Level concrete pads for placing your caravan or camper on to. Small caravan park with sealed driveways around the park. Clean amenities with paper towel. Shower curtain and rubber mat in shower cubicle. Water at our site was undrinkable. The clothesline wasn’t functional because it was small, up against a wall in a secluded area where it wouldn’t get much breeze and had a garden underneath it. Cost was $39/night for a powered site, discounted to $35.10/night for seniors.

We have stayed at this park many times before BUT it has now changed hands. We arrived at 11.30 am and asked about the availability of a powered site. We were told to come back at 2pm or, if we wanted the site now, we would have to pay an additional 50%. Needless to say, we opted to go to Yamba. Not a good attitude from these managers - will not be returning.

Response from Sharon Hearne, General Manager at Maclean Riverside Caravan Park
Responded 11 June 2021
Hi Diana As new owners of the Park I am truly sorry that you were met with the “come back response”. I have discussed this in depth with our managers and can assure you it will not happen again in our Park. My view on the matter is that if you arrived early and the site was vacant you should have been made feel welcome. Many thanks for taking the time to provide your feedback, this is how we improve. I wish you safe travels. Kind regards

This little caravan park is across the road from the river, not on the riverfront exactly. We had site 9 and 10 which I think were the best. They were close to the front. I liked them because they were relatively private and close to the bbq facility (which was spotless!) Amenities were dated but absolutely spotless. Park was very quiet overall. Lovely people. Great owners who worked really hard on the park upkeep. Short walk into Maclean itself and to the fisherman’s co-op. The Maclean market (see photo) was on also so it was good to be close by. I would recommend staying here out of the hustle and bustle of Yamba

Cabin was dirty, our feet were black from walking on the floor, every screen on the cabin had holes so we couldn’t open the windows. When we did open the windows during the day we were infested with ants and other bugs. On the upside, they did supply Mortein. Shower was filthy and rat or mouse poo was behind the couch. We ended up purchasing cleaning stuff just to make the place half decent. We were also came back on two occasions to find the camper van making use of our car park as a dining area. Topped it off!

Staff friendly and the amenities were spotless. Our campsite right near BBQ area and a drive through. Easy walk into town. Small but great spot and affordable. Opposite river walk. Walking distance to fisherman’s cooperative.

Very small little caravan park with very little to no room to spread out under a nearby awning. I couldn't get an email confirmation for my booking despite making 2 phone calls. When I asked for enough room to at least put my awning out, I was put right next to the camp kitchen, which is also right at the front of the small caravan park - so the noise from the road and petrol station were only meters from where I was trying to rest and sleep. I will plan better next time and find something quieter and more specious. Sorry but cannot recommend.

When we had car trouble the Riverside Caravan Park were very understanding and helpful. The cabins were basic but clean and comfortable and a short walk into town. Its the small touches that make the difference, like the way they also give you a small milk for your tea.

After a very long drive, from Wauchope, this little village was welcome respite. What a beautiful setting gor this very proud Scottish town though a little disappointed couldn't find a McLaren or Gordon tartan😊. The caravan park is situated right next to a very busy fuel stop and the filling of tanks in the early hours creates noise and odour. The sites are extremely small and you do feel as if you are invading other campers privacy, luckily we are travelling with friends The amenities are clean and showers good. The camp kitchen is a little lacking. The cost was fair for what it was. Not sure would stay again, only due to size of sites.
