Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

What an amazing hotel. The building is beautiful and you feel like your back in time. The staff was also very friendly and the room was perfect. Would definitely stay here again. The area is perfect to see all the waterfalls and the beautiful nature.

Sadly, this was the worst high tea I’ve ever had. The cucumber & mayo sandwich was heavy & partially defrosted, the pumpkin arancini ball was tasteless, the quiche very ordinary, the chicken pie was ok, the short crust tarts and cakes were soft and broke as we served them. The scones were lovely but the jam was thin and runny and the cream was a light brown colour with the consistency similar to whipped cream from a can. The hotel is charming but completely misses the mark with their high tea.

No electric blankets or spare blankets in room. Staff came up to check heater was on. It wasn't. Gave me a new heater it didn't work either. Shower head kept kept flopping into the wall in both showers. I couldn't have a shower. Being woken up at 10pm by a very loud crashing noise continued the bad experience. It was staff throwing a large pile of bottles into a skip bin. Things got worse at breakfast with a toaster that didn't work and having to carry food through 3 rooms to get to the dining room. The list goes on but I won't.

Staying in such an interesting and historical building with friendly, attentive staff was something we will never forget. We could well have been guests in an Agatha Christie novel with all the various characters and scenarios. Spacious, comfy rooms and delightful cuisine were a bonus. Thank you.

We booked our room 6 months prior to the dates we wanted which were to celbrate our 40th wedding anniversary. Our marrige was held at this venue in December 1983. Our booking was cancelled by the hotel 3 weeks prior via email with no explanation. Needless to say we were extremely disappointed with both the cancellation and the method of communication. We would never recommend this venue for anyone because you cannot guarantee that your booking would be fulfilled even though the payment has to be made at the time of booking.

Stayed here for the Xmas in july dinner and decided on booking the King deluxe as a treat. After forking out well over $500 a couple for the experience it was extremely disappointing. The room was so overrated yes a huge room with no kettle, an urn was outside on the landing with a bucket below it to catch the drips, a $2 kmart clothes hanger, bad odour in the bathroom, windows were broken. Just really disappointing for the price! The dinner was a disgrace felt like we had the leftovers from the pensioners in the bus who came for lunch! Absolutely disgusting! The best thing about the place was the harp player! The staff were miserable and it showed. Had to pay extra for breakfast which really should have been included in the price! Breakfast was cold and the room was freezing and on the verandah was freezing. The fires were on it was pretty bad. To top it off I won the lucky door prize, still waiting for it! Sorry so disappointing it was on our list for so long. Wont be back seriously dont bother!

We visited for afternoon tea and had a delightful experience. Asked to be moved from dining room to the lounge where we could sit in comfort. Delicious afternoon tea and good service. Hard recommend. Thanks.

Like most places in the Southern Highlands, the Robertson Hotel is blessed with the natural beauty of established gardens and beautiful scenery of the area, however, unfortunately this is its only redeeming quality. The Robertson hotel is extremely run down, dirty and is in serious need of some TLC and work to upgrade rooms and facilities. Bedrooms do not contain the most basic or amenities such as fans, air conditioning, kettle, iron, hair dryer etc. Bedrooms are terribly dirty with stained carpet, walls, bathroom and furniture. The bed was incredibly uncomfortable and squeaky. Linen and towels were old and worn. There was an odour during our stay which some guests attributed to the plumbing and based on previous reviews I suspected the same. The add insult to injury, the staff were incompetent and plain rude and offensive. After locking our key in the room, the front desk made a big issue of having to re-issue a replacement; scolding and chastising my wife. The attitude from staff when asking basic questions or making requests made our entire party feel very unwelcome. We stayed for a function and noticed the level of service was extremely poor and staff were impossible to find when you need them. The food was below average in our experience. From the outside, the Robertson hotel looks pretty but it’s riddled with issues beyond the front doors. Save your money and spend it elsewhere, trust me! And trust the other reviews here. Money wasted.

Not the best experience for vaue for money. Arrived at the hotel with bags had to walk up 3 flights of stairs without any help from staff.Room was old and stuffy hand basin was out of order toilet didn't flush well no air conditioning or a fan in the room luckily it wasn't a hot day. Noisy room boards creeking all night from people's movements,no kettle in the rooms to make a cuppa,no mini fridge, old uncomfortable beds.Car park was a challenge people have to park all over the place on side of track or in the surrounding gardens i parked in a make do car park down near the front entrance, more like a paddock. Next morning the gardener was doing the lawn whipper snippering in front of my new white car and sprayed it with wet grass stuck all over the front of my car as well as stone chips.Rang up to explain what had happened to my car and that the gardener should be more aware, they said the manager will ring me back ? Still waiting I guess the care factor is none.
