Detailed Reviews
We’ve been coming to the Tween Waters Resort for 20 years but have noticed a distinct deterioration since new management a few years ago.
The rates are extremely high for powered sites and somewhat confusing is the different rates offered to different visitors, this doesn’t make for satisfaction if you have paid the higher rates.
The cleaning of the facilities is hit and miss. For the first few days of our stay the toilet and shower blocks were not cleaned well, In fact on one day they were not cleaned at all. Rubbish bins of used tissues etc were not emptied for days and this was most off putting during these times of Covid. After two complaints at reception the cleaning did take place but you shouldn’t have to complain to get this basic requirement done.
The location is perfect across the road the road from the main surf beach but if the new management doesn’t lift its game, it will lose lots of regular visitors, many of which have already gone.

After reading many of the reviews it was with some trepidation that I booked a twin cabin for seven nights for my friend and I to stay during our recent fishing trip to Merimbula.
However on arrival we meet Laura the lovely receptionist who provided us with all the info we needed, our cabin was spotlessly clean and fresh.
The facilities we used (Barbecue's etc) were well maintained and cleaned daily, the BBQ and Pool area has an indoor cooking area as well as an outside one.
It is true the park is beginning to show its age in some areas but one has to expect this. I understand the new owners are planning major renovations over the next few years which will improve the park's appeal even more.

Stayed the night of 19 November 2022 and paid $170 for three adults and two children in a private raised cabin that sleeps 6 with two enclosed bedrooms, bathroom with spa bath, shower, washing machine and dryer, kitchen with fridge, stove, oven and microwave, living room with two couches, dining table and TV, a large private balcony with outdoor table and chairs, and undercover parking. Cabin was clean throughout. Heated swimming pool in the complex was clean and warm. The park is well situated and only a few minutes walk to the beach. Staff helpful with local information. Recommended and would stay again.

My husband and I have stayed at Tween Waters Holiday Resort before and thought it would be a fitting place to bring our son and his young family to have a couple of days away. Upon arriving at 1.00pm we were not allowed in to the property until 2.00 pm. I get that is when the allocated time that we can access our accommodation and agree with entry and exit times.
My gripe is that once we were finally allowed in to our villa, which was the last villa closest to the road in front of the pool, was disappointing from the get go.
Walking up the ramp between our villa and next door, rubbish strewn through the garden, cobwebs overtaking the balcony and entrance way, I don't know when the cushions were lifted last in the family room, but the lollies and food scraps did not lift my expectations for what else I was to expect. The exhaust fan in the only bathroom had not be cleaned for quite a while, with a significant covering of fluff and dust over the fan, all window tracks were full of dirt, not hard to clean these after every reservation, finally for the villa, the air conditioner was leaking water and possibly needed a good clean or service and the promise of some detergent etc for dishes we were provided with 3 small packets of laundry detergent to wash clothes, nothing for the sink or the dishwasher. Finally, the utensils that were in the villa were next to nothing, no spatula, egg slide or tongs to be able to utilize the other amenities and cooking facilities available.
As we had only booked for 2 nights surely there would be something that should be supplied.
Amenities: we had a 3 year old with us and could not tolerate the toddler pool area as it was so cold, we had to resort to the middle pool with other patrons, where it was at a more acceptable temperature, in my time most patrons gravitated to the warmer pool. The pirate water park and jumping mat was not in operation during our stay.
The WiFi was very hit an miss, and in our unit basically non existent, messages and phone notifications came to us once we left this area, obviously it is a low spot.
For a park that is in the most awesome position, close to the beach, easy walking distance to the CBD, I have to say to be charged a premium rate I would expect better delivery of cleanliness in the villas and in the time we were there all amenities and facilities to be available for use.
I'm not one to give such a negative review but unfortunately this stay left me a little bewildered at the standards that are being offered.

We are Big 4 members and have stayed at numerous Big 4 parks around Australia. Tween waters has been the worst park we have stayed in this far. We booked the 3 bedroom cabin with 2 bathrooms. The cabin is spacious, however the maintenance and cleanliness leaves a lot to be desired for. The floors were dirty, one of the blinds could not be closed, the curtains were full of stains and have clearly not been washed for a long time. The ceiling fans had dust hanging off them to the extend that we had to clean it. There were no spare toilet paper and hardly any on the roll in toilet when we arrived. Some of the towels and bed linen were still in the laundry bag ( clean) but
just dumped on the coach in the
bedroom. The gas barbecue had not been
cleaned for a while and it took us the best
part of an hour to clean it to a standard
that we could actually use it. The road in
the park has several big potholes and this
was tricky when walking with my elderly
parents as it presents a major falls risk.
Furthermore, there are several units that
are occupied by either longstayers or
permanent residents. Given that Big 4 is
suppose to be a family friendly park, it
was disappointing that we had to keep
clear from some of the units to spare my
teenage daughter and elderly parents the
embarrassment of the noises coming
from one unit in particular. Overall a
disappointing stay! NOT the Big 4 standard we are use too!!

The Park is well located and Pet Friendly but that’s about where the positives end. Facilities are old, poorly maintained and dirty. We stayed in a Saltwater Cabin for 7 nights in Nov 2021. During our stay, many of the cabins appeared to be occupied permanently and very few vans stayed on the upper level sites. The water park was closed and the camp kitchen provided no amenities for washing up or cleaning the BBQ's. Being experienced travelers with pets, we are used to Pet Friendly cabins being a bit tired, but not so dirty and poorly maintained. Stained towels, toilet leaked constantly, no TV remote, blood spatter on the curtains and stained furniture. Kitchen utensils should be binned. Luckily, we travel with our own. On departure, we moved the furniture to sweep up after ourselves only to discover built up hair & dirt under the couches, in the AC filter and exhaust fans. Beware, a number of the Saltwater Villas are 2 storey with parking underneath limited to a max 2m high. Not suitable for elderly people or large 4WD vehicles. Park pricing is expensive for poor facilities. Website photos are unrepresentative. We were overcharged on check in and the manager (Lauren) agreed to a refund. It has taken over 3 months, with numerous phone calls, emails and finally a complaint to Fair Trading, but the refund remains outstanding. Buyer beware.

$100 a night is ridiculous fair enough for the Easter Monday you would pay that for a public holiday & even if you got the very last site BUT the park was not at capacity. Also the sites are tiny with all cars just off the road. Which made it very hard to get the van in our little site. Half the washing machines not working & the pool closed for maintenance 1 day. The location is great right next to the beach & a quick bike ride to the town. I rarely complain but feel ripped of paying so so much for a piece of grass & a power point

We paid $190 per night for a two night stay in an inlet cabin. Do not book these cabins they are old and dated and ours stank. Definitely not worth nearly _400 for a weekend. I complained straight away and we were moved to a bigger cabin, I asked for a refund so we could move somewhere else as I was still not happy and the manager advised to submit claim in writing and they would consider the refund. We decided to stay, however I was still not happy. The new unit also stank and I had to open every window and spray my perfume to air it. Towels and linen had the same stinky smell. Curtains are ripped and stained and mouldy in bathroom. No ammenities like tea bags or dish washing liquid and the reception was closed the whole time saying due to covid, however at the time I stayed there weren't any restrictions in nsw. Several lights in the unit didn't work and only one pool was heated. Overall this is the worst Big4 I have ever stayed in. The owners are lazy and dirty and clearly do not care for this park

Not one of the better parks we have stayed at. I think it just needs some attention from management. It wasn’t dirty or anything but the camp sites are small, and mostly concrete slabs. Because of this we found it hard to set up our tent and campsite. Because they were nearly at capacity when we arrived the alternative options weren’t any better. We had to set up our tent along the roadside. The pools were freezing. The laundry has 2 out of 4 working washing machines and none of the clothes dryers currently work. The park is situated in a great spot, just across from the beach and few minutes drive into the town centre. Staff member was lovely through the booking process. Probably we wouldn’t visit again if camping, would recommend the NRMA park on the other side of town, they looked like they had some nice spots for tents.

The park it self is quite nice, but the toilet are not cleaned every day, and when they are only a very a quick clean. Soap holder with soap stuck to it, floors might get a sweep ( mens not done for 3 days.) With covid still around you would think a place that has a lot of people coming and going it would be done a lot better than this.
In my eyes the aspen group has a lot to awnser for. When it was Big 4 it was very clean

Thank you for your inquiry. The portacot can fit in the living area of the islander cabin, but alas, not in the bedroom.
No sorry. BIG4 Merimbula Beach should be able to accommodate you. Sorry for late reply. Shelley
