The motel is very dated. Our room was very dirty, had not been vacuumed. A few dead bugs on the floor. An ear bud and rag under the bed. Cobwebs in the bathroom. Shower had a leak that sprayed on the roof and dripped cold water on my head in the shower. We were also charged $20 for our 1 year old son, we weren’t provided a towel or anything extra for him and we had our own portacot so did not use the motel linen. Young girl at check in was very nice. Would not stay again.
It's OK for an overnight stop -nothing special. This place has been there forever and remember passing this place as a child on holidays. Though it is probably in need of a makeover. With its spot on the river and the land they could make it into a spot to visit. We booked it last minute on our drive north. Two other couples were there at the same time looking for a last minute booking and this seemed to be the only place with vacancies. Maybe indicative of some of the reviews. The staff that served us were pleasant and helpful. The room itself was relatively clean. Could have been better. Bed was comfortable and everything else worked. For an overnight stay OK. Didn't check the food. Menu looked old fashioned and much better choice in town.
The rooms and service at this place are the most disgusting I have ever encountered! Upon arrival we entered a room that had a strong aroma; the best way to word it would be urine, smelly butts, mould and dampness. Any area that could have a stain on it did, the bedding was covered in hair and pubic hair and the lounge had a sheet over it and the sheet was also covered in stains (something that you’d imagine a feral animal sleeping on). For obvious reason this made me and my partner sick to our stomach’s and we decided to check out. When we went to reception we were met with Melody Ng who had checked us in. I explained the situation and said we would be leaving and wanted a full refund. She just looked at me with a dumb look and said ‘why you leave’ as if my explanation wasn’t clear enough. I didn’t bother sorting out the refund there as I was pretty stressed out as it was Boxing Day and we were 6 hours from home with no where to go. An hour or so after we left I got an email from Melody calling us liars and that she had inspected the room and it was fine and that there would be no refund. I then called to say I had photos to prove what we had saw and she didn’t care. After the call I sent the photos but got no response. I then contacted Agoda as they are the booking agents to see what they could do, they confirmed at a minimum we are entitled to a refund of 3 or the 4 nights which they negotiated with the motel to finally provide us. I was still not happy with the fact I had to pay for 1 night and lodged a complaint with Fair Trading. Fair Trading advised that the motel advised them that the manager Lisa Graham had spoken to us and offered an upgraded room which we apparently declined. We never spoke to a Lisa Graham, nor got an offer of an upgraded room. We were just insulted and called liars by Melody (the website refers to Melody as the host). I am still at a loss here as unfortunately Fair Trading were not able to help due to the businesses lies and it’s not worth the effort to take this further for the sake of $130. Places like these give motels and motor inn a bad name, we have visited a decent amount of motels and motor inns and we don’t expect the rooms to be anything great but hygiene is a must and this place should seriously be shut down and fined! So overall don’t stay here unless you want to catch something, get sick, be ripped off, be treated like crap by the staff and overall want to have a terrible time ✌🏻…
I booked the King Spa suite that says is for up to 6 people. This was more expensive than the standard room. Agoda site says that children are free using existing bedding and that it is dog friendly. I arrived to check in and I was told I had to pay $20 per child and $10 for each of my two dogs. The she said that dogs under 12 months are not permitted and she refused us the room that I had already paid for. I drove around Nambucca and macksville and couldn't find anywhere for us to stay as it was holiday period so I drove home with the kids disappointed. The then had a different worker call me that evening to askWHY I had dent checked in and when I started explaining, she interrupted me as she already knew!! She said to contact Agoda for a refund. I contacted Agoda the same day and they said that the hotel has declined to refund the money. I spoke to the hotel again and the owner said she would give me 3 months to use the credit for a stay, but I wasn't to bring my puppy. So I had to arrange someone to watch our puppy and we booked in, and were charged extra for the kids and one dog. We were downgraded to a small room even though we paid for the king spa in the January holiday period and paid the additional $50 for the kids and dog. We meet two puppies that were holidaying at the motel and the same time and one was only 11 weeks old! We had the cleaning lady walk into our room without knocking just after 8am and then the owner barged in at 10.10am yelling at us that we had to leave!! I thought she had something against us for disputing the extra charges and ruining our holiday but she went to the adjacent room and also yelled at them!! Apart from the disgraceful owner the motel is in a nice location and would be awesome if you bring a boat or canoes. its not nice for swimming in the river as there's rocks and oysters bordering the property. We just used the pool which was nice. If you book, be AWARE!!…
Booked a stop over here to break up a trip from Byron. No other accommodation available. Arrived and it looked ok from the outside. Ate at the on-site restaurant, there was a HAIR in one of the dishes. Also Didn’t finish half of about three dishes so asked for take away, and they threw it away instead. They denied the hair and any wrong doing. They said the manager would come and show us the food from the bin which is a weird way to resolve the conflict. I suggested they just refund us $20 and we call it even, but they didn’t like that idea (bill was $132). 1.5 hours later, I asked them if they were still coming to talk to us and The owner yelled at us for disturbing her (we went to her at 8:34pm when reception closed at 8:30pm )... denying the hair and their mistakes and blaming us for them throwing away our takeaway. The kids swam in the pool for a bit, but so many tiles missing that created SHARP edges. Kid scratched his foot from a cracked brick. Room SMELLED DAMP and gross. Bed covers felt damp. Entire bathroom flooded when showering. Needed to sleep to prepare for a 5-6 hour drive the next day, but I couldn’t as there were so many COCKROACHES. Kept the light on all night as I was afraid darkness would make more roaches roam the room and our beds. Can of roach spray I found n the closet was empty. So many fails in this place. Would suggest staying elsewhere. Also cannot believe how RUDE and mean the owners were! Will be reporting to the relevant authorities. So many roaches in the room, I can only imagine how many roaches are in the restaurant. Never again!…
