Our recent overnight stay exceeded our expectations for cleanliness and comfort. Whilst the motel was previously highly rated we were surprised by the quality of the room, particularly for the modest overnight rate.
Upon arrival we enquired about booking a taxi down to Pambula for a dinner engagement and was advised that the taxi service was somewhat unreliable. After making four unsuccessful calls and leaving unanswered messages, we gave up and went back to reception to speak with the managers Peta and Steve. They promptly offered to drive us down to Pambula and then later pick us up after our dinner, all at no cost although we offered to pay. We cannot remember the last time we received such generous and above and beyond service on our many trips. We cannot thank Steve enough for GOING ABOVE AND BEYOND for us. Thank you again.

We had a Queen Suite with a small balcony where you get a distant view of the Bay. The room was updated and the bathroom was bright and cheery. The Queen Bed was firm. There was a small kitchenette...no cooktop so not practical for cooking. The small fridge was over half full with mini-bar items not leaving much room for our drinks, breakfast/lunch items. The long desk and a small table with 2 chairs was a nice touch. There was also a sofa. WiFi was sketchy but if you stepped out the front door it was much better. If you ask the desk clerk they will give you a small sandwich bag with ice in it (no freezer in mini-bar). Excellent Value!

Stayed here before, but had another 2 nights here this week. Reception was good from owners/managers. I was checked in quickly. Nice surroundings, property very well kept. I had room 17, top floor, nice view of lake and ocean. Very well kept room, good bed and shower, furnishing, bedding, sofa all good. Good facilities in room like cutlery, plates, microwave, toaster, two tvs. Good towels. I had room service b/fast each morning, delivered by Peter, on time, hot and good food, well presented. Owners were nice people, quiet but nice, not intrusive.
Motel was not too busy when I was there. Overall very well maintained motel, little bit of road noise, but not bad, 5 mins walk into cbd, clubs, restaurants, shops.
Highly recommended.

We recently checked into the Sapphire Waters Motor Inn at Merimbula. Check-in was quick and the lady on reception was friendly and pleasant. Our room was spotless clean, bright and airy and our balcony had ocean views. The beds were really comfy too, which we find that’s where most motels fall down. This motel is so close to town, you can just park your car there and walk to wherever you need to go. We have been to Merimbula on several occasions, and thus far, this has been the nicest motel we’ve stayed at. I can thoroughly recommend.

The Sapphire Waters Motor Inn is one of several along Merimbula Drive heading into the main shopping precinct of the town. So the location is great as everything is walking distance. We stayed in an Executive King Suite with Spa Bath for $350 per night between Xmas and New Year, so this would be the high season tariff.
The room was comfortably large and the bed and pillows were quite good. The room was a little dated, especially the bathroom which looked like it hadn’t been redone in decades. The wall soap and shampoo dispensers were very retro. One possible advantage of this older bathroom may have been the pre-saver water pressure, which was fantastic. So showering was a pleasure. The spa tub again was a bit old but it worked and overall everything was clean enough. The kitchenette was basic but the fridge was fine. There was aircon but we didn’t need it, with the ceiling fan adequate in this once again subpar excuse for a summer. The staff were friendly and helpful.
I suppose, resorts aside, what could anyone expect from a country town hotel? Not luxurious but still suited the purpose for a visit to the far south coast of NSW at a reasonable price.
The nearby Legacy of India restaurant and the Bar Monti are both worth a mention for tasty dinners.

Sapphire Waters is a very well located motel within easy walking distance of all the major shops and eateries in Merimbula. The room was fairly large although the bathroom was a little squeezy! The mattress appeared to be nearly new, everything was very clean and the tea/coffee facilities were regularly updated. Staff were friendly. The only thing that ruined our stay was noisy neighbours up till 2am!

We really loved our stay, it felt like everything you could possibly need in a hotel room was provided. It was also spotlessly clean and conveniently located in a central position. The room was also massive, more of a suite really with separate bedroom and sitting room, not to mention a balcony, TV in both rooms. I also ordered an early breakfast which was promptly delivered and extremely tasty. It was an absolute pleasure to stay here and I can’t give this place enough praise. Thank you for a wonderful stay.

Wonderful room which had three separate areas - one for sleeping and another with lounge, dining and another bed and a little area in between with tea/coffee/microwave sink. This was a great layout for our little family as we needed somewhere to set up our son's portable cot away from the bedroom so that he could sleep peacefully without us interrupting him. The single bed in the living space was perfect too as I could go and sit there to settle my son to sleep and not disturb my husband or vice versa. Lovely balcony which had views of the NYE fireworks (a lovely surprise I was not expecting)
The pool is great and my son enjoyed his swim. Only downside is that there isn't any covered areas around the pool so it was quite sunny so we couldn't stay too long.
There is parking in front of the rooms ( we were lucky enough to get parking right in front of our room most of the nights)
The motel is in walking distance to everything and easy to find.
Overall, a wonderful stay :)

I have stayed here several times in the past few years. Great loaction you walk to most places in town, eateries, clubs, shops. The owner/managers Peta and Steve are nice people, nothing too much trouble. Rooms are comfortable, spacious and all mod cons. I always go for a top floor room with views. It is a popular motor inn.
The motor inn has high standard and well maintained, I always have ht breakfast to room and it is very good.
Highly recommended. My choice of accommodation in Merimbula.

Reception staff were very welcoming and helpful. The room was very clean and spacious with a great balcony view over Merimbula, Located about 100m from main shopping centre with the water close by. Cost for the night was very reasonable and we would definitely stay here again when travelling through Merimbula.
