festival every March or Blues in January. Every apartment comes with views of the mountain, balconies, and each unit has a reserved car space.

Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Be careful booking with this accommodation. Even when the mountain is closed due to there being no snow, they offer no refund or moving booking to another date. Communication is difficult too as no one answers the phone.

Stayed three nights and found everything to be more than satisfactory. Little disappointed that second TV was recording no signal and couldn't get Foxtel to work but not there for TV really. Clean (except for toaster) and would prefer doona to antique bedspread but otherwise very enjoyable stay.

Stayed in Unit 16 which was a single bedroom deluxe unit...great views, amenities, complete kitchen, very nice dinning area just next to a huge window looking at the slopes and chairlifts...Cassandra was very helpful throughout our stay to make sure we feel like home...excellent parking and access. Bedroom, linen, toilet, everything very nice and clean... couldn’t complain about anything at all...will definitely visit again..

Booked apartment Thredbo 31 (part of this complex) through Booking.com. It was expensive (for 2 adults and 1 child) but a fairly big 2 storey, one bedroom apartment with dedicated parking space just outside. We were on the upper level so it was just 75 steps down through the Squatters Run complex to the main strip with bakery, shop and restaurants - very convenient location. The sign on the back of the front door said that for H&S (fire) reasons only 2 people were permitted to sleep in the apartment, which was a bit perplexing! It was a little dusty and the safe battery needed changing (we reported it but it didn’t get fixed), but otherwise fine.

Responded 4 Mar 2019
Dear 2Adults1C, Thank you very much for taking the time to share your feedback. You are correct, Thredbo 31 is in the Squatters Run complex but is not managed by the Squatter's Run management. It is independently managed. Since this site is for the Squatter's Run Apartments only, we kindly ask you to post this review on the relevant page. Thank you very much. Best regards, Patrick

The apartment was well furnished, generous kitchen fitout. We loved the balcony which looked onto the village main street. Note that this does mean you can hear people in the street late at night having fun! Well setup for skiers and summer walkers like us.

We were looking for some family time away from the hustle and bustle of Sydney and all its electronic attractions for our kids. Being familiar with Thredbo in winter, I was curious as to how we would go in Summer. We booked the Squatters Run apartment knowing we would have parking on site plus the fact that it was central to the town square. ( our apartment actually overlooked the main square). Let me say that we had a fantastic time at the Squatters Run and would recommend it and Thredbo to anyone looking for a great family break over the Christmas/ New Year holiday. The accommodation was first class with all the mod cons and self catering facilities available. It was a great bonus to be so central that we managed to forget the car for most of the week. We spent our time absorbed in the atmosphere of the alpine village during summer. If you can manage it when the weather is accommodating, we would highly recommend the Mt Kossie summit walk. Our kids highly recommend the disc golf as well as the leisure centre. A huge thank you to the Squatters Run as well as Thredbo for putting on such a great time over the New Years break. We will be back!!!

This was such a wonderful place for us visiting Mount Kosciuszko with views to the ski lift. The accommodation had excellent facilities and we were very comfortable. The balcony overlooked the town centre but was quite secluded. The curtains operate by button - very useful in that location. Jackie is very efficient and helpful making our stay in Little Nanook very enjoyable.

the location, administration, accommodation are fantastic! The staff are fantastic to deal with and there isn't anything that i can fault - on both occasions. My first visit was with my son who was competing in the Interschool Downhill Mountain Bike Competition and we hired the studio loft. We were impressed and when the decision was made to go as a family for another Mountain Bike Event we didn't hesitate to hire the 2 bedroom unit. It is central to all the facilities and parking is easy.

From the time I've booked the apartment to when I've dropped off the keys - only one thing that I didn't like. The next door apartment's noise (which wouldn't be a problem if I was not bed ridden for 2 days)... As for Alison and her team - THANK YOU! I've stayed in apartment no 1. Furnished studio apartment. Well equipped kitchen, nothing to miss in the bathroom, the bed (two single pushed together) very comfy (as well as the lounge room seater), TV, DVD-player, Foxtel... Oh, and a balcony (perfect for morning coffee) with it's own BBQ!!! Nothing else you could wish for. Unfortunately, the built in fridge was on 'strike' but the owners supplied another mini fridge. The apartment is in the bang middle of the village (with shops, restaurant, bakery all within 50 steps of the apartment) and the chairlift is just across the road. Everything is walking distance, so you can park your car (you have your own spot behind the apartment) and not think about whether you could have that extra glass of wine!
