Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Just had an awesome 3 days at Perisher staying at Swagman Chalet. The rooms aren't large but they're clean and comfortable with good doonas, thick towels and comfy beds. The meals were especially good and served quite early which suited us for the kids. With snow cat drop off and pick up, there was no real disadvantage to being a 10 minute walk from the Valley Centre. The staff were lovely and nothing seemed to be a trouble. I would definitely stay here again.

We stayed here for one night in early August with our 2.5 year old son. After a week in Jindabyne we wanted him to experience waking up in the snow, and what a great spot to do it! This is a beautiful, friendly and authentic lodge with lovely hosts. The provided food was lovely, the bar was well stocked with great beers and it was very relaxing by the open fire. Although smallish, the rooms are very clean and comfortable and we were more than happy. Would highly recommend this lodge for a great snow experience!

Perfect place for skiers, boarders and those who love to wake in the snow on the mountain. Silke and John ensure your stay is memorable. Rooms small but plenty of storage space for 3 adults. Comfortable, clean, warm room and beds. Having hand basin outside bathroom makes life easier. Food excellent, even morning and afternoon tea if you venture back to the chalet. John available for pick up and drop off all day. Drying room best we have had on 4 continents. Plenty of space in ski room, pus Toilet in basement makes everything that bit better. We will be back.

This is the ideal ski chalet for serious skiers. Get up at 7 a.m., look out your window at the snow and the sky, have a filling delicious hot and cold breakfast. Down to the drying room. Suit up. John delivers you right at the snow either by Snowcat or Snowmobile for the first lift. Ski all day. John picks you up. Luxurious showers with oodles of hot water. Plate-licking three-course meals that consistently satisfied even our fussy eater. Read sprawled across comfortable lounge next to the log fire Well-equipped bar with hosts Silke and John Kids have fun upstairs in the games loft. Collapse into bed by 10 p.m.. Do the same the next day. Heaven!

John and Silke make the stay a Swagmans an unforgettable experience. The chalet is a comfortable 3 star residence, clean and has all you need, especially for a family holiday. But there are some little extras that put them above the pack. Firstly there is the convenience of John delivering and pick you up at any time day or night. The kids games room is thoughtfully set out and yet not remote from the rest of the family. The meals breakfast and dinner included are beautifully prepared and special requests (e.g. vegetarian) are well catered for . The bar and fire are warm and friendly. Highly recommended for family and reasonably priced couples accommodation with snow at the door.

We had a really lovely stay at Swagman Chalet and Silke and John were great hosts. John ferried us all back and forth to the slopes everyday. The food was really good and the common areas were nice and the kids had a great time. The only drawback was the size of our room for 5 people - it was very small and the bathroom was also tiny and there was nowhere to put anything - it would be useful to have some shelves or a cupboard in the bathroom. Other than that it was a really great holiday in a really great spot.

- very family friendly - Comfortable and warm rooms and beds - lots of great communal areas to hang out including Xbox room;games/kids movie area; pool table area, comfy couches around a toasty log fire near the bar and more tvs - showing skiing/snowboarding movies - yummy breakfast and amazing restaurant quality 3 course dinner; special kids meals - help yourself tea & coffee station with biscuits, fresh home baked muffins and fruit bowl - friendly hosts who are not in your face - on demand transfers to and from the lifts so you don't have to waste precious energy - ski/board storage room - drying room with racks for boots, hangers for jackets, and a dedicated pegboard for gloves & beanies Very happy with my choice to stay here for a short family getaway, wish we could stay longer, and as a travel agent for 17 years I'm VERY fussy.

My sister and i stayed here for a few nights along with my 3 children. Apart from the accommodation being a little small and cramped for 5 people the lodgings make up for it in other ways. There is an upstairs lounge area with XBox and plenty of assorted games to keep the kids occupied. There is a pool table, TV, DVD player and a decent collection of DVDs to choose from to watch for free, not to mention the stacks of board games to keep you occupied and entertained. Breakfast and dinner is included and the food is lovely. The staff go above and beyond to cater to the fussy tastes of young children. The Swagman is located just a few hundred metres from the Perisher ski slopes where u can ski on and off right from the lodgings front door.
