Detailed Reviews
Overall we couldn't fault the Coast Resort Merimbula. The One Bedroom Apartment was very spacious, modern, super clean and included all amenities we could possibly need to cook in the kitchen and wash in the laundry. This resort would be ideal for a couple or family who are planning a weekend away or a long summer stay. The resort is within walking distance to the beach, lake and some cafes/takeaway shops. Across the bridge (5min walk) is the main town with pubs, hotels, cafes, restaurants and retail stores. All rooms come with underground parking, there are 2 pools and a tennis court onsite.

If you’re wanting to have a great summer vacation on the NSW south coast you will struggle to find better accommodation than this resort.
In particular the townhouses/apartments that face the lake and the beach are very good.
The location is excellent, great for morning and evening walks along the beach to the lake. It is an easy walk into town so you effectively park your car in the secure garage and leave it there.
The main swimming beach is very close so you can stay on the beach as long as you like and easily return to your accommodation if you need to and return.
....and last but certainly not least, the staff are very welcoming and helpful.

Coast Resort is located in the BEST part of Merimbula for anyone wanting to take a summer holiday close to the beach.
It provides great access to the town centre. It’s an easy, flat, walk over the bridge and most days you can just leave the car in the secure car park and walk every where. We have stayed in apartments with views over the lake, our preferred location, and those that face towards the sea. From this resort you can access the patrolled surf beach or the child friendly lake at Mitch’s Jetty, where you can hire SUP’s or kayaks, or fish or get a fishing charter…
The apartments are clean, modern, well appointed and the two pools and tennis court are well maintained and popular.
The staff at Coast are friendly and helpful.
What more could you want?

Due to the current climate we won't be able to have our stay in Merimbula but based on our experience while booking with Coast Resort, we wouldn't want to stay anyway! We selected the "free cancellation" option for the appt due to being uncertain as to how things would go and it seems the free cancellation was a lie as when we did have to cancel we were charged $100! A fee that was supposed to be exempt. A fee that isn't clearly mentioned on their website or in the "policy". We were also charged the full fee when we booked when the website advised we would only be charged $100 deposit. Apparently only the $100 is charged if you call to book.
When I emailed for a reason as to why we were charged the full amount no one responded, nor has anyone responded in regards to why we aren't getting a full refund according to what we booked for!
Not happy!!

Overall this is a lovely apartment with a great view over the water. It has every facility needed and is comfortably appointed. However, first impressions are very important to me and to walk through the back gate to a weedy garden and a back door that is barely functional was disappointing. Other things in need of maintenance are the dishwasher, the general paintwork and the cobwebs between the verandah floor and the perspex/glass wall on the balcony. Also, for $240 a night, I would expect to have a shower with decent flow, not one requiring you to move around to get wet. Mostly it felt clean but some dirty dishes and glasses and dirty exhaust fans suggest a poor cleaning regime in general. I find it interesting that when renting holiday accommodation like this, the tenant has to agree to legal documents promising to not damage anything and agree to a range of officious rules and consequences but there is no requirement for the owners or managers to offer a level of comfort or maintenance consistent with the asking price. We have all the responsibility but very few rights. There are so many places to stay in Merimbula with great views. Next time we'll try somewhere else.

We stayed in a 1 bedroom apartment which was fully contained with a full sized kitchen, separate laundry with washer and dryer and a spacious living area.
The property has two pools, is directly across from the beach and walking distance from the town centre.
There was a great cafe serving breakfast / lunch / great coffee nearby (Cranky Cafe)
A relaxing stay in a clean apartment which appears to be recently refurnished.
Just a note, the rooms are not serviced after you check in.

We had a exceptional first time stay at this beautiful and well maintained Resort. Everything about it is appealing beginning with "Welcome to Coast Resort Merimbula" when we arrived. The location is exceptional with its beautiful parkland and water surrounds. Its within walking distance to everything. The apartments themselves are beautifully maintained/ clean inside whilst the outside provides swimming pools and barbecue
facilities for all to enjoy. Fully secured underground parking which is also something that we like when searching for a place to stay. All interactions with staff were always welcoming and helpful.
We loved this facility and will recommend to all our friends and families. Thank you

Poor service, unhelpful staff and the hotel not to the standard of the price you pay. Consider other venues in Merimbula. We paid $1250 per night for a 2 bedroom apartment which is quite excessive considering it’s definitely not a 5 star hotel
or a 5 star experience.

We stayed for 10 nights over the New Years holiday period. We were extended family and had 4 units booked in total. We were obviously the unlucky ones. The unit condition and furniture was terrible. The paint condition (especially upstairs) was dirty, scuffed and in urgent need of a re-paint. The furniture was in poor condition, showing obvious signs of wear and tear, and in need of replacement. Cleaning (especially the bed underlays) were dirty and yellow.
These units are not cheap, and we expected better. The other units in our group were much better, although we paid the same price as exactly the same type of unit next door.
The location and facilities of the resort are great. No arguments there.
Now, the management. Poor to say the best. We let the ladies in the office know our comments on check out, and were told that units are privately owned, and that they have no control of this. We fully understand how letting pools work, and this is rubbish. If management are doing their job correctly, they need to advise unit owners, and if they feel as though a unit is not up to standard, it should be removed from the letting pool, and not charge guest several hundred dollars a night for an average unit. If management think this unit is acceptable, then that's just scary.
The lady on the counter pretty much fobbed us off and told us to email the manager. We did that a few days after we checked out. We waited 8 days with no response. We emailed with a follow up, and again no reply.
After waiting another 6 days we called and spoke to the manager. He said he hadn't look at the email, and asked for a summary of our complaint. I gave him a brief run down, and said its best he reads the email, and then get back to us. He ask what we want him to do about it, and what we wanted. We said, its not up to us to ask, I suggest you read our email and come back to us with what you think is fair.
Its now another 12 days passed, with no reply email, no return phone call.
If this is how management deal with customer service, and guest feedback, it will be the last time we return. Beware if you you own a unit here, as management don't seem to care too much about customer feedback. Same goes if your thinking about a future stay.

These apartments are nicely appointed, but are let down largely by the condition of the villa.
Arriving at midnight after a lengthy drive from Sydney, we fell into our comfortable beds.
Unfortunately in the light of day, the condition of the unit could be seen.
Spider 🕷 webs in the corner of the front bedroom .
Doesn’t look like the furniture had been dusted in ages in any of the rooms, which didn’t help the asthmatics in our group!
The carpet throughout, is pulled in places & is lifting up from the floor. Could be a real trip hazard for elderly or toddlers.
Then After an accidental spill on the kitchen, we hunted for a broom to clean up, but no broom!
We did however find a vacuum cleaner..., after vacuuming for a good 10 minutes, nothing was being sucked up! Bag was empty, but when I turned around to see what the problem was, I found that the hose which goes into the vacuum had come out, there was no ‘thread’ to screw it back in, so no suction 😬, them the machine automatically switches itself off 🤔
After a frustrating 20 minutes, mess cleaned up
Coffee marks on the stools in the outdoor setting, and the lounge was so filthy that we all sat on the floor or at the table - it was gross. It def needs a damn good clean!
Every wall in the house is marked/scratched.
At $300/night, you’d think they could do a bit better than this!
Our villa looked a tad tired, and could do with a bit of TLC just saying.
Positives - nice pool, great location !!

You might have a bit of trouble at the bottom of the ramp but what we did was to push the roller door up a bit more manually and squuezed through!
There are no restaurants in the resort. It’s a self catering venue. Fully equipped kitchen in the apartments.
Sorry I don’t know. It is quite a small resort and we were only there two days. Best to do a search on trip advisor and look up the local restaurants.
Hi DeeBee52,
Yes all the apartments & townhouses are equipped with hairdryers.
We look forward to welcoming you to Merimbula.
Both pools were heated, or else we would never have gotten the kids in them. They are not hot like an indoor pool, but pleasant and ready to enjoy!
