Stayed at Esther lodge for 4 nights in February. The accomodation was great and the owners are really friendly. we had a lovely open plan living, dining and kitchen area. Kitchen was very roomy and included everything we needed if we wanted to cook there. Great size bedroom with a very Comfortable bed and big bathroom which included Laundry facilities. I would definitely stay there again and will recommend to anyone visiting tathra. The one bedroom apartment Was very good size for a couple we had more than enough room.

We stayed in a one bedroom unit (unit 7) in peak period. The complex has 4 one bedroom units (units 6 to 9). units 8 and 9 are upstairs, whilst unit 6 and 7 are at street level. unit 6 is away from the road, whilst unit 7 is closest to the road. unit 8 has a very small view of the beach. The complex is convenient - 5 minutes to the beach and 10 minutes walk to food. Joanne and Mark (managers) were very kind, hospitable and knowledgeable about Tathra and the surrounding areas and went out of there way to make things memorable for us. The upkeep of the common areas (including pool and BBQ facilities) was excellent. The parking is relatively close by to the one bedroom units (there is a parking spot specifically for unloading your belongings). However, there are only enough car spots for 3 cars near the one bedroom units, so if all 4 one bedroom units are occupied, 1 car needs to park either on the street (which is very close by) or on the other side of the complex. You have to reverse park into the car spots, but the car spots themselves were fine in size. They are not covered carspots. The one bedroom units are decently sized for 2 people and we found that they had all kitchen utensils that we required (even salad spinner!) and some basic kitchen necessities. Unit 7 is the most west facing (so is the brightest unit), but apart from the first day (when we arrived), we did not need the air-conditioning (even though it was very warm during our stay) because of the airflow that came through the various open windows from the sea. The unit was clean. The units are serviced after 7 days (we stayed longer than 1 week). There is no telephone in the unit, but wi-fi is available and we didn't experience dropouts (but we didn't use it much). FYI - Tathra has poor mobile reception (Telstra has the best coverage, but it isn't great). You have to throw your own rubbish away, but it isn't too far away. If you ran out of amenities, it wasn't a problem to ask for more. Beds and pillows were comfortable. Didn't turn on the TV, so can't comment on the reception. I didn't watch the TV, but I think that it is not close to the main couch (taking into consideration the size of the TV). See the pictures that I have attached. There is no bath or dryer in this unit or spa in the common area, but that wasn't a problem for us (dryer is more of a concern in winter, but there are ways around it if you ask the managers). They have a clothes line in the common area to hang up clothes. The only linen you have to supply was beach towels. Apart from the bedroom, there aren't many cupboards to store your things and we put most in the bathroom. I liked this place more than Sapphire Court in Tathra. Will most definitely stay here again.

We, (myself, husband, daughter and 2 grandchildren) had booked Esther Lodge for 5 nights, and extended it for another on the last day, for an extra night. Jo and Mark were lovely, very accommodating to our needs, and always eager to please. Unit was lovely and spotlessly clean. Everything is provided, including towels, beds made up and a large kitchen with all appliances and cooking utensils needed. Fantastic position, walking distance to everything, yet very quite. Will always stay here when we visit Tathra!

We looked at a couple of available places neither of which were what we wanted and were told to try Esther Lodge Holiday Units. What a wonderful surprise. Our very pleasant host, Joanne, showed us an upstairs unit which was huge, had everything we needed and was spotless. She kindly put our aircon on, made up an extra bed, and gave us suggestions on where we could eat etc. Her husband Mark (a true gentleman) actually carried up our luggage and made suggestions for the next day. Both were friendly, helpful, and superb hosts. The unit was a fully self contained apartment, tastefully furnished, and very large. The tariff was extremely reasonable and for a similar price elsewhere, was by far, way above the others. I can fully recommend Esther Lodge to anyone looking for comfort at a great price and a quiet location only a couple of minutes walk to the beach.

We stayed at Esther lodge on a trip south in March the apartment was spotless and very comfortable the entire property is a credit to the managers. You could not ask for anything more. Esther lodge is a short stroll to the beach in the very pleasant township of Tathra. We will most definitely be staying there on our next visit. Thankyou

I would highly recommend this place and owners. We wanted some local knowledge for sights and food was was greeted with ample details. The place was central to beach and food and pub. The place was well presented with clean rooms and full kitchen tv area etc. My mate was after a coffee and they brough up a plunger to assist. The town is also very friendly and fat tony's has the best food and service.

My two work colleagues and I stayed at Esther Lodge for what was meant to be 3 days but we extended to 4. This place was a delight to stay from the first warm welcome by Jo and Mark to the cheerful goodbye (and not wanting to leave!). The service: Jo and Mark organised things so we could have three separate beds. Mark told me about the best local, lesser known snorkeling spots and national park highlights. Jo not only recommended the best restaurants but make bookings for us! The apartment: Very clean, nicely furnished, large and roomy. The place was quiet and bed was very comfortable so slept like a brick. The environment: Esther Lodge as a whole was clean, very well kept gardens, beautiful pool, with surrounding friendly families barbecuing and kids playing. There was plenty of room to yourself and off street parking. Plus, walk 5mins and you are on the beach and in the water. I could have a morning swim and get to work. This is not easy if you live in Sydney! Jo and Mark made every effort to help and even followed up when they weren't sure. It isn't often you get service like this. I will be staying here again the first chance I get.

We have been coming to beautiful Tathra since 1971, and have stayed at Esther Lodge for the last 7 years. It is our "Home away from home". It is immaculately clean, there is a wonderful solar heated pool, great barbeque and the surrounding gardens are just beautiful and it is great value for money. Some of our children and grandchildren also come and stay and together we cannot fault the accommodation or the management. We would like to thank Jo and Mark for a wonderful holiday and we look forward to returning in 2017 - counting down the days.
