Kiama Shores was a great little hotel I spent one night in.
It was roomy, very clean, well equipped and had a modern feel to the place.
The room also had a sitting area with a sliding door to the outside garden and there is a pool onsite.
Adjacent to the place is a cafe that gives guests 10% off their bill and is ideal to grab breakfast on checkout
Priced at mid range it is still reasonable value for money.
The office staff were very helpful -despite my late checkin and very last minute booking.
Kiama itself as a town is quite spectacular and well worth a good look around as well as doing the coastal walk. Plan on spending a few days to explore this wonderful region!

Kiama Shores Motel is well located in the middle of Kiama just a few metres from the main street and a good collection of restaurants. Parking is convenient at the rear of the motel which has a good private swimming pool at the front of the complex. There are some stairs to navigate as most of the rooms are up one or two levels, I am not sure there are ground floor rooms, but the stairs were not an issue with our group who included some senior citizens. The staff were excellent from the time of booking to our checking out and were helpful with local advice and choice of restaurants. The motel is clean and airy with rooms of very good size, ours had balconies and very comfortable beds. It is quiet and you get a good sleep. Internet access was WiFi and fast, complimentary to guests. There is a café on the road level, part of the complex, which serves breakfast at a discount to motel guests and the breakfasts were very good. We would sure stay here again and look forward to returning to explore Kiama and its surrounds.

This motel is in a top spot, within easy walking distance from shops, restaurants, parks and the water. The communication from the motel was excellent, as was the booking process. The staff were friendly and welcoming.
The rooms are large and comfortable.

Because it's a bit old, there are a few things that could do with attention.
1. there's no lift, so access to the 2nd floor was by stairs only
2. the shower over the bath was almost impossible to climb in and out of and was quite slippery and dangerous. Urgent refurbishment is needed to address this problem.

They handled the covid situation well and equipped the bathroom with soaps and lotions that don't require touching. And of course there was limited things on offer in the room, given their restrictions.

All in all, it was a nice stay and I'd choose it again. Recommended.

I was quite shocked at receiving this email to provide feedback after I had already rang to complain about this bad experience....for my son and daughter In laws recent stay at Kiama shores....
Absolutely not happy with all of it from start to finish
Which was reported to the manager jack on the phone today.

On reservation before booking : a phone call to the reception, who stated " the rooms aren't real flash for a wedding guest stay "
Receptionist sounded young, so I guessed she may should not have said this .
Checking in etc : yes ok
Arrival : well I'm lost for words! Check in ok , my son and his new bride finished their reception and hoped for a beautiful stay in Kiama shores, and "mum" who booked this for them as a "gift" for their wedding was hopeful of a " first night together as a married couple " would be relaxing and unwinding
To my discust, I phojed my son to ask him how his night was ...
His reply, didn't get much sleep, people partying and yelling in the rooms near us
Rang reception, but noise continued, rang reception again, then eventually stopped.
Shower kept dripping and making noises , shower was loud in the morning, pipe noises.
Shower door was narrow access before hitting toilet .
Breakfast which was paid for by mum : on entry to Cafe below, we were told, we only had 15 mins to order and eat as there were bookings for breakfast then.
Went to order the big breakfast, was told we weren't around to as it wasn't included , but we were able to order a bacon and egg breakfast with the extras equaling to a " big breakfast "
The breakfast took 15 mins to arrive
And we were looked at constantly to let us know they were expecting bookings

As Jakes mum who booked this for the newly weds , I will not recommend this motel to anyone.

Speaking with " the manager Jack regarding this appalling experience, his reply to this couples sleepless night was " well I had to get up twice after your son rang reception re noise, so I didn't sleep well either "
My reply was " this is your job, your position as manager, to make sure guests are comfortable etc.
His reply: what do you want me to do ?

$335 for one night accommodation for my son and new daughter inlaw as my wedding gift to them, was an absolute nightmare

My request was a partial or full refund for this , my reply from jack was no sorry we can't do that.

I will take this matter further , as it is not right to be charged this much for a restful and disrespected way they wrte treated.

Kiama is a wonderful small town in an idyllic setting, and this motel is perfectly placed in a quiet location in the centre of the town and near the water. Prices are not cheap, as a number of motels in Kiama have recently been closed and converted to apartments, so supply is very limited. The rooms are spacious and well furnished and apparently recently renovated, with a balcony, and with all the usual Aussie facilities, like kitchenette, refrigerator, microwave, air conditioning, tea and coffee making, etc. The motel has a nice swimming pool as well. We only have one complaint. After staying here for two nights, we asked the reception (owner..??) if we could stay a bit longer than the very unfriendly 10 am check out. We got the reluctant answer that we could possibly stay till 10.30… I find this completely unreasonable and extremely poor guest relations. On the day (Monday) the motel was far from full. Also, all rooms do not get cleaned immediately at 10 am, so there is always plenty of scope to allow a few guests to stay a bit longer without interfering with room se rvice, especially as many guests do leave early. Trying to make your guests feel happy and welcome at no cost or inconvenience to yourself should be the number one rule in hospitality, and on that score, this motel failed the test.

Location in the heart of Kiama allows easy walk to attractions & restaurants. The motel has been refurbished and the room has a nice freshness & a good size king bed. A staff member help with luggage on a short flight of stairs.

Excellent location right in the centre of Kiama. We parked the car in the free hotel carpark when we arrived then walked everywhere for the three days we were there. The main blow hole is only about 10 mins walk if you are reasonably fit, a little longer if you want a more leisurely stroll. The room was extremely quiet even though we were right in the middle of Kiama! The only noise was the air conditioning unit :-) We enjoyed being able to walk to the many restaurants, cafes and ice cream parlours. We also liked using the swimming pool and the use of pool towels was a good bonus. Helpful and happy staff too. We would stay again.

My wife and I stayed at Kiama Shores and found the staff to be very courteous and the rooms exceptionally clean. When we left I unfortunately had left my phone charger in the room. Contacted Kiama Shores and they could not have been more helpful posting the charger to me free of charge! Service like this is rare. Well done!

Kiama Shores is a great hotel to stay in for a short trip. The location is great with many cafes and restaurants nearby. The rooms are exceptionally clean and comfortable and the staff are very obliging. We would definitely stay at this hotel again. The walk from the train station is not that far if you are planning on arriving to Kiama by train.

Excellent central location. Friendly and informative reception. Given access to room an hour earlier than arranged.

Initial impression of appearance good (room 205), but cleanliness did not pass close scrutiny. Mould stain in tile grout in shower recess very very bad, despite the tiles generally in the bathroom appearing to have been recently renovated. I have seen worse, but not for $230 per night.

Air con remote had what appeared to have on it small chunk of dried food.

Glass in sliding door to balcony was dirty. Freezer was ice-bound.

It is a shame that lack of attention to such basic issues resulted in overall dissatisfaction with the establishment
