The apartments are in a nice location (maybe a 5 minute walk to the nearby beach, as well as being opposite the lake) - I wasn't sure what to expect, as it was a relatively late booking and there wasn't much on offer in Merimbula at the time, but the photos are a genuine reflection of the accommodation, which is great. Whilst the apartments aren't overly spacious for a larger family, there are still 3 BR with 2 bathrooms, and the managers are very accommodating with bedding arrangements. Booking was super easy and Jeanette was really helpful and responsive when we were there. I thought they reflected good value for money.

We enjoyed a few days of respite in Merimbula, a ground floor 2 bedroom apartment. There was a huge bathroom, designed with disability use in mind, so if needed plenty of access for a wheelchair. Walking in the first view through large full windows of Fishpen. This unit has direct access to the walking path in front of the unit. Noted was a comfy bed, and pillows, a big lounge and 2 large chairs with lots of cushions to relax in. A table and chairs outside the front window to sit and eat breakfast while watching the procession of holiday makers, oyster boats, great view in the dusk of the Fishpen across to the lights of Merimbula shops. We could stroll across the bridge to the shops or walk the other way and which led to the beach. A small coffee hut available in the mornings. Fish and Chips and cafe in a short five mins stroll. Great position and the booking was easy, Jeanette was very helpful.

Location was great, right across from water. We had ground floor unit. We could sit outside, have nice views and have plenty of space with grass area in front of us. Also balcony above us provided a little bit of cover in case of light showers. Unit very spacious and comfortable for 3 adults. Excellent amenities. 2 bathrooms is excellent. Car parking space and easy to get to. Not much sound insulation from floor above, so if you have noisy neighbours above who insist on dragging chairs and walking in high heals late at night, you will hear this.

The luxury of these apartments comes from the spectacular location and uninterrupted view of the bay and Merimbula town.
The apartment itself was "nice", but not our idea of luxurious. Reasonably well appointed but if you are staying for more than one or two nights, be sure to take a hair dryer, toilet paper, tea, coffee etc.
Although the apartment promised a DVD player, there wasn't one. On a very wet day it would have been very handy. TV is free-to-air only.
We encountered a couple of issues with the apartment on our arrival and these were attended to quickly and courteously.
We enjoyed our stay in Merimbula but would not stay in these apartments again.

The apartment was very spacious, well designed, and beautifully furnished. It had lovely views across the lake towards Merimbula from the balcony. The shower was amazing and the spa bath was an added bonus. Would definitely book here again.

We recently stayed for 3 nights. Lovely big apartment, close to the town yet far enough away to be really quiet (apart from the occasional aeroplane). Walking distance to the beach and lake. The Fishpen is the best part of Merimbula to stay in my opinion. Highly recommended.

We stayed at Cetacea from the 11th May, we were going to stay a week but our trip was cut short by the state of the unit and the attitude of the owner,we were put in the disabled unit even though neither of us were disabled, upon our arrival we noticed a smell of cigarette smoke (thought there was no smoking), when we decided to have a shower there was a lot of mould on both of the shower curtains and the floor had no anti slip mats which basically was a death trap, the floors, windows and the stove top were disgusting, we tried to contact the owner who was not available for a couple of days but when we finally saw her and we asked her to come and investigate she did not want to come and check it out herself, when she finally did all she was saying was, "i got my top cleaner in", also on one night we went to use the stove which was electric, i have never used an electric stove so we looked in a booklet to show how to use things and the instructions showed how to turn knobs on the right, which we did, when nothing worked we called the owner back to the unit and she proceeded to turn a know on the left (not written in the book), she made us feel like we were bothering her and seemed very annoyed that we called her back, please feel free to view the pics i have here as well and not only will we never go back to Cetacea, we will never return to Merimbula again, holiday ruined. Also the room stated that there was to be an iron and a clock radio, neither was there, was told it would be made available to us but never saw any sign of it.

We arrived to find the manager upstairs -OK- but on doing our usual check of equipment there were some surprises. We are an 'older ' couple who are used to providing for ourselves-but some essentials are expected in a "Luxury 4* Unit" So - no teapot, no coffee plunger in the unit --nor even a few welcoming teabags, coffee,etc---nor even a small quantity of ordinary 'dishes 'detergent. Basic quality towels, dead insects in the light fittings, not a single mat on the large expanse of floor tiles, and a Whirlpool stove! They stopped making them 40? yrs ago. -- and the oven didn't work---but it was clean!! Lady manager said she'd be over straight away when we phoned her at about 4:50 pm Saturday to pay for our stay----she arrived over 20 min later. When I mentioned the teapot etc. I was told that they were available , but people don't ask for them, and hadn't done so for 12 yrs?!!! So why not have one there anyway or at least leave some information in the unit ,and indeed some info about other equipment in the unit, or even about the channel settings for the TV. Not a single piece of printed information about anything anywhere. And insult to injury, when I rang to inform management to inform re the oven I was told that the info must have been taken! As if!!. Would we stay again?..Not likely......................bear39

Apartments have been recently upgraded with new appliances and updated linens. Apartments are in a great location and safe for people with young children as the front has a fenced yard perfect for little children. Easy walk to town, over the bridge and great location for paddle boarding.
