Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.

I stayed here for a week during October. Initial impressions- clean and spacious. Good amenities - pump dispensers of body wash, shampoo, conditioner etc. Also has a full kitchen and laundry facilities. Plenty of towels plus spares. Single satchel coffee, tea, sugar and biscuits are complementary. A few pots and pans, cutlery and crockery. I wasn’t a fan of the plastic kettle nor the saucepan with nonstick coating extremely damaged (health concerns).
The negatives (possibly only pertains to the terrace that I stayed in)- no wifi. Have talked to the reception a few times and was simply told it’s not something they can fix. Should not be advertised as such if the service can not be provided. My toilet has a very strong drain odour (ie stink) and the bathroom smells of mould, even though it was not visible. The bedroom is bright despite blackout curtains due to the flood lights in the adjacent car park. Being on the main street , it also is prone to traffic noise. Some nights, music and TV (??) were rather loud for hours, coming from adjacent quarters. Of course, this is beyond the control of the hotel but still worth mentioning, as it forms part of the experience.
There is a flight of steps to get up into the terrace from street level, so may be an issue if you have a heavy suitcase.
If you don’t mind a place with some street/other occupant noise, patchy wifi, then this is worth consideration. It is spacious and bright. 10 minute walk into the main shopping centre.

Thank you Anna for taking the time to provide a review. We are pleased to hear you enjoyed your stay in our self contained Terrace Apartment. Our apartments are equipped with everything you need for a short or long term stay, we are glad you liked the facilities available. As mentioned to you on check out, we would have liked to have heard from you during your stay so that we could have fixed any issues you had. Since we were unaware of these details until we read your review, we were unable to help you on this occasion. Thank you for informing us of the condition of the saucepan, we have replaced all pots and pans in this apartment and have undergone a thorough check in all apartments. Our Wi-fi signal does reach our terrace Apartments, hence why we advertise complimentary Wi-fi is available throughout the property. However, we are aware the signal can drop out from time to time so we arranged for our technician to install an upgraded system some months ago but they have been delayed due to the pandemic. The apartments were recently renovated and fitted with all new bathrooms. On top of this, our Housekeeping staff follow a strict cleaning schedule within our property so we are unsure of the 'mould smell' you are referring to. We encourage our guests to be mindful of others around them with their noise levels, however yes this is out of our control unfortunately. Our friendly staff are always on hand to help if our guests require assistance with their luggage, please don't hesitate to ask. We appreciate your feedback and hope to see you again in the near future.

We booked a room to stay 1 night, we are a family of 4 (2 adults, 2 kids) and this hotel was really nice. Is not a fancy place but it is very clean and well maintained, close to the shops (8 minute walk to the shopping centre) has a playground right next door and a park with playground almost behind the building.
I personally loved a detail that other people might not like: our room was in a corner, the windows were facing a wall from the shops next door. I liked this because it means a darker room at night and more privacy, also no noise from cars passing by.
The butter biscuits they give you along with the tea are amazing. The also have eco-friendly soap/shampoo/shaving cream/etc dispensers.

The staff was lovely.

If I ever visit Singleton again, I will definitely book a room here!

Thank you Nia for your wonderful review! We are very pleased to hear you enjoyed your stay with us and liked our Family room and it's position within the motor inn. The new playground next door is definitely a hit with the locals and travelling families. Our convenient location makes for an easy stroll along John Street to the many eateries and shops Singleton has to offer. We are glad you liked our complimentary biscuits and tea and had an enjoyable stay. We look forward to welcoming you back the next time you are in Singleton.

This was our first time staying in Singleton while driving to Brisbane.
We are a family of five, so booked one of their apartments. There was a king bed in one room, a single in another and two singles in the third room. The living space is HUGE with a full kitchen, dining table, lounge and large flat screen TV with full Foxtel channels.
The only downside to this apartment was that it is a little separate from the main motel area and is weird in that it is right above some shops.
We left early the next morning, so don't know if there is any noise from the store below during the day, but just found it a little strange.
The parking for this room was in an empty carpark behind the building. I was not happy with security there. so requested a spot in the main motel carpark instead. The manager was happy to accomodate me with this request and it was only a short walk back to the room from there.
The location is very quiet. It is on a main road, but traffic noise was minimal and the bedrooms were all on the other side of the building anyway.
The free wifi was a bit difficult as it could log you out and then your code would not work anymore - it would be good if the motel could improve this system.
Overall, however, a great place to stay.

Booked a 2 bedroom apartment 7 weeks prior to our arrival we were told it was the last one left, so we gave our credit card details and was sent a booking confirmed email. Then 3 weeks to go before we arrived we were notified by email on Sunday that it was no longer available and were offered a 2 room suite 1 Queen bed in one room and the other queen bed in the lounge room. Very disappointed and phone call would have been nice to tell us why it was no longer available. If we travel to Singleton again will give Mid City Motor Inn a miss, it cannot guarantee accommodation you booked.

Thank you Diane for your feedback. We are sorry to hear you felt the need to write a review without first staying with us. The apartment in question had accidently been double booked and was in fact not available at the time we had taken your booking. This was an error on our end, of which was noticed by our Manager on Sunday. We had offered you the best possible option for a replacement suite of which also included a substantial discount for the trouble caused. By return email, you had decided not to take us up on this special offer and did not give us a chance to make things right for you before providing such an unfair, review, score and rating on our property. You also advised us you had booked another property who provided a better deal than we offered, yet you say you may not be travelling to Singleton after all? Once again we deeply apologies we were unable to accommodate you on this occasion. Our preferred method of contact is through email rather than a phone call, this way we have necessary information recorded. We apologise if you preferred to receive a phone call from us instead. We are human and mistakes happen, when they do occur on the rare occasion we do our utmost best to correct them. It's a shame you will miss out of the wonderful facilities, friendly staff and convenient location we have to offer at the Mid City.

We were reassured by the fact that reception required all guests in the room to have temperature checks upon check-in. The rooms were very clean and sanitised. Location was central with a nice river track running right at the back of the inn.

What an awesome motel in a great location! The lady at the counter on check in was so lovely and helpful, really makes a great start having a great receptionist! She was fabulous!

The room was spotless. Literally not a speck of dust anywhere (we have OCD so would have noticed). Comfortable beds and spacious room. Had everything we needed.

Nothing negative to say about this place. Highly recommend!

Stayed 2 nights at this motel and could not fault.
Exceptionally clean and well appointed.
The freezer in the fridge was defrosted allowing to put bricks in as we have to carry medication.
A very easy walk to go shopping to Big W etc.
As I work in the industry would have no hesitation in recommending this property.
Keep up the good work.10/10.

We stayed here for a night on our way back to Sydney and were so happy to discover such a clean and modern room. Our small kids loved the pool (even though it was freezing in May!) and ran around the room with excitement.

Literally just next door to the motel is a large playground where we were able to cook dinner and have the kids run off some every.

Highly recommended.
