Only stayed for one night during a weekend visit to Kiama but would happily stay longer.Check in was fast and the staff very pleasant and welcoming. The room was spotlessly clean, the bed was excellent and the hot water was in plentiful supply. The room was a good size ( possibly because it is an older motel) and had a good view of the beach ( it was upstairs). Yes, there is some need for minor maintenance (eg some chipped paint) but it would seem the site is to be redeveloped. by the real estate agents notice. In the mean time I would happily stay there again.

Furniture outdated but pictures show that when booking. Was clean and comfortable. Room had awesome view of beach, clean and comfortable bed. Booked online through a third party 2 hours prior. Has fridge, microwave, kettle. Was only over night stay so was fine for our needs. Close to shops and restaurants. All walking distance.

Very large room with lovely king size bed
Very clean and all facilities you require for a relaxing stay. Lovely views of the beach and surroundings. Furniture was very old fashioned but ok. Could do with an upgrade.

This is almost as bad as it gets. Paying way too much for a very sad looking room. The place has been sold. Everything is in disrepair. The pool is discussing. There is limited accommodations in Kiama they just what your money. Don’t stay here.

I recently booked for a three night stay at this motel and certainly would recommend it ONLY on its location . Great!
As for cleanliness - if you can live with windowsill covered in black mould,, dusty surfaces and the lack of floor cleaning over the three days, then, good luck to you.
Next consideration Service - very poor. After first night came back to beds not made, crumbs still on carpet and bathroom floor showing hair and evidence of occupation, not to mention the area between the shower and the vanity! - this is not a cheap motel but 'boutique' remember ! Second day , supplies not replenished , floors still in same state !
Also your credit card is charged for half the cost when you book and the rest is charged when you arrive - not at the end of your stay!.
Perhaps the 'boutique' referred to the brown furniture - nothing built in here - oval glass topped table and round glass topped bedside tables. No enclosed handing space just a galvanised hook on the wall along with the ironing board also hanging on the wall.
Sorry not even the location saved this one. If I want to see and hear the ocean I will try a cabin at the caravan park, probably better!

This has been our choice of motel in Kiama for 20 years, but no more. When we turned on the air-conditioner it immediately stopped working. When we sat on the bed the bedhead thumped on the wall at the slightest movement. The new manager offered the only other room available on the basis that it was "a little smaller" and a little cheaper. This room was so small there was no space for any furniture, no bedside tables, no chest of drawers, no table, no chairs. There were no soap dispensers in the bathroom, the shower soaps were the size of a twenty cent piece and the hair dryer didn't work. The glass door to the balcony had to be lifted and dragged open, the included continental breakfast was nowhere to be found and the Foxtel programs were a month out of date.
When we tried to speak to the manager in the morning, he had gone out and not mentioned to the receptionist anything about a price adjustment. We were assured that he would phone us later that day. Three days later and still no call so we have paid $170 for a room not worth $70.
We will never stay at this motel again while it is under this management.

please avoid this motel AT ALL COST. there is about 10 motel down the princess highway that are at LEAST 2x better and half the price.

upon arrival we were rudely treated by the manager who rudely informed us that we cannot have any visitors - which is impossible for us because we have a local friend coming to visit us.

the service is also horrible as our room was missing some basic toiletry like not enough soap and etc.

I only spent one night in this motel and then drove about 20 mins down the princess highway and find myself another motel the next morning.

again, HIGHLY UNRECOMMANDED, Think twice before entering!!!

Where to start? The one night stay was a nightmare. Greeted by the woman at reception who was extremely unfriendly and acted like she was doing us a favour. Headed to room which at first glance was dismal. Old old old and run down. Filthy old lounge, greasy curtains, a kettle and microphone stacked on top of a fridge and no preparation area. The bathroom was just gross and old. The hob of the shower is high so if you intend to travel with an elderly person or someone who isn't overly nimble then don't stay here. There are no built in wardrobes just some trashy old wire rack that sits in front of the only mirror in the entire living area so if you need to observe your appearance before heading out be prepared to crouch over the dirty bathroom sink to do this. The motel is in walking distance of the shops and does have a coastal view but none of that makes up for the night I had. Paid $245 for one night in a room for three people- 1 single bed, 1 double. The single bed wasn't used and 3 people had to crowd into one because there was a cockroach in the bed!!! The reason I was watching the TV on the bed is because there was also a cockroach on the lounge. When I moved the lounge out to try to kill it so it didn't roam the room all night I found more larger dead cockroaches. Get a fumigator!! And seal the areas around the power switches because the wires are exposed and you clearly have cockroaches coming through the walls. Also I saw 3 cats roaming around the creepy entrance driveway. I saw them in the morning as well as the evening so they obviously live there too. Just a gross, creepy place to stay. I checked out at 7am just so I could leave. Do NOT stay here. It isn't worth it. Oh and don't expect your room services either. For a place that charges $245 a night they don't service rooms daily so you can expect to use the same towels everyday. But don't worry because they take the time to leave washing up detergent so you can clean your own dishes even if they don't turn up to empty your bins. Never again.

This is a mixed review.

I chose the Kiama Cove because of the location near the surf beach and the expected peaceful sound of the waves.

Sadly this was not allowed to be the case. At 0700 am a contract teenager woke us up outside our glass bedroom door. He was scrapping paint off the metal balcony rail. Simultaneously a man on a cherry picker with some mechanical device began operating on the outside of our other motel unit wall.

Considering we had had a funeral the day before, we 'needed' some peace and quite so my wife got out of bed and chased them off.

Unrelenting, other workers began scrapings etc in what seemed the room above.

Having booked two rooms at the premium price my wife politely advised all the management team that I would be discussing the matter later.

When I went to pay the bill, I calmly advised the manageress that I was disappointed by the loss of peaceful amenity and requested that we negotiate a discount. She implied that it was inappropriate that I had requested some form of compensation and discount. She showed no concern, no apology and felt our loss of amenity was not her concern. When I advised that the workers could have commenced on areas away from paying guests she advised the managerial team were unable to influence the renovations.

The following are some other observations which update some previous reviews:
Yes the motel is in a good location.
Yes the motel is being renovated. Sadly we were not informed of any renovations, resulting in our early morning surprise.
I note the old TVs and the old beds have been replaced. The bed was good, once secured.
The room’s furniture is good quality. It looks as if it was probably sourced from the now demolished Bowral Mercure.
Management are trying to improve the motel, but they should also consider their customers as people and part of the team, not just the income flow. The manageress displayed contempt when I warned her that I would make a comment in Trip advisor if she did not consider the situation. Rather than turn the situation around her comment was ‘Make sure you tell the truth’. I felt no empathy so I paid the full price and left.

Please note, the motel has new management undertaking a significant renovation while still taking in customers at full price. They are obviously very new to motel management. May I recommend some confidential customer feedback be included in their new processes.

I mistakenly expected the managers to be aware of the current market in Kiama and be a little more gracious and flexible. I gave up two $346 rooms at the Sebel which were on an advertised discount of $169 each. And I bet at that price they were not surrounded by early morning renovations.

I am sure the management will soon realise that quality professionalism diverts these situations.

So reader perhaps you could be gracious and give them a second chance. Hopefully management will have learnt from this avoidable circumstance in what is an abnormal circumstance of starting a new renovated venture.

PS. Sadly I did send this reveiw to the owners over two weeks ago to allow write of reply but sadly they did not supply any expaination.

My partner & I have just stayed here for the weekend, wasn't great, dated bathrooms, one very flat pillow per person but for the price we initially thought it was ok.. Checked out, 2 hours later received a voicemail on our mobile saying that they had found a USED NEEDLE in the sink, asking about their cleaners safety & that if it was ours, we should "return & collect it". We returned the call, specifying that it was definitely not ours, and never mind the cleaners safety, what about ours if we had of been pricked from a previous person staying there, speaks volumes for their cleaning service.the manager then said if it wasn't ours, why were we getting so upset for.. Not sure but I don't think she would appreciate being accused of using drugs. Returned to the hotel to speak with the manager, and were told (after the receptionist called an in house extension and spoke to the manager) that she won't be in for another 4 hours. So after accusing us of this via voicemail she couldn't even give us the courtesy of speaking to us face to face.

Absolutely appalling treatment of customers, we will never be staying there again and I will be telling everyone I speak to to STAY AWAY!!!
