Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We attended a wedding there last month and we couldn't fault anything.
Cabins were large and extremely clean.
Everything was supplied..
Just bring yourself, food and drinks

The shared communal settings were also ultra clean and had everything you could ever want.

The staff were so friendly and helpful and obviously love working there.

5 stars doesn't seem enough
I highly recommend Kianinny Bush Cottages to anyone, whether you be a single person, a couple or a family....

The cabins are rustic but they have everything that you need to be self-sufficient, clean and comfortable. We brought our own firewood, but we need not have bothered as ther was a tremendous ample supply of wood of all sizes in the wood shed near our cabin. We did not availail ourselves of any of the recreational activities, but they were there if we wanted to use them. Happy, helpful staff. What more to say ?

We just came back from 4 nights stay at the Kianinny. Modest but clean & well maintained cottages, set in the natural bush, far from the crowds but close drive to the coastal towns.

It wasn’t too cold when we’re there. But grandma was travelling with us so we appreciate the heater blanket, reversed aircon and wood fireplace.

We love the facilities for the kids/families, with canoes on the lakes, archery and flying fox over the lake!

Oh, we saw a small grey kangaroo one morning near our cottage.

Will return when we have the chance!

This is just a beautiful place set within serene forest surroundings! My (Superior cabin) was large, clean and well appointed. The cabins are situated around 40-50m from the next one making it very private and quiet from other guests. The service is very friendly and professional. I loved lighting the inside fire each night. The wood heap was only a few metres from my cabin (number 10) making this an easy task. This is a great place for both families and solo travellers with lots of amenities (washing machine/dryers/your own clothesline) and activities onsite. It is just minutes to the beach and everything else this region has to offer - great food, wineries, beaches, hiking trails etc.. I am watching the afternoon sun glisten through the leaves as I write this on my verandah...it feels a world away from everywhere. This place is a gem. I will be back.

So pleased we chose this as our rest/revive place. Friendly informative welcome by Andrew, toasty warm well appointed cabin with welcoming selection of tea and coffee. Although there was a kids camp or something the area is so well planned each cabin is very private. Superb surroundings and very close to beach and amenities at Tathra

Quick few days away in the hols- this is a great spot- so much for the kids to do and also be able to roam around safely. Mountain bike tracks start at the top of the driveway and you are 10 mins from tathra driving. Rooms have had some renovation but all very clean and comfortable. Log fire was an added treat. Staff all going oput of their way to make sure everyone having a good time in torrential rain!

Great bush cabins only minutes from Tathra and some great natural attractions. We stayed so we could do the Kangarutha Trail - a beautiful coastal bushwalk starting just south of Tathra. As it was a pretty cold night, Kianinny Cottages made sure that our heater was on prior to arrival! Brilliant service - a great stay - the cottage had everything we needed including a fireplace and a good supply of wood. Great activities for kids too.

Recently stayed during the Christmas/New Year fire period. Andrew and Che were informative with updates, provided entertainment/food to lift the spirits and ever so helpful at all times. We had to cut short our holiday due to the fires but in the four days there our two children and us parents had a great time canoeing, mini-golf, walks, basketball and more.
We look forward to visiting again in the near future.
Thank you Andrew, Che and all the staff.

Lovely staff, beautiful surroundings and well appointed cottages. They do the little things well and it’s a comfortable stay. Only thing that stopped it being 5 stars was the poor wifi - no internet connection for our stay, which they assured us was an anomaly - but in 2022 you expect it to be a priority.

We recently had an amazing stay with friends at Kianinny.

Positives
* Andrew & Che are 2 of the most accommodating & friendly we've ever met!
* World Class Mini-golf course - Best I've ever played. Played every day we stayed & desperate for more
* Truly integrated with the bushlands. saw many possums, kangaroos & other wildlife
* As a keen mountain biker, directly across the street from some of the best trails I've ridden in Australia.
* Kids loved the flying fox & canooing

Points of consideration
* As the property is on hilly terrain, it is challenging for young children who are new to walking. My 2 year old navigated things very quickly, but a few close calls on the first day or so.

We had a great stay & will be returning. Thanks Andrew & Che for an amazing stay!!
