Detailed Reviews
I was fortunate to have my Aunt transfer her share in this lodge late in the season, after hearing about it for some years, so I wanted to try it out and see what it was like. I haven't stayed in the snow for over 35 years, and have only just started skiing again after 33 years! Barina Milpara is the place to stay, and is very conveniently located to the lifts - we loved skiing down the hill in the morning to catch the lift. Whilst original in its décor, the lodge has a warm friendly feel, with lovely home cooked breakfasts and dinners each day by the friendly host and manager Janine. Having a glass of wine in front of the large open fire place after a hard day's skiing was another highlight. The heated floors in the new ensuite bathroom and toilet was a welcome touch to the room.

So pleased that you enjoyed your stay! It's a great bonus being able to ski down to the lifts and have Hans bring you back up to the Lodge after a full day's skiing. Also knowing that a hearty dinner will be served after a day's exercise, is a welcoming thought. I hope that we see you and your friends back next year.

We just spent 4 nights at Barina Milpara Lodge and I couldn't rate it highly enough. From the minute we walked in from the free oversnow transport at the end of the first day skiing we were made to fee so welcome. Janine met us at the door and greeted us by name. The lodge is warm and friendly and the food is truly amazing.
Comfortable beds and lovely hot showers in the gorgeously renovated bathroom (which has the nice surprise of underfloor heating) to the great drying room to the roaring fire you really can't go wrong.
Oh and did I mention the food yum and plenty of it.
Ski out in the morning and then the free oversnow at the end of the day is very much appreciated.
Thank you Janine we will definitely be back.

I have been staying at Barina Milperra now for quite a few years during the Winter Season. Each visit my family and I have enjoyed all of its facilities - with Ski Out and over-snow back to the lodge its the best place we have ever stayed. With a conveniently located Ski/Board storage room leading into a drying room for those days you just need to dry your gear and warm your boots for the next day. Our evenings consist if wine in front of the open wood fire with great people, dinning is an experience in itself - Janine the host has been here for a few years now and not a meal has been disliked.
Can't wait till our next trip!

I've been visiting the snow for some 23 yrs but never stayed ON SNOW, so was unaware of what to expect in this experience. What I did experience was worth the money I paid, highly recommend and would definitely go back and stay again without a 2nd thought.
THE HOST - Janine (the real gem in the lodge) gave us such a warm welcoming as we arrived and gave us the layout of the lodge. She was easy to talk to and deal with and more than accommodating in anything we asked and nothing was a problem. Janine keeps the place beautifully clean and made the stay feel relaxed and like you were staying with family. I cannot speak highly enough of Janine who made our stay such a pleasurable experience.
ROOMS -The rooms have a layout that maintain enough space to move around easily yet still keep it cosy and more than adequately heated, with the new addition of heated floors in both the toilet and shower rooms.
FACILITIES - The common room allows you to just sit around and play games if you wish or lounge with a drink and chat with other members by an open fire place.
There is a real drying room located downstairs that actually dries your ski attire irrespective of the prior days conditions.
MEALS - If you want to eat like a king, Janine is the queen of dinner. All dinners (3 courses) were cooked to an exceptional restaurant quality that would impress Gordon Ramsey with flavours that excite a party in your mouth. #can cook
LOCATION - I really don't think this needs any explanation

Staying on snow is certainly the way to go! Barina Milpara is well placed to accommodate both downhill and cross country skiers with the trails passing right past the lodge. There's nothing quite like returning 'home' in the afternoon after a day's skiing and enjoying the quiet relaxing conversation around the fire with a glass of red and anticipation of the delicious meal to come! Thanks for reviewing:)

This is a family oriented lodge with comfortable accommodation and great food (full board).
The staff are really helpful and there is a friendly atmosphere in this small and cost lodge.
Ski out in the morning and over snow transfers are included in the afternoon.
A great choice but you need to book early.

2015 marked my 20th anniversary of staying at Barina. The lodge has evolved over those years and found the right balance of family friendly and comfort. Under the excellent management of Janine this is a well run and extremely welcoming lodge. Dinners and breakfast are excellent so don't expect to lose any weight after a hard week of skiing or riding.
The rooms are basic but comfortable with a variety of configurations to meet the needs of a family or couple and all come with their own bathroom. In almost all seasons you can ski out of the lodge all the way to the bridge across from the Perisher Centre and then an oversnow shuttle to take you back to the lodge at the end of the day. Hopefully I can look forward to at least another 20 years of skiing at Barina.

After 15 years of staying at the lodge for my yearly ski trip it is long overdue for a review. Food and service from Janine the lodge host is superb, she will make anyone feel comfortable. The lodge itself is very clean with a large fireplace to relax after a day on the mountain. Best place on the mountain, I will be back again next year

First of all I will declare my conflict of interest that I am a shareholder in the lodge and a member of the board of directors. Having said that the reason why I became a shareholder and have taken my family to stay at Barina for every year for the past 8 years is that it is a great family ski lodge, the people are friendly, welcoming and the food and management from Janine is absolutely top notch - my kids are always excited about going skiing as they look forward to Janine's cooking so much. Evenings are always fun and welcoming as children play cards and board games together and the adults sit around the fire enjoying a bottle or two as the stories on the day's skiing adventures grow.

There is a washing machine and dryer available for guests to use free of charge.
There is no overnight parking at Perisher. Most people park there car at Bullocks Flat and catch the ski tube train up to the mountain. I have used the overnight parking at Bullocks Flat many times and never had any security problems.
The lodge is fully booked for the nights of August 22 and 23 but there are rooms available on the other nights. There are two rooms currently available from the 24th if that suits you.
