Detailed Reviews
Has a NO REFUND Policy if you have to cancel .Takes money out of account when you book. Wouldnt even give accept another date. Very unusual Rules . $50 an hour if late arrival . Attitude by Management not very pleasant to deal with when there is a problem.. Would be better dealing with another motel in this area.

As soon as we drove up to the hotel we were disappointed by location. On the map it appeared relatively close to beach but there are hills and no short cuts.
Arrived a little early hoping to get changed for the beach beforehand but found sign on door saying reception unattended until 2pm for check in.
Returned to reception where argument was ensuing between guest and staff member. Guest was being reprimanded for using the single bed in the room in addition to the double. Apparently this is because on the phone when he booked he'd only said he only needed one bed and now sheets on both beds needed to be changed. Very odd and customer was remarkably reasonable indicating he wouldn't have used it if he'd known he'd be charged more.
There are numerous rules plastered all around the room (but not the one about using the other bed in the room) including one that says there is a $20 fee if you don't clean your coffee mug etc as it's not part of the room fee. Fridge turned off on arrival which is a but inconvenient when you want to use it straight away. Also dial was broken so couldn't adjust temperature.
Very old but clean. Most of all the location is the biggest negative.
It's a shame none if the other hotels near the beach came up in my search initially such as the Beach House, Dolphins and many many more.
Pool was nice!

The location is good, clean room but uncomfortable bed. Upon check in we mentioned it was our honeymoon road trip, the owner tried to upsell to the rooms above with balcony, it would’ve been nice to just comp upgrade us since none of them are being used on a Thursday night. I didn’t particularly agree with the $50 hold on my credit card as we have been travelling and no other motel / serviced apartment have asked for more than a $1 pre-auth, it is quiet inconvenient when are you travelling around Australia and getting a pre-auth on every motel, especially they already have your cc on file for room payment anyway - new pre-auth policy and beds should be something to consider for the owners.

Following the devastating fires on the south coast, my wife and I decided to spend a week-end thereto do our bit to help the economy. We chose the Ocean View Motel which is a small older type hotel; one that we wouldn't normally go to.
What a fantastic surprise to find that it was AWESOME. The place was absolutely spotless. Every thing in the unit worked properly, the bed and pillows were comfortable and the blackout curtains worked!
The bathroom was what we would now describe as retro. 10 years ago, we would have called it dated, but now its quite fashionable - it has those old pink mottled tiles on the wall and mosaic tiles on the floor. All are in great condition and the bathroom was far cleaner than many, many of the big name hotels I have stayed in.
With parking, a pool and well kept gardens and common areas, this is possibly the best value hotel I have stayed in (I travel every month for work and have done so for the past 20 years).
Can't recommend this place highly enough.

Stayed here for one night recently & glad I didn’t take notice of other reviews. The receptionist was lovely & chatty at check in, the room was neat & clean, the bed comfortable & as the name suggests there is a lovely view from the balcony!
The room was equipped with kettle & toaster & I enjoyed eating my breakfast in the sun on the balcony watching the waves roll in.
Yes, the bathroom is an ‘older’ style bathroom but the hot water was plentiful & everything worked.
I would recommend this motel to anyone looking for a good room that won’t break the budget!!

When room was booked online it gave me the option on how many adults and how many children. Paid in full online for 2 adults one child.
When arrived i was turned away because i had our child with us. No refund given and very rude and arrogant. Had no choice but to book in ulladulla. $15 cheaper per night and great people with a can do attitude and better place in general.

Please do NOT stay in this dreadful motel. The room is basic and that’s okay but the owners and the rules will spoil your holiday.
Owners have no concept of hospitality - they will lie and be very abusive. Very nasty people.
The worst accommodation I’ve ever had in Australia

The place was nice, clean and lovely view from the balcony. The bed was really comfortable. Staff was excellent, helpful and happy to answer our questions. We arrived little after check in hours as we got delayed on the road. This was no problem at all.
