Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Beware ! I booked this hotel they confirmed the booking and then a month later they emailed me trying to change the price.. they emailed saying unless I agreed to the new price they would cancel my booking. I queried this with the booking provider, and although I didn’t think it was right would have agreed that everyone makes mistakes. A month later again I get an email saying they needed to cancel the booking as they were overbooked ! Very poor , no integrity. Couldn’t even tell the truth and confirm if I would pay the increase ! I don’t usually complain or post reviews but this is just wrong . Beware they may change the price in you or cancel your booking !

Well this place was a surprise , Ye we grabbed what room we could for our weekend of the 17th of June 2022 as it was packed but we thought oh dear what have we done . But the staff were fantastic, had some difficulty with english but crikey they looked after us. The restaurant was the best ever and such large servings and it licenced. We celebrated a late fathers day weekend and went to the air museum the next day all within short driving distance. I have only the highest praise for this place and I will stay there again. Good on you Colonial you made my weekend xxxxx

This was a very average country motel with little updates since seemingly the 1980s. It is an acceptable place to stay. There is a Thai restaurant on site with meals in quality varying from not fit for consumption to quite nice. The cost of the motel is not commensurate with its average quality at $159 a night.

The rooms are fine - clean and comfortable. The bathroom was clean and plenty of hot water for the shower - getting into the shower was tricky because the shower door opened against the toilet, leaving a narrow aperture. Lots of towels. Doors open directly onto the carpark, so in cold, wet weather it could be dire. But there is an air con which keeps rooms warm. Staff are friendly, helpful and accommodating. Breakfast is huge! The rooms are expensive for what you get, however.

We have been travelling around NSW for a bit of a road trip. Booked our stay here, clean room if a bit dated. Only comment really is it was about $20 dearer than other motels we had been staying in and quality wasnt quite as good.

A clean and comfortable motel with good facilities. It has a restaurant which we did not try as had other arrangements already. A good variety available for breakfast. The train noise takes a bit of getting used to!

My son and I stayed overnight on our way home from Sydney to Cairns. We found the room to be very clean and tidy with everything necessary for weary travellers. The hotel is conveniently located and the beds comfortable. We arrived late in the evening and Mel at reception was very helpful, pleasant and welcoming. Check in and check out was easy. If you are looking for a good valued motel with welcoming staff I would recommend Colonial Motor Lodge.

The room was quite spacious with all the necessary fittings, including a DVD player and space for luggage plus a choice of pillows and a soft-top mattress. It is a block off the highway so it was quiet, though a town bypass is now under construction. This motel is quite large, and Jimmy Thai (From Aberdeen RSL Club) operates the restaurant for breakfast and dinner, which we enjoyed. FoxTel and free wi-fi were provided. At next upgrade we'd like to see water economy increased by fitting a dual-flush cistern and water miser shower head.
