Was in Picton for a night of fun with some mates and their wives. We decided to go to the George and was pleasantly surprised to find the old beer was back on tap the lager and the bock, we sat inside and had a plate of cold meats and cheeses with heirloom tomatoes, fantastic with the beers and wines...

Thank you BulaBay73 for taking the time to provide positive feedback . We are so thrilled that you had a wonderful experience at the George IV Inn. This is definitely the level of service we aim to provide. We look forward to having a beer with you the next time you pop in.

I've been an occasional visitor to 'The George' for over 20 years. It once was a unique and lovely place to spend a few hours. There once was no TAB, no poker machines and only the local pub brew to drink. The new owners have installed a TAB, poker machines and commercial beers, though the old Scharer's brew can still...

Thank Mark F for taking the time to provide helpful feedback. We r glad that u appreciate and embrace the history of the hotel as much as we do, and we do our best to preserve its heritage. Sometimes it is important to diversify. We have a new chef commencing in April so there will be exciting changes made to...

Look I would go again, but the wife would not. The food was good; the Guinness great; the locals friendly; but they don't tell you that the toilets are outside (no ensuites); that the rooms need a refresh (but hay that is character); and that you won't get an early night as the regulars don't clear out until well after...

Thank you Andrew P for taking the time to provide feedback. We are pleased you enjoyed the food, atmosphere and of course the Guinness! We apologise for the challenge your wife endured regarding the bathroom located at the end of all the rooms. Unfortunately because due to the heritage nature of the pub we are unable to provide ensuites for...

Decided to forgo the motorway fare and chose Picton to find a lunch venue. The George IV Inn filled the bill brilliantly. Great old style pub ambience, albeit a quiet afternoon atmosphere, with lovely prints of past stars and such (Paul Newman, Steve McQueen etc) on the walls and one bar lined with hundreds of different beer bottles. A few...

Great old pub, well established, locals friendly... but the manager was the most unfriendly... She had obviously decided it was her way or no way. A touch too many as well I think?? I wouldn't recommend a return visit. I did leave a complaint but no answer to date.

Just dropped in for a meal whilst passing through. Staff were friendly, but the meals took quite a while despite there being very little patronage eating. (over an hour) My meal was nice. It was chorizo sausage with sweet potato mash and veg. I really recommend. My sons meal had hair in it. My wife's meal was incorrect, and when...

Stopped here for a couple of hours, very country like pub. I really liked the historical side to the place, its one of Australia's oldest inns and one of a few that are still trading today . It still has a display of the old copper brewery filters from the old days. Very trendy. The bistro was very stylish with...

Old style charm was lovely here. Vines over the outdoor eating area were cute. Facilities were old but fine. Rooms were reasonable although a few extra blankets/pillows in the cupboards would have been handy. Little fridge if you wanted to bring anything with you too. Staff were ok. Pub got quite roady on the Friday night (as you'd expect!) so...

This historic hotel is a great place to stop for a beer on a sunny day. It also has a great menu & beer garden. You can sit out on the front porch & watch the world go by, or watch a wonderful array of motorbikes come and go, as the area provides some great riding for bike enthusiasts. Unfortunately...
