Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We occupied a family room - two rooms joined and we were perfectly comfortable. We enjoyed the crisp, clean sheets, the fluffy, white towels and the easy to control hot water in the shower. I especially appreciated that everything that isn’t necessary in the room has been put away so no cushions to find a home for and wonder when they might have been cleaned last! It was also clear that someone was going to sanitise the kitchen items so we did leave them in the sink as requested. - a pleasant change. Our room was at the back of the motel - minimal noise and windows and doors to open for the breeze. It was a very pleasant stay and we would return.

First booked this accommodation before Christmas 2020 but due to illness had to cancel- not a problem.
We then re-booked for the end of Feb early March (five nights) but because the room I originally wanted was occupied we were offered a larger room, which included a single bed as well as the normal double for the same price.
Plenty of room to unpack and stow our 'things' out of sight.
Bathroom was spotless and contained quality items. Excellent towels that were changed daily. Bed comfortable and we did not have a problem sleeping.
Order breakfast the evening before and it was delivered to our room while we were out - choice of cereals, juices, bread including GF if required (My wife is GF).
Plenty of off road parking.
Overall we we were very happy with our stay and the excellent service and would not hesitate to return the next time we visit the Southern Highlands

Stayed in the deluxe queen room, during a cold & wet weekend. The bed & linen were comfy, the bathroom was clean & the heater they switched on made the bathroom & room nice & toasty in 7° weather. Made the most of Netflix - & even though I didn’t get to use them the provision of a microwave, kettle, toaster, cutlery & crockery would’ve been great if I’d decided to stay in for meals. Bottles of water, mini milk carton & biscuits for your tea & coffee were also a nice treat. Even though my room faced the main road, I had no issues with traffic noise. The staff were lovely, helpful & welcoming. Great location, only a 10min walk to the main strip with cafes & restaurants (recommend Station House for brunch & Paste Thai for a fancy dinner).

Very comfortable stay. The first thing you notice is the gardens and surrounds are immaculate. The people running the motel were polite and friendly. We arrived on a hot day and the air conditioner has been turned on prior to our arrival. Nice to find a place that still puts value on guest's comfort. The room was on the highway side of the establishment but noise wasn't an issue probably due to the solid brick walls. The room was clean and well-appointed and an exceptional continental breakfast was included in the room tariff.

Each room's beautifully warm bank heaters make for a wonderfully toasty stay during the colder parts of the year. Moreover, the undercover parking area plus the beautiful gardens make this a great destination.

But perhaps the best feature is the wonderful restaurant almost next door, although the lady there who would not fully honor our "one-drink-per-person, complimentary pass", as handed out on arrival, simply because motel staff had written "one guest" on the pass due to my wife staying in our car while I checked in, needs to be challenged for being so petty.

Also, because no breakfast was served due to Covid, the motel's web site promised that a "light breakfast pack" would be delivered to the door in the morning. However, after checking in at 9 pm I discovered that orders needed to be lodged by 7:30 pm. So we actually received nothing. Either an online ordering system or at least some kind of warning on the motel's web site would address this problem.

Nevertheless, it is quite obvious that staff go to considerable effort in order to make this a great place to stay.

We arrived into Mittagong late with our young family after our car broke down. The staff arranged a double adjoining room for us at short notice and made us feel very welcome.

The rooms were very large, very well maintained and the lodge is in a great and central location.

This is a good 4 star country motel; clean, comfortable, friendly and efficient staff, well located to the town’s restaurants and shops.

But the most impressive point is their wifi. It is free and easily the fastest I have ever found in Australia. No derisory 2/4 mps that is the norm in backward Australian motels, who have to be dragged reluctantly into the era that has already arrived in most other countries, or, alternatively, subject to outrageous charges for usable speeds. Full marks to the Grand Country Lodge on this score.

Recent long weekend stay at this long established motel in Mittagong
We had a twin room very comfortable beds and plenty of pillows!
Breakfast was continental delivered to your room, for $10 you had fruit box, cereal, fruit, muffin, toast with jam and yoghurt.
Great position in Mittagong, on the highway but no traffic noise.
Rooms very clean and staff helpful.
Won’t stay in Bowral anymore will come back here!

We have stayed at other motels in Mittagong but never the Grand Country Lodge. We recently stayed for two nights and now wonder why we never stayed there before. It is central, has been refurbished, is spotless, and includes all wanted features and creature comforts. The town centre, with its various eateries, is an easy two block walk away, and the tourist information centre virtually next door. We enjoyed undercover parking, and a continental breakfast each morning. The only complaint was some traffic noise from the old Hume Highway., which our room faced. The staff was friendly and made us feel at the home straight away

A one-night stop on a road trip from Melbourne to Caloundra saw us book at this motel after reading past reviews and we weren't disappointed. We booked directly so had breakfast included in the room rate. It was plentiful and really nicely delivered to the room while we're were at dinner. Room was spotless and the car parking excellent with some longer spots suitable for an SUV with bikes on the back.
Highly recommended.
