Summary: This was a quick 1-night stay with my family of 4 on the way from Newcastle to Sydney. As an Accor member, I felt obliged to stay here. Overall, a decent stay in a hotel that meets all the expectations for a hotel of this class.

Positives:
+ Greeted by a very friendly, informative and welcoming receptionist
+ Modern room (414), very comfortable, spacious enough for 2 small kids, adult bed very comfortable
+ The suitcase rack was big enough for me to open my large Samsonite (75cm) and access it very easily and conveniently (I rarely ever see this in any hotel)
+ A lot of FREE (outdoor) parking
+ The adjoining Diggers (RSL) club has decent prices and quality meals and drinks for the whole family (just don't get the kids pizza; it's definitely a frozen supermarket variety)

Things to consider:
- The hotel is a little ways up the hill (south) from the touristy waterfront. So if you want to spend time down there (i.e. pelican feeding, beach, boat hire etc.), it's probably easier to drive.
- I experienced a strange leak from somewhere in the bathroom. It wasn't dirty or smelly (just water), but it was appearing from somewhere between the sink and the toilet, and caused a very wet bathroom floor which was a little annoying.

Lastly, the hotel itself doesn't have a restaurant, but it is connected to the adjoining Diggers (RSL) club. If you're from overseas, it's like a social club for Veterans, but now it's common for families, to get cheap but tasty food and drinks. Typically, you need to be a member of the club to access its cheaper member prices, but as a hotel guest, you will be granted temporary membership.

I had a one-night stopover at this Motel in preparation for a medical appointment and left with mixed feelings about the experience.
The receptionist was very friendly at the signing in process while ensuring the Covid-19 rules were adhered to.
The room was spotless with an excellent shower, great bed, internet connection, tv, etc, but it was lacking a decent table to sit and eat, unless you sat where a laptop would usually be.
The biggest disappointment was that the view from my window was a brick wall of a building ant air condition chimneys, so if you want a view of the lake, don't stay in room 303.

We (couple) stayed here for 2 nights in a Superior Lake view room. We also stayed at Mercure Kooindah Waters and Magenta Shores during the same period.

Room:
The room is small, but what we would have expected for Ibis Styles. It actually had a few shelves where you could keep items out of the way. You have a nice view of the lake and you can put the chairs close to the window to sit and enjoy. The position of the door stop in the bathroom is a shocker. It is right in front of the toilet and I busted my toe on it. It prevents the door from hitting the towel railing, but it surely could have been better designed. Just watch out for it.

Wifi - Good

Food:
The Diggers restaurant is connected to the hotel. You cannot use Accor Advantage Plus but you get the member discount as a hotel guest. The meals were fine and typical of a RSL club.

Facilities:
We did not use any of the facilities, but there is a virtual reality experience next door and a bowling green.

Service - Good

Cleanliness - Good

Parking:
There is free outside parking and limited under roof parking. They actually have a Tesla charging station as well.

Value for money:
We believe it is good value for money. Even though the room is small, the lake view is nice. You would not plan to spend the majority of the time in your room, so as a base with a nice view when you are in the room, it is good.

Comparison:
Compared to a Mercure Kooindah Waters Golf View room and Magenta Shores Studio King room.
We would pay the extra for the Golf View room at Kooindah, if we intend to spend more time at the hotel. Being able to sit outside on the balcony makes a difference.
If we just need a place to sleep, not spending too much time in the room, the Ibis Styles is good value. You can obviously go even cheaper if you just select a standard room.
Magenta shores probably sits in between the two. You are close to the beach, Norah head etc.

We found the 'ibis styles' at The Entrance' NSW had great accessible rooms. Our hoist and shower chair and husband's wheelchair had enough space to launch him. The beds were on rollers as was the single bed. The hotel people told us we could move anything we needed to move (I easily moved both beds). The bathroom sink was high enough for my husband to stay in his wheelchair and get his knees under it to clean his teeth. The toilet took our shower chair . There were an adequate #bars on the walls but, there wasn't a toilet surround to assist getting off the loo. But, i'm sure management could accommodate this , if needed. The shower was in the same room with no hobs, lips or other obstacles and plenty of room. The room itself didn't have a microwave but, access via an inside walkway to the Diggers Club next door gave residents access to breakfast (in house or takeaway) Each floor (6or 7) had an accessible room but every bed may not fit a hoist under it. However, staff happy to change your room or bring in a bed that will be high enough for hoist to go under it. This Ibis Brand was NOT your usual small Ibis box room. Staff were very obliging and keen to assist if they could.

The Reception staff were most welcoming and delightful, which I had read and this was confirmed. The room was well appointed, clean and fresh with all we needed. Food and drinks were available at The Diggers, which is interconnected to the hotel. It was purely for an overnight stay in the area to attend an evening function nearby. The hotel was as expected - it is an IBIS, not Sofitel!. Would stay again.

Booking the IBIS last minute I was not expecting much. We were actually surprised and delighted with how clean and lovely the Hotel and rooms were. Beds are really comfortable, rooms are enough and so clean. The Hotel is very family friendly and staff are exceptionally good, especially Donna. Donna was fantastic in every way and Matthew was great also. The complimentary bottled water in the rooms were also appreciated. I highly recommend the IBIS at The Entrance.

Last minute spontaneous family adventure to The Entrance. This place was awesome, from the moment we step foot into the front door I knew this place was worth the price we paid. Staff were awesome nice friendly, even recommended a few places to see and do in the area. The room was A++ big spacious room with a king bed and a sofa bed for Miss 5. Attached to the hotel is Diggers@The Entrance. You have access to the club and that’s where you get breakfast from. Due to covid-19 they can’t provide the buffet menu but you do get the food served to you which is a plus if it’s included in your stay. But you can order what’s on the menu, prices are really good and a variety of goods to choose from. Our room was situated on the lake side and we woke up to an amazing view of pure nature. Highly recommend this place while at The Entrance my family will definitely return again. Also plenty of parking and at no extra cost.

Well, modern and not so clean. I arrived late after a long day on the road only to be greeted by the little brown critter. I asked the receptionist if he had any insect spray and he assured me he’d spray my room whilst I was having dinner. Not sure if he did as the room smelt the same as when I left. Also the most obvious thing about the toilet is self explanatory as is the stained doona and horrible pillows. I won’t be back!
