This is a perfect couples getaway in great location. Not too close to hustle of Nelson Bay marina, but easy 5 min walk

Hosts of the B&B are great.

Rooms are immaculate. Lovely breakfast.

Would recommend and definitely stay here again.

We spontaneously booked this as a last minute holiday after New Years. Really glad we did! The owner is a very helpful guy called Bruce, and you can tell he loves the area and what he does. When we first arrived he went through aerial photos of the area, pointing out the best beaches and telling us about all the walking paths around.

We stayed in the Garden Room, and couldn't help but chuckle a bit at the name. I was expecting garden views, but I think the name was actually the theme for the room as there isn't much garden to speak of on that side. The bedding and curtains were matching floral print and there were numerous other little touches and trinkets, all contributing to a very country gardens feel to the room without being at all overpowering.

There were lots of lovely personal touches, like free plunger coffee in the room (good coffee always wins me over) and complimentary port supplied near the brochures/information table. Breakfast was quite good - he provided a decent selection of breads and cereals, then also brought to our table bowls of fruit salad and a couple of different flavoured yoghurts. The only thing I would suggest as an improvement is to offer a variety of milk and sugar choices - I'm not a fan of full cream milk or white sugar, I used them but wished I'd had other options.

I would have loved to give this place full marks, but a few things let me down. The toaster used at breakfast sorely needs replacing and the bar fridge in our room was prone to loud clunky noises every now and then. Also around 10.30pm the first night, something happened to short out a fuse, not just for us but everyone in the building. Bruce came and sorted it out but it just seems like the sort of thing that shouldn't really happen in the first place. It just felt overall like some things could do with being updated or replaced. Also the security was a bit questionable - the lock to our room was a simple push-button lock, and we had to make sure to remember to lock doors behind us as we went.

It was a really lovely trip regardless of the small blips, and I must add that the location is absolutely fantastic. Quiet street only a few minutes walk from the marina and main restarurant street, and the best bit is that there's access to a walking track with ocean views. Much better than walking down a normal road! Definitely give this place a shot.

We stayed here for 2 nights in the spa room at the top it is spacious and beautiful very relaxing.
I think Bruce does a marvellous job there hosting and looking after his guests he is very helpful and hard working.
The breakfast provided is very nice and quite filling.
We like the off street parking and the fact we could walk into town for dinner without the need of transport.
Good quality all round
Thankyou Bruce we would recommend this to anyone we know

Checked in for 3 nights in the Deluxe Suite with Spa Bath and Private Lounge Room - except Owner has accessed to the lounge area!!!! Found strands of Hair on Pillow and Bed Sheet in the first night - we offered to change the Sheets ourselves cos' Owner - Bruce keeps telling us that his wife is away and that he's alone in managing. When we checked in we were told that we need to use the same bath towels over the 3 nights - in a Deluxe Spa Suite??? Otherwise use dryer in the room - we weren't too impressed :( Though Bruce did try to make up by offering us a bottle of red - which we left behind!!! Having paid premium price for Deluxe Spa Suite – would expect cleanliness and comfort of Clean Sheets and Changed Bath Towels daily..

Well presented B&B and worthy of the independent 4.5 stars.

The location is very convenient, quiet and set amongst quality properties.

Brucevthe host is great and good for a chat about anything local you enquire about. We didn't try the breakfast on offer as we prefer to get ino town such is th invention location. What was on offer however seemed fine regardless.

The lack of a decent ironing board was an issue for us. Using one of those miniature boards that needs to be set on a table (or small wooden chest as in our case) made for a frustrating and tedious ironing experience.

Would I stay again? Yes

Room Tip: Ask Bruce if you can swap the ironing board in the room for the one he uses!

Just the place to stay. Bruce, the host gave us valuable information regarding the location and its highlights to visit and taste food! The room was very spacious, clean, and all that we required for my wife and I. A very pleasant experience. We stayed for 3 days!
