Due to only available accomodation we stayed here. Signage in kitchen re locking your vehicle & another as to hiding valuables made us feel a little unsafe. The room was dark due to all wooden. Tiny kitchen area but no sink. Had to wash up in hand basin. Hand basin had such a big crack which had been repaired a long time ago that when I filled the basin water poured through thoroughly drenching toilet rolls underneath & pouring onto floor. Fire alarm battery had been removed some time ago thus not working. The lounge was peeling vinyl which when We told management re all the problems was removed & replaced with nothing thus all night only had the bed to sit on. When I asked the cleaner if I could borrow vacuum to clean mess from peeling lounge she placed the vacuum at the door & never vacuumed the room. I was astounded a guest was expected to vacuum. Hole in fly screen door this we had grasshoppers in our room.
Ps. NOT going back.

We had a single night stay over a weekend and I must say the bathroom was grubby, the light didn’t work, the curtains were coming off the rungs and the room smelled of stale cigarette smoke. A bit much for $133 a night. I did mention these findings and I received a refund so I was very pleased with understanding from the manager.
I would stay again as the location is perfect to town, the local pub is on site and you can get hot food if you don’t fancy going into town

Stayed 5 nights and was, overall quite happy with the accommodation, the room was spacious, with a small kitchenette and bar type seating, the bathroom was well set up with a raindrop shower head. If there was anything to detract from the stay it was the minor things of limited parking (4 spaces for 8 rooms), no milk for the tee/coffee provided & a bedside lamp would have been appreciated. As to the other facilities available, the pub is close and with the closure of the bistro the availability of pizza & toasted sandwiches was nice, the laundry facilities however, for the size of the resort were woefully under par, with only 2 washing machines & 1 dryer.

Old tired run down with disgusting decor not cleaned properly. They say refurbished rooms. Where??? We certainly didn't get one. I read one reviewer had a fly screen door to her room, we didn't get one of those either. We had to pay $13.40 for a $6 can of fly spray from the Caltex service station just to be able to sleep in the miserable motel room without dying from blood loss from all the mosquitoes. The ugly carpet tiles on the floor were stained. The bathroom was gross. The fridge wasn't cleaned properly. Only one bedside table and lamp. No chairs, no little table, no pretty staged plants. The ugliest linens I have ever seen in my life. Pretty sure they have these so that you cant see the stains. Free WIFI? Nope didn't get that. No WIFI available they said. They said the storms had knocked out their internet and they couldn't go online to get the codes? Then how the hell were they getting their online bookings?? Never again. My advice...don't waste your money at this place. Should be shut down by the health department.

We stayed in a cabin with a QB + SB. The mattresses were well used and the cabin was very dated. Industrial carpet tiles on the floor.

The sheets and towels were clean. The rest of the cabin was so so. Greeted by both a cockroach and a mouse during our stay. (Lightning Ridge has a mouse plague at the moment. Crockery on the cupboard had to be washed before use (not just a dust wipe off of the top plate, all needed it.)

The air conditioner would be lucky to keep an igloo cool.

Check in and out was hassle free.

The site is walking distance to the bowls club and local cafe. There is a pub on site with a drive through bottle shop.

Overall it met the purpose at the right price.

Thank god it's our last night. Even though we stayed in our own camper the amenities we disgusting. The stench of sewer the obvious drain leaking in front of the amenities would give it away. Let's not even talk about the lack of hygienic cleaning in a run down toilet and shower block. These are covid times ,it's ok to display the signs but let's enforce the restrictions and have hand sanitizer out for use. I seriously doubt if anyone of the cleaning staff had any knowledge of infection control and the correct knowledge of covid sanitizing. Never ever again

We stayed 2 nights here and found the rooms completely adequate, with everything we needed. Given that you are hundreds of miles from any city, we were quite impressed. You need to ask at reception for a hairdryer. It has its own restaurant, a pool and self serve laundry, which was a godsend after a number of days on the road. If you don't have laundry detergent you can get a sachet at reception for 50 cents. The staff are helpful and friendly too. If you want to eat elsewhere the bowling club is just down the road, about a 200 metre walk. The bowlo does regular Aussie meals, pizza and a comprehensive Asian cuisine. Importantly, as a coeliac I had loads of choice, particularly of the Asian cuisine.

The motel unit was roomy and comfortable with a small kitchen area and onsuite. Staff were friendly and helpful. Parking was right outside the door of the room and there is hotel with a restaurant in the grounds which served good quality, reasonably priced meals.

It is close to local attractions.

There was some local noise from dogs and other visitors one night but the motel advised they were addressing the problem.

The staff were very friendly and accommodating, unfortunately we could only get the one night’s accommodation which we were overall quite happy with. The rooms are old log/brick buildings that have a rustic feel about them which suits Lightning Ridge. The room was clean and comfortable, with a small kitchenette and bar type seating, the bathroom was well set up with a raindrop shower head. As to the other facilities available, the pub is close and it’s a comfortable walk to club, public opal fossicking area and only a 2 min drive to main shops.

Centrally located, the motel sprawled over a large area. The rooms were well appointed and of a good size. Parking at the door was convenient and although our room faced the main road there was little noise. On site bistro was good value and overall the entire staff were friendly and welcoming.
