Waimarie offers two, one bedroom apartments surrounded by lush kentia palms less than 400m from your pick of pristine beaches. Our apartments are secluded and private, the perfect place for an intimate couples escape, yet close enough to share on a week away with friends.
Places to stay are graded on a 0-100 scale. The higher the grade, the easier it is for travellers to find restaurants and things to do within walking distance.
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.

Just had the pleasure of a 4 night stay at Waimarie, which I hope will be the first stay of many. Sharon is a caring and attentive owner/host who adds little luxuries and homely touches to an already lovely apartment. Eggs from her own chickens, a loaf of fresh sourdough bread, home made slice, freshly ground coffee, a bottle of champagne and beautiful bedding, linens, handmade soap and high quality bath products all make your stay even more special.
When you can wrench yourself away from all this and walk a few steps away, you will come to your own private BBQ with breathtaking views across a field of contentedly grazing sheep to Lord Howe’s iconic mountains.
The location, 10 minutes bike ride from the village centre, is peaceful and idyllic, in spite of overlooking the airport runway (there were only occasional plane take offs and landings, which I actually enjoyed watching). Each of the 2 apartments on the property are surrounded by lush gardens which provide both a beautiful outlook and privacy.
I highly recommend Waimarie to anyone fortunate enough to be visiting gorgeous Lord Howe Island. Thank you Sharon for making my stay such a delight, I can’t wait to return!

Wowser! Sharon and Peter are excellent hosts with valuable and insightful knowledge of their beautiful home of Lord Howe Island. Nothing is too much trouble, from the airport pick and tour around the island. The apartment was spacious and so clean. The French champagne, sour dough bread, eggs, coffee, milk and even a homemade slice was such a genuine touch to our stay. The bed was comfy and the added extras of yoga mat, beach towels and picnic set made our stay so easy and enjoyable. Drinks on the deck at sunset was spectacular. We will be back!

We just spent a fabulous six days on Lord Howe staying at Waimarie. The apartment is very comfortable, with everything we could need and in a great location to look out at the ocean and Mt Gower. Sharon and Peter are great hosts and we would definitely stay again when we go back to Lord Howe.

Lord Howe Island is a play to unwind and commune with the extraordinary beauty of the environment. Waimarie Appartments are the perfect location for your stay. They are fully self contained, with every little need and comfort perfectly catered for by Sharon and Peter. The appartments look over the stunning mountains on the southern end of the island unlike much of the other accommodation which is further north on the island and enclosed by gardens. It is an ideal location with serene ambiance and atmosphere.

We spent a wonderful week at Waimarie. Sharon and Peter provide all the little extras that you could wish for - transfers, picnic rugs, slippers, bathrobes, etc. Our stay in paradise was better for having selected Waimarie for our accommodation.

We stayed for a week in the peaceful Waimarie Apartments. The apartment was spacious and clean with some much appreciated quality extras (champagne, fresh bread, ground coffee and lovely toiletries in the excellent bathroom!). Hosts Sharon and Peter are generous and helpful while respecting privacy. There is a fantastic view from the front. It was perfect base for exploring the beautiful island. We are planning our return visit!

Secluded with amazing vista. Our apartment was quiet and surrounded by tropical gardens. Peter was available, friendly and very respectful of our privacy. This is the best place we have stayed on Lord Howe. We could walk, ride or be chauffeured to dining options though chose to mostly self cater.

Having spent my 60th birthday in Paris I chose to return to Waimarie to celebrate my 70th. Staying here is like visiting friends. We came back after 4 years to find it was even better than last time. Our apartment contained everything we needed plus extra luxuries to add to the experience. Sitting here in Adelaide on our return it is like looking back on a dream. We couldn't have asked for more.

We arrived feeling tired and stressed and needing a well earned holiday. From the moment we landed we felt very welcome and very much at home. The apartment is very private and beautiful appointed. The many extras provided by Peter and Sharon were amazing. My favourite time of day was sitting in the garden watching the sunset over the water. The views of Mt Gower and Mt Lidgbird were outstanding. I cant recommend this accommodation enough.

Our price in March is $450 a night.
We have no venomous spiders, but do provide surface spray, if required. March is a great time to visit Lord Howe Island.

The rate is $420 a night, but we are happy to discount to $400 a night. You can check out our website for availability if you wish.
Bike hire is easy, we will take you there. You don't need to book that. Small cars are for hire, but will need to be booked in advance, let us know if you need that. It is a flat, easy walk from our units to the beach, but most people hire bikes .
March is a great time to come.
