I recently spent 3 nights occupying Cabin 1 which was located opposite Reception. The last time I had stayed at Dunleith was back in 1973... where we had an on-site van on the waterfront.

Arrival was streamlined by their pre arrival process. The staff were very friendly. I was soon given access and settled in.

The Cabin was huge for just myself as it sleeps 5. Having friends locally I didn’t spend much time in there. The two rooms had large wardrobes with plenty of hanging space, however a bit light on cupboards / drawers.

The cabin had great air flow with the windows open. My only real issue was that the main bedroom had a window towards reception / driveway. At night the street light would illuminate the room. It didn’t stop my sleep, but if you woke up during the night, I thought it was morning.

The kitchen looked a bit tired and probably needs an upgrade. The fridge was not real clean.

The lounge area had also a lounge that had seen better days. The TV was small for the room. For instance it was hard to read the Program Guide from the lounge.

The bathroom was adequate with a large shower and fantastic water pressure and hot water. The only point was that their was no handle on the door. It may be difficult for an elderly person to grab and open.

All in all, I had a great stay with no major issues and would definitely stay here again when on the Central Coast.

We keep coming back to this great park for stopovers on our way back from up north so we can get an early run through Sydney on a Sunday morning to dodge traffic. The amenities are excellent, the reception staff very helpful and pleasant and our usual site behind the office is sheltered from the wind and usually quiet. Most campers think its best to camp on the waterfront. Sure the sunset views are great but it is exposed to the wind and usually very busy. A novelty in this park is that you unhitch your van at reception and the groundsman expertly parks your van on its site using a tractor. As the roads are bit narrow this is a real help especially with long rigs like mine and I am rubbish at reversing. A short walk into town over the bridge takes you to the shopping strip with lots of cafes, restaurants, kids playground, pelican feeding shows and a supermarket. There is also a great little cafe round the corner for breakfast and coffee. A short walk to the beautiful surf beach.

We only stayed there for two nights but we stayed in amongst a really friendly group of travellers. We found a lot of people were standing in the water waster deep and having the time of their lives. All showing off their catches of Flathead, whiting and Brim. There are rock pools to explore at low tide, some with fish trapped in them.
The camping grounds were lovely and the amenities blocks were in really good condition. I highly recommend this park. It was quiet and relaxing

I have stayed here previously and I have loved my stay here especially on the waterfront sites. Each time I come up here I now want to stay here which was mainly for my business. This time I was a huge disappointment from the time I made the booking till the time I left. When I made the booking I found them bit rude and very unhelpful. From working in hospitality I have made it my business to know what is around the area so that when people ask I can help them. I was told that you had to go through The park next door to get to the beach in front of the park but when I asked if the park and beach next door was dog friendly they didn’t know that but they sending you that way nor did they know about places around within a kilometre even .

When I arrived I wanted help to unhook apparently that was a huge issue to despite me trying to give solutions so they could help me thankfully the groundsman did unhooked my caravan for me

The site I was given the caravan next to me was barely 1 m away from one side of my caravan. I mentioned this to the groundsman who said they are full on the weekend. They were nowhere near full and my whole stay they might of had 15 caravans around the one area including the drive-through’s. We had 4 to 5 vans or next to each other then down to 2 and despite most of the waterfront sites being vacant or empty there was never a gap of one van between most of us which I believe Should’ve happened. On the weekend they had quite a few vans one row Back who will got a waterfront site maybe that was why they pay a cheaper rate and get the view I don’t know, But even so they still could’ve spread aside and given them of you but they were all bunched in together to

Final straw was upon checkout I wanted to stay an extra night or maybe longer and despite being only eight caravans in the park and all the waterfront site except two empty, I would have to pack up and move. I asked if the other person could move but no apparently they had to have that site. Not only have they probably lost one night stay they probably lost a lot more from me probably not staying there any more and mentioning what happened to other people.

It’s a pity because I actually loved this park and I love staying here I was really looking forward to staying here again. Out the front wasn’t the best but that’s not their fault and it still has the fabulous view.

The Deluxe Waterfront Cabins should be bulldozed to the ground and rebuilt! The toilet was “kiddy height,” the double bed consisted of a 10cm foam mattress that was also at that same kiddy height. Then we come to the bunks in the second bedroom, which my husband was volunteering to sleep in so I could have the double to myself. That is, until we saw the bunks… triple bunks with a ladder at one end and a “don’t fall out barrier” at the other end. The result? Triple coffins… not that I’ve been in an actual coffin yet, but this would have to be close to it! Then, to top it off, no wifi! Really, in today’s world, no wifi? All this for only $250/night!! My advice? Stay home and save your money!!!

My wife and I stayed here for 9 nights in early March.

The staff are very helpful and friendly.

We stayed in a waterfront villa which had everything we needed and was very comfortable.

Neighbours on both sides (1 in another villa the other side was a caravan) along with everyone else we met during our visit were extremely friendly as well.

A short 15 minutes walk across the bridge gets you to the centre of The Entrance which has loads of cafes, restaurants and a couple of pubs.

Do not be put off because it is called a “tourist park”, we had a very relaxing stay and would recommend to all.

Lovely cozy cabin for a winter stay. All the usuals provided but air con and doonas on our bed were welcome. Cabin was clean on arrival. Very quiet park ( It was in covid times and greater Sydney came into lockdown again). Staff were so very helpful with advice as needed. Very highly recommended as a family trip as there is a park nearby for kids, a beach for long walks and a lake for fishing and prawning. Great shops a short walk across the bridge and often markets nearby at Long Jetty and The Entrance township. Loved staying here and after a long time since were were last here (20 years) found the other campers and stayers most friendly and full of travelling advice as they always have been . Sad that some long termers were no longer there however that is how life rolls. This is a great spot. Lots of families with kids and dogs ( in your own accommodation) and everyone happy. Very highly recommended. Thanks Rebecca and your staff for all your help. Shame we could not stay longer with covid. Will defiantly be back as I have so missed our time coming here.

What a great place to stay!!! Everything about this place is fantastic. The weekend was fully booked but never had to wait to use the amenities which were always clean. Very helpful and accomodating staff in the office. We arrived on a sunny Friday afternoon and we’re just about set up and ready to start relaxing when the biggest storm hit!! We were camping and had not got around to roping the tarp down when the wind decided to wreck all our hard work🌪 if it wasn’t for the very friendly and helpful staff from the park who helped us secure the tarp I’m sure we would have blown away!! Sorry I didn’t get their names but thanks go out to these guys who were going around the park during the storm to make sure everyone was safe!! We will be back

Well positioned park, with above average amenities block, overlooking the mouth of the river/lake. Even though one row away from the shoreline caravan sites, it was still a feeling of being on the shore. We so enjoyed the bicycle rides over the 4 days we were there going around the lake (20km r/t) or into town for shopping, or foreshore visits. Lots of fisherman everywhere, so obviously good catches in short order. We loved it! Best place in 9 weeks of travel we have stayed, with the park, the town, people, restaurants, outings, and things to do.
