Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

A good and convenient location with clean, spacious, comfortable and well set out rooms. Some crockery, cutlery and a microwave are included. Thai restaurant and lounge bar onsite. Mine host Julie was very proficient, courteous and helpful. I will be back again.

The rooms are fine - clean and comfortable. The bathroom was clean and plenty of hot water for the shower - getting into the shower was tricky because the shower door opened against the toilet, leaving a narrow aperture. Lots of towels. Doors open directly onto the carpark, so in cold, wet weather it could be dire. But there is an air con which keeps rooms warm. Staff are friendly, helpful and accommodating. Breakfast is huge! The rooms are expensive for what you get, however.

One night stay here. Room was good size with microwave and good size fridge. Located a short drive from the main part of the town.
Bathroom badly in need of an upgrade. Automatic exhaust fan switches on with light so with no heating in the bathroom and a flimsy shower curtain only not an enclosed shower cubicle makes for a very chilly time in the shower on a cold day.
Close to the railway line with large freight trains passing and sounding their horns during the night.
Would stay somewhere else if we ever returned to Scone.

Beware ! I booked this hotel they confirmed the booking and then a month later they emailed me trying to change the price..
they emailed saying unless I agreed to the new price they would cancel my booking.
I queried this with the booking provider, and although I didn’t think it was right would have agreed that everyone makes mistakes.
A month later again I get an email saying they needed to cancel the booking as they were overbooked !
Very poor , no integrity. Couldn’t even tell the truth and confirm if I would pay the increase !
I don’t usually complain or post reviews but this is just wrong . Beware they may change the price in you or cancel your booking !

This was a very average country motel with little updates since seemingly the 1980s. It is an acceptable place to stay. There is a Thai restaurant on site with meals in quality varying from not fit for consumption to quite nice. The cost of the motel is not commensurate with its average quality at $159 a night.

Well this place was a surprise , Ye we grabbed what room we could for our weekend of the 17th of June 2022 as it was packed but we thought oh dear what have we done . But the staff were fantastic, had some difficulty with english but crikey they looked after us. The restaurant was the best ever and such large servings and it licenced. We celebrated a late fathers day weekend and went to the air museum the next day all within short driving distance. I have only the highest praise for this place and I will stay there again. Good on you Colonial you made my weekend xxxxx

We have been travelling around NSW for a bit of a road trip. Booked our stay here, clean room if a bit dated. Only comment really is it was about $20 dearer than other motels we had been staying in and quality wasnt quite as good.

Stayed in Rm16. Had to find someone to check in. Superficially tidy, but that's it. Bed mattress was old and collapsing, like a rock to lay on. Sofa has collapsed underneath and had filth under the cushions. Half a role of toilet paper only and no staff to get more. Open access to rat baits, so dangerous for children. Shower so revolting we wouldn't use it. And the head was so low you need to be shorter than 5'5" to get under it. Iron leaked over clothes as it has a crack on the base. Fridge chocked up to level with a bit of plastic. Time for some serious renovations.

Near new motel with good size rooms, modern facilities & in the middle of everything. Very friendly owner who is knowledgeable about the area. Great place to stay. Motel is being expanded to double the size.

The male person in reception was friendly and engaged with us; had a cute and loveable and talkative toddler with him! The room we were given had dark grey carpet, was quite large with a queen size bed, table and 2 chairs, sofa, TV, fridge, microwave, large closet and aircon. The bathroom looks very dated but is very clean with an old fashioned toilet and shower with curtains which I have not seen for a long time. The bed squeaks badly and there was hammering with the hot water in the shower. The milk was in an OJ container and the room was close to the main highway where we could sometimes hear the trains. Positives are - the room is clean - no dust found anywhere, have our own car space, water pressure is very strong, and the shower is not one of those energy saving ones which prick your skin. Overall, good value for your money.
