Waimarie offers two, one bedroom apartments surrounded by lush kentia palms less than 400m from your pick of pristine beaches. Our apartments are secluded and private, the perfect place for an intimate couples escape, yet close enough to share on a week away with friends.
Places to stay are graded on a 0-100 scale. The higher the grade, the easier it is for travellers to find restaurants and things to do within walking distance.

Well all the 5 star reviews are absolutely correct! We loved our stay at Waimarie apartments. This was our first time on Lord Howe island and I am so glad we chose to stay at Waimarie. Sharon and Peter are fabulous hosts and the accomodation is beautifully presented and has everything you need. Treated with home baking, bubbly and lots of homely touches to the apartment. The view of Mt Gower from the garden is also simply spectacular. Great find on Lord Howe.

Our hosts Sharon and Peter could not have made us feel more welcome. There were some starter supplies in the kitchen for us and a bottle of champagne.
The apartment at Waimarie was welcoming and extremely comfortable. Fluffy towels, fabulous shower and the most comfortable bed. A selection of books and films are available if you feel like spending a night in.
Nowhere is far on LHI and we particularly enjoyed the walks to beaches and cafes although there is always a lift to and from restaurants available should you need one.
The peace and tranquility felt here really added to the relaxing, peaceful holiday, thoroughly recommended.

Everything about our stay with Sharon and Peter was excellent from the welcome we received at the airport, the tour around the island and insider knowledge, to the apartment and service. Sharon has gone out of her way to ensure the apartment is beautifully and tastefully fitted out and has thought about the extras that will make your stay more comfortable and enjoyable (including providing backpacks, yoga mats, Tupperware for picnics). We will definitely return to stay at Waimarie

The Waimarie Apartments was the place to stay, for both Luxury, full amenities and peace & quiet Our hosts Sharon & Peter were amazing, first they picked us up from the airport, then they took us for a tour around the Island which was just great to get our bearings. The apartments are luxurious & tastefully decorated with all the comforts of home that you would need. It is one of the only places on the Island with Wifi & TV, DVD etc if you choose to have those requirements at the end of a busy day of activities on beautiful Lord Howe Island. Sharon and Peter were so thoughtful, they even booked us a restaurant on our first night as it was Good Friday with limited availabilities, they consider everything that you may need to have a wonderful stay, and you must try Sharon's delicious slices, one of the best we've ever tasted There are only two apartments at Waimarie which are sought after, but if you want to have peace & quiet & relaxation with amazing views of Mount Gower it is the place to stay Thank you Sharon & Peter for making our stay so awesome!!!! It is a holiday we won't forget

Waimarie consists of two apartments set in lovely gardens with a view of the lagoon. It is opposite the airstrip and about halfway between town and Capella. The bike ride into town is not difficult, mostly flat with a few slight hills, but on some days the headwind coming home was a challenge! If you don't want to ride, most points of interest on the island are within a 15-30 minute walk. The airstrip is not busy as there are only a few flights a day and it was interesting and quite spectacular to sit and watch the planes land and take off. My husband and I stayed at Waimarie in late March with another couple and it was a perfect arrangement. The apartments appear modest from the outside but hosts Sharon and Peter have provided accommodation of the highest standard - a small kitchen and dining area, large and well appointed bathroom with high quality toiletries, comfortable bed with linen sheets, small lounge area with entertainment options and a verandah with a gorgeous view. There is a neat and comfortable BBQ area with views of Mts Lidgbird and Gower. The apartments and surrounds are well maintained and spotlessly clean. Peter and Sharon live nearby and were warm and helpful hosts. On arrival Peter met us at the airport and then took us on a tour of the island so we could get our bearings, stopping at a shop and the liquor store so we could buy some provisions. The next morning he drove us into town to the bike hire shop.Every evening they drove us to our dinner venue and the restaurants all provide transport home. If we had needed further assistance or transport Peter and Sharon would have been happy to assist. This was our first visit to Lord Howe Island. It is paradise and Waimarie was a lucky choice of accommodation. I would recommend it to anyone who feels comfortable riding a bike or enjoys walking. People with mobility limitations would be better placed in town I think.

Agree that there are no more superlatives for this accommodation. Sharon and Peter have ensured that their apartments are absolutely top notch, right down to the Heston Blumenthal barbecue which we used one evening. Every last detail has been thought of, these 2 apartments are perfect for couples, friends and family. Absolutely delightful hosts. Highly recommended. We are so glad we chose Waimarie.

I would give this six stars if I could. Sharon picked us up from the airport and right from the start was very friendly and gave us a driving tour of the island to see some of the sites and get our bearings. This was a great little introduction. The accommodation was first class and had everything you could possibly need and then some. Sharon had us at the bottle of champagne in the fridge. There is plenty of room throughout the apartment. It gets this wonderful sea breeze and has a great view from the front porch. Sharon took us down to get our bikes and left us to do what we wanted after that. Sharon and Peter were lovely. Sharon popped past to say hello at some point each day and was never intrusive at all. Thanks to Sharon and Peter for creating a place that felt like home. You certainly made our trip that much better.

My husband and I have just spent 7 amazing days at Waimarie on Lord Howe island. The one bedroom apartments, owned by Sharon and Peter are beautiful, there are so many personal touches, from local artwork, freshly baked bread on arrival, gorgeous body and hair products to every possible item you would need when exploring this wonderful island. The views from the apartments are second to none, they are private, but located close to the lagoon and Blinky beach and a short distance from the island centre. This was our second holiday to Lord Howe and the difference staying somewhere family owned and run was noticeable. This tiny island has a rich history and it was awesome to find out about growing up and living in such a special place. Lord Howe is a must to visit, it is so relaxing and yet there are so many places to see and explore. Thank you Sharon and Peter for making our holiday even more special.

Hi Ian,
Thanks for the inquiry. Yes, we can do those dates1-8 March
The rate is $420 a night, but we are happy to discount to $400 a night. You can check out our website for availability if you wish.
Bike hire is easy, we will take you there. You don't need to book that. Small cars are for hire, but will need to be booked in advance, let us know if you need that. It is a flat, easy walk from our units to the beach, but most people hire bikes .
March is a great time to come.
We look forward to hearing from you.
Kind regards, Peter and Sharon.
