Location was good, walking distance to the RSL which was great because the bistro is closed. Stayed in the apartment, was good but just needs a bit of TLC & maintenance, size of the apartment was great, clean & good value. Just needs a good update/renovation & would be great.

Great choice for the budget traveller. We had a room with a comfy king bed, a single bed, lounge, bar fridge, microwave and toaster. The room was very clean and comfortable, no noise from the hotel. The staff/cleaners were all very friendly. We were sorry to find the hotel bistro is currently not running, as we had looked forward to it. Overall very happy.

The rooms are well kept and well decorated. Clean and modern bathrooms. About a 7 minute walk to the centre of town. There is a pub on site so good for a drink or food. Parking a bit tight as shared with the pub. Good price so well worth using this motel if in Kurri Kurri

After booking direct three days prior with a man who said he was in the bar cleaning cupboards etc. Asked if we had a preference of rooms, my reply was prefer not to have Room 6 because we stayed there three weeks prior for 4 nights and had to pull out the refrigerator each night because it was so noisy we couldn't sleep. We reported it at the time and they were apologetic. This time he said we could have room 8. On arrival after 6 hours of travelling we were informed without apology that they had no record of the booking and the motel was fully booked with a large group. We couldn't find accommodation in Kurri so we went to Cessnock and stayed in a motel. The room size was double that of the Station Hotel/Motel as was the ensuite. It had a comfortable lounge to sit on rather than having to teeter on the end of the bed plus a small table and chairs. Bonus ... the refrigerator was completely silent and the motel was quiet so we got a good night's sleep. For $15/night more it provided a silver lining after the debacle we left behind. In future we will be going for accommodation in Cessnock, goodbye Kurri Kurri Station Hotel/Motel.

The bathroom was flooded and the manager was the rudest person I have ever encountered. I paid for the convenience of an ensuite as I was travelling with my elderly mother was given a $30 refund for the inconvenience a lip full from the manager. If you are of certain generation where you need an ensuite best staying else where. No respect for elderly patrons.

The room was a good size but, the bathroom had not been cleaned, dirty towels hanging on wall, no toilet paper, shower dirty, air conditioner would not turn off, spider webs on windows, difficulty closing and locking windows. Staff member was unable to find batteries to replace air conditioner control. We were moved to another room. This room's door handle was broken, tricky to open. It was half the size of the one we had booked and paid for. The fridge was extremely loud resulting in the use of ear plugs for sleep, cockroaches. Unable to use shower as the door was jammed at the bottom. I contacted management via email, no response. Dont be fooled by photos, this motel is due for an urgent upgrade.

Nice accomodation one they sorted out the booking. It seems that just because you book a room for 4 people you dont always get that, with the managers repsonse being "you sholdnt book online". Well excuse me. She did sort it out straight away. Now the trouble with a motel that is behind a pub and shares a car park with a pub is its gonna be noisey. Bloody noisey. Again though, after a call to the manager at 12.30 AM (yes AM) she did at least turn off the exterior lights to encourage the drunken yobbos to end the party on the verandahs. All i can say to those people is sorry for the noise we made at 730am... ;) Maybe mid week this would be a place I would stay at again, but not on a weekend.
Oh, and if there was a flood, then the pillows would serve as great sand bags - becuase i think they were

Staff were helpful and friendly. However after staying there for six nights returned home to a MASSIVE attack of bedbug bites. A doctor's visit, adrenaline and hydrocortisone shots, a course of oral cortisone, a truckload of phenergan, a week off work,no sleep, thousands of bites and scabs and more than two weeks later I'm still suffering. Never again. Was planning on informing the owners but would probably have been met with a hostile "where's the proof?' scenario, so it's easier just never stay there again.I'll go back to the Kurri Motor Inn next time. No offence to the owners/staff, it's just that the bedbug bites are DREADFUL and notoriously difficult to eradicate,so I don't like your chances of avoiding them.

we satyed over one saturday night after a wedding the noise from the hotel was extremely loud plus we were woken in the early hours by 2 males urinating at the door both extremely drunk the room smelt of smoke and the bedspread selt as well it put the damp on staying in town a extra nights so we moved onto singleton and stayed there. on leaving we spoke to the neighbour next door to hotel they said we have been putting up with this noise for years. the whole street objected to the motel being built there.

Group of 20 stayed for 2 nights (8 rooms I think) in this renovated hotel. Great location & the friendly staff couldn't do enough for us. Reception was closed when we arrived so we had to go into the bar to get our keys. Was a little intimidating as the bar was full of workman who had just finished work for the day but they were very friendly too. Facilities were good. Flat screen TV with good reception, radio with ipod dock, lots of tea, coffee, sugar & milk - more than most motels. Car parking was good too. Meals in the hotel were great value for money. The only downfall was there was no offer of breakfast the 1st morning. We all trapsed up the hill. They must have realised as on the 2nd day, a cooked breakfast was offered in the bistro.
