Detailed Reviews
This was our first stay at the park and we were very happy to have chosen it. We actually did a drive throughout Port Stephens weeks before and chose this park The location is really good with easy walks into Nelson Bay as well as Shoal Bay.
The staff provided such amazing customer service and made the whole booking process easy. Throughout our two weeks here, each staff person was so welcoming and helpful. Well done!
The amenities are new and well planned so each 'side' of the area can be cleaned without shutting down access completely. What a great idea. They were spotless and with Covid 19 restrictions in place, it was good to see such a strong commitment to cleaning.
The sites are good with some lovely big double concrete slabs. Some of the roads are quite narrow which could make accessing some sites with a big van challenging. We were out of any holiday period so the weekly rate was very good though suggest you book ahead if possible as its a very popular park.
This is a pet friendly park out of peak holiday times and all pets we had contact with were well managed so no hassle at all.
We've already booked our next stay here. Easy drive from Sydney and the Central Coast.

Stayed there for 1 night and we really enjoyed our time. The place was clean and comfortable enough for 2 adults and 1 children. Just make sure you bring extra mineral water, tissue and hand soap because they dont provide it.
We also like the location, beach is just within 2 minutes of walking and not too overcrowded like in main road of Nelson Bay.

We spent 2 nights camping at Halifax before Christmas but wish we had extended our stay! Extremely close to Shoal Bay and Little beach. Even though it was peak season the park didn’t feel crowded and you never had to wait to use facilities.
The shower/bathroom facilities were brand new and very clean. They also have an indoor kitchen facility with new appliances if you need or forget to bring something with you. I truely felt like I was glamping!
The park has lots of other great facilities for families and kids. You will never get bored!
The park is secure with unique codes to access the beach right at your door step.
Highly recommend!

Have stayed at this park before but it has been extensively improved. Easy access caravan sites with double concrete pads and the best amenities my wife and I have experienced. Nestled between two beaches with direct gated access, fabulous indoor heated camp kitchen and outdoor bbq area and two in park dump sites.
Easy walk to Nelsons Bay CBD. We would highly recommended this park. Some of our friends stayed in two cabins which were near new and very well presented. They were also very impressed with the park.

+1
This was our 1st time away with our new caravan. We pre booked a 3 night package (Fri-Mon) on a powered site which gave us a discounted stay. The amenities were beautifully appointed and so fresh & new! The facilities are fabulous and well maintained. And of course what a location beach to the front and access to another beach at the back. We will be back in warmer weather to take advantage of this stunning location

What a great park!!
The location is perfect on the edge of the peak with a lovely quiet calm bay on one side & a normal beachfront on the other.
The sites are roomy with two concrete slabs to ensure no messy feet inside the van.
The amenities block is the best I’ve seen.. and after some Nat Park camping it was great to have a decent shower!
Can not wait to visit again..

I have been coming to Halifax park with my family for 32 years now, therefore if anyone wants to hear an honest review of this park I believe I am the best person to write it.
This is a beautiful park. It’s well maintained with friendly and helpful staff. The amenities block was recently updated and is a wonderful clean facility. There is also a very modern camp kitchen with a TV and gas fireplace.
One of the best elements to this park are it’s two centrally located beaches. “Little beach” on one side is perfect when the wind is blowing from the east, while “big beach” accessible from the top of the park is best in a westerly breeze. Little beach is best for small children as it’s shallow and very calm. Both beaches have beautiful clear water.
The Park is in a beautiful location being only a short 10 min walk to Nelson Bay and about the same to Shoal Bay. The lovely RSL club is also a short walk from the park. If you like Golf there is a 27 hole championship course just a short 5 min drive away.
My only suggestion would be to add a splash park in for some variety for the young children.
If any young families are reading this and undecided about staying here please do stay.. the memories you will make and the enjoyment are simply too good to miss.
Note: the beach photo I included is from Boat Harbour beach. An absolute gem just 15 min drive from the park.

Booking was positive and efficient experience. The staff worked hard to ensure our needs were met. We stayed in the accessible cabin, which had easy ramp access for a wheel chair. Inside was arranged to provide room to move around and the bathroom had what we needed. The park was clean and tidy and had great amenities. A short walk to the beach and a short drive to the Nelson Bay town centre made for an enjoyable stay.

Very friendly staff, one of the cleanest and well maintained parks I have ever stayed at. Fairly new toilet and shower block which is amazing, clean, and plenty of them. Shower has a separating frosted glass door to where your clothes are, so everything stays dry!! Camp kitchen is large, clean and massive tv on the wall. Kids playground looks good. Access to lovely beach is easy to get to from park. Will definitely come again.

Halifax is a gem of a caravan park almost right on the beach at Nelson Bay. Recently upgraded the facilities are resort quality & the staff first class. The camp kitchen has a huge outdoor weatherproof area very suited to families & groups. Our first stay there but certainly not our last
