What a disappointing experience. We went to have high tea for my mothers 75 the birthday and the terrible food really spoiled her birthday. We went a few years ago and it was delicious and a delightful experience but the change of hands has really changed things. We had a few over cooked scones, over cooked meringues and strawberries dipped... More

We loved our stay at the Robertson Hotel! Thank you Lotty for a warm, lovely experience, and to your staff for your kind helpfulness. Nothing was too much of a problem. We loved the beautiful hotel and the gardens, the fabulous food, friendly approachable staff and stunning surrounds. We will be back! You all helped make this a memorable special... More

Stayed for one night over a weekend... Staff were great and did what they could but the hotel was clearly understaffed... Property is a little outdated and in need of improvements but has some great character and charm regardless Restaurant service was ridiculously slow.. but again no fault of staff who were extremely apologetic Could be such a great weekender!!

My husband and I have just returned from a weekend at the Robertson Hotel. This was our second visit, the first being a weekend in early July with another couple for the Christmas in July dinner. The first experience left a lot to be desired, but I'm not going to dwell on that, because our return stay was brilliant. We... More

We arrived at the Robertson Hotel to stay last week-end as we were attending a party close by . Check in was smooth. We were surprised at the dilapidated state of the garden. Pool was green with algae and closed, but it was too cold to swim anyway. We were shown to our room which was spartan, but we'd be... More

We held our wedding at this majestic venue. What an amazing location, with grandeur, class and an ambience that we found to be priceless. Management (Lotty) was absolutely wonderful, prior ensuring she answered all queries efficiently helping us to feel at ease before and during the day. To the management at the hotel, and to anyone considering holding a wedding... More

As there was a Private function we were unable to use the bar or dining facility. Walked (20 minutes) into town for dinner. Our room placement was directly above the party/function room. Hotel knew we were not part of the function. Could have put us on the second floor away from the function room. Music stopped at 12am & noise... More

Beautifully building and grounds. Let down by detail. Eg. Ironing boards and irons left in the hallway, communal showers need to be MUCH cleaner than what they are at present (talking about the 2nd floor ladies showers), wonderful dinner but served on cold plates, staff too casual. Also, there is no toilets in the rooms.

Unfortunately this place is run by a lady named Lotti who a lot of the guests found rude and she couldn't crack a smile. We got there a day earlier to set up the table decorations only for them to forget to order the table clothes for the wedding. They sorted it out but weren't ready for me to set... More

We spent Saturday night for a gorgeous weekend wedding at the Robertson. It's got the old hotel charm, staff were pleasant and friendly, the grounds were gorgeous. I couldn't complain about this place since my expectations were managed. Only a few rooms had suites while the other rooms were communal bathroom and toilets. Even tho we were in the Heritage...
