Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.

Attractive appearance to this hotel in a nice location on the Lagoon at Terrigal. Clean and comfortable but in need of serious maintenance to some of the outdoor posts and handrails that are suffering Sea weather exposure. Sliding flyscreen door falling apart from corrosion. Quite a lot of traffic noise at peak hours. Guest laundry provided. Our stay included a good breakfast.

The hotel has great friendly staff and the location is excellent. Room slightly dated but comfortable and big enough. The downside; Not that you spend heaps of time in the room but the TV must have been 40cm x 40cm that small almost needed glasses to watch it. The balcony looks over the lagoon, beautiful, you can sit on your old green bendy plastic garden chairs to take in the view. For a few dollars they could upgrade the balcony furniture and it would be fine. I mean a feature is the view and you sit and relax in chairs fit for the tip. Disappointing! To their credit I do use a blue light to peruse the room and the bed and surrounds were exceptionally clean. Just a heads up, if a huge family rents out multiple rooms please monitor the noise, and don’t allow them to monopolies the beach area with tents and music, there were other paying residents.

Stayed at this motel for a weekend getaway.

Good location - walk out the back, over the fence and you are walking on sand!

Very close to the main beach and all the eateries.

Would recommend a room further from the main road if you are not used to road noise.

There was an issue with the leg of a bed but that was an easy fix - we ended up swapping rooms.

No microwave - if you want a microwave, you will have to pay extra

Would recommend a trip to Caves Beach and Treetops Adventure Park if you have kids

Our family stayed in five rooms for a funeral and found them all comfortable clean and reasonably priced. Nicole and her team made us welcome, making rooms available early so we could freshen up with breakfast together the next morning being well above average and included in the cost of the room.
Highly recommend for an overnight stay or a relaxing holiday close to all Terrigal has to offer.

Staff were so friendly, breakfast was excellent. We stayed on the ground level and on opening up the sliding door we were meters from the lagoon and sand. It was lovely watching all the dog walkers pass by and the children playing in the sand. Room was clean with a mini kitchen so we were able to keep a chilled bottle of wine and some snacks. We had a parking spot directly outside our front door which helped as we were an elderly couple with a big suitcase. Will definitely book again.

We were disappointed with the quality of accommodation and believed that the marketing images did not represent reality.
More importantly, the cleanliness of the kitchen left a lot to be desired: cupboard handles, utensils, stove and the window blinds were greasy. The front door was damaged (although secure) and required a suitcase to be placed against it to stop it rattling.
The staff were very obliging but didn’t appear to recognise that their property wasn’t really up to scratch.
As a consequence, we felt that the price we paid did not represent value for money.
We won’t stay there again.

Booked to stay one night at The Clan for an early Father’s Day weekend as my partner loves fishing and I prefer to fish from the balcony with a wine. Perfect location, we stayed in a lake view room with the lake just a stone throw away. Short 5 minute walk to the beach where my partner and son was fishing. The room itself isn’t bad, the bathroom was old but it was ok. The service from the reception staff at the hotel and the restaurant was what makes this place worth the stay. The food and the coffee at the cafe was amazing and was free with the room. I would stay here again, wish we stayed for longer.

We booked for Saturday and Sunday nights in a lake view room. Everything we needed was there. The beds were comfy and the lighting excellent - too many places fall down with lousy bedside lights - not at The Clan. The hot water in the bathroom was HOT and had good pressure.
Sunday morning we shared a "Big Breakfast" enough for the two of us oldies. Both nights we had an excellent dinner at the Indian restaurant across the road - great value, great food.

We stayed as a friends group to celebrate a birthday in Wamberal and booked 4 double rooms for our 2 nights stay. The hotel is conveniently located centrally between Wamberal & Terrigal, easy walking distance to both suburbs.
The rooms are comfortable & clean, but are very worn & in need of refurbishment. Two rooms had one of the two bathroom lights that didn’t work. When we notified staff they could be fixed as the maintenance team are not available over weekends.
The on-site restaurant, Maccoa is a great option for breakfast. Great menu options and the room discount also makes it more enticing.
Overall a good stay. Would return again.

Hotel is nice little old style building right on the waters edge, tasty breakfast included in the hotel restaurant (lots of people seem to just come here for the meals only). Staff are really friendly and helpful. This is my 2nd stay and I will be back again for sure.
