Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Stayed one night. No one on site for checkin, took two phone calls to get an answer and another 5 minutes to receive a check in code to allow access to the room. Rooms are VERY old and mismatched. Shower head is healed together with duct tape (literally), light switch is difficult to find and access as it’s hidden behind a home made cupboard. The bathroom has no ventilation so everything ends up wet and freezing cold . On the upside the room was pretty clean and the location is ok. I’d stay again but only if there wasn’t another option. There are much better options available for similar $.

We booked a ground floor room for an overnight stay, on our journey home to Queensland. The booking was made on line for a ground floor room and payment was required on booking, it was not cheap$180. . Arriving at the motel we were greeted with a tired and rubdown building. . Reception was unattended, a text message had been sent with a unit number and entry code. In accessing the room the carpet was disgusting and furnishings not much better. Towel & bed linen looked clean. We rang motel contact number and ask for refund. No refund was offered. Change of room was offered however !st floor with no lift. 1st floor is problem for us as we are elderly. Had no option but to accept room change. Room was a little better.DO NOT BOOK AT THIS MOTEL

We booked in this hotel because we bought it through Travel Auctions. The deal was very cheap. It’s needs a little renovation. Basic room for its price. The room is very dark. No staff on site. The reception txt us the code while we traveling, so we can get it the room. It’s in a very good location. Walking distance to the shopping centre and restaurant.

Its door the security lock/chain missing - photo 4. Patio hard to slide - track corroded 5. No real air flow through unit - except via air conditioner 6. Kitchen, no sink, cupboard drawers broken & unusable - photo 7. Bathroom, sink tap leaks, cupboard broken, floor tiles broken & shower tray chipped 8. Bathroom again the flyscreen was so dirty that no air flow - photo 9. Wifi difficult to logon & warning says possible insecure access 10. Main room light switch part hidden by vertical cupboard Positives Bed was fair, Good TV & Good Microwave Overall for $120 per night I would never stay here again Sure businesses have been hit hard during Covid-19, but the faults here are years old

This motel doesn’t even deserve half a star, my boyfriend and I went away to Nelson bay for a weekend and booked a room at this place for $198 (due to last minute booking everything else are already booked out and this place was the only one left on Agoda so we booked through there) very disappointed as we checked in the room was so dirty and smelly, dampness carpet smell, very dusty, the bathroom just so gross and very disgusting looks like somewhere in the slum, (my boyfriend took some pictures and videos of the room for future evidence), we couldn’t force ourselves to stay the night there so we walked down to the reception and asked for the refund the lady at the reception that checked us in (at her mid late 60s or early 70s I believe, this place hotel or neither motel, it’s so dodgy it’s just a family business). She wasn’t happy with our complaint but still offered to refund anyways, when she was going to do a refund she was like “oh sorry you booked you a third party you have to contact Agoda for a refund” so we have no issue with that, we then emailed and called Agoda, and this process has been going for over 2 weeks now and this old lady refused to give a refund, I just don’t understand how someone can twisted her word just like that very unprofessional and no humanity respect for anyone neither herself! Over 2 weeks of many emails and phone calls with Agoda she still refused to give a refund! This is not even our fault, and if the room was clean and reach the expectation as in the pictures I wouldn’t fighting to get our money back, this is the motel fault and responsibility for this and to serve consumer with the right service. I did go back to the motel and chase back our money and she demised everything she said before when we asked for a refund back on that day. Lucky I knew that I will be dealing with someone like this, so I took a video and record the whole conversation with the lady when I went back today. I will be taking this to legal action and report to NSW Fair Trading for consumers right. If you are on our side and think we are right please help and share this. I will be posting a video of the conversation between me and her on TikTok, Instagram Facebook, YouTube and all other social media so you all can see what she look like aswell as how she’s dealing and speaking to me.

This was a middle of the road place to stay. The manageress was friendly and helpful. Our room was reasonably small, but it was clean and tidy and well serviced. no problems with bed or bedding. For my wife and I, it was an idea medium priced place to stay for a couple of nights. It is close to shops, dining and other attractions, many within walking distance -- 10 - 15 minutes.

I had booked two nights as the last step in our road trip. I booked based on the photos provided by booking.com and comments made for that motel. We ended up staying the one night and cutting our trip short. Pros: the lady at the reception was friendly, and she rang us to see if there was anything wrong as she had found our key in the key safe. The bed, despite sagging in the middle, was comfortable. Another plus was the location, it was only a short walk to get to the marina, so a big plus for the location. Cons: the room was tiny, someone had obviously smoked on the balcony while the doors were open, which meant the room stank of both smoke and musty. The furniture is dismal, with a garden setting in the room, the rest of the cabinetry is of cheap boards that are screwed into the brick walls, nothing fits, you have to slide your hand behind the cupboard to reach the light switch. The bathroom is so dated I couldn’t bring myself to take a shower (mildew). The carpets throughout the room were filthy I just couldn’t take off my shoes!!! The bedding linen was rough - someone had made the comment that it felt like sand paper ... I concur. I am sorry for the lady that looks after the place, because she was definitely a lovely human being! Pictures are from Room 12 - I can not vouch for the other rooms at this motel.

Staff are very friendly. Rooms are clean and tidy. Perfect for what we needed. Great location. Lovely little pool and birds all around. Very happy with our choice, there are more expensive places but this motel gives you what you need for a fraction of the price
