What a great place to visit with the most spectacular views. We also enjoyed dinner cooked by Cam and Dee from Khancoban - memorable - the best steak we have ever had! Cam and Dee also have a food outlet in the heart of the town which does equally as good food. We found the Queens Cottage was a little tired and could do with an update
My brother in law and his wife visited for a night recently. We were going to book also however read the following and the visit is definitely a no go. Their room had threadbare sheets and towels - the room amenities were average. No staff human was seen throughout the stay. Breakfast, included, consisted of bottled orange juice, tinned fruit, bread from the fridge, do we go on! Oh, and the note in the dining room asked guests to wash their dishes. Not what we expected from a B+B at the price charged. Let the tourist beware.
I stopped her for a week with other work colleagues. The location and views are really good, but the place needs updating and refurbished bad. It is like walking in the Salvos op shop and smells like it too. There is a warning I can give you if your thinking of staying here do not go in room 5 or 6, these room smell bad from old dirty carpets and some drain problems in the bathrooms, the owner is aware of this and will not spend and money on the place to get it fixed up. The bedding, towels and furniture are very old and all need changing. This place is claiming it’s 4 star but it’s no star in rooms 5 and 6, I wouldn’t put my dog in them. The other rooms don’t smell but are old. Khancoban is struggling town and good accommodation is hard to find , so this may be all you can get. I would give this place 4 star for location and views and 1/2 star for room except for room 5/6 that should be not booked.…
We stayed in cabin 8, with bunk beds which the children loved. It was clean and heating was excellent. The view was amazing. Had everything we needed for the family eg cooking facilities, electric blankets. Highly recommended.
My husband and I stumbled across this delightful accommodation after being disappointed with the place we had booked in Khancoban on our way to Perisher NSW. It was suggested by a local, thankyou Heath. The rooms are clean and comfortable as is the dining room and lounge area where you can sit back and relax overlooking the Snowy Mountains and the lovely town of Khancoban. It is quite old-fashioned which adds to the charm. The history of this accommodation is of great interest with a wonderful Royal Family connection.
We stayed here for a night, The hotel room was very inviting and very clean, heated pool and incredible view, wide range of breakfast in the dining area. The owners are very kind and even make you porridge! Would highly recommend to others!
We spent a night at Queens Cottage while traveling through the area. They gave us a great room with a great view with a nice deck out the back. The staff were lovely and showed us around the guest's kitchen and where all the breakfast food was. The included breakfast (juice, cereal, toast, etc) was a real bonus to the stay. The room was clean and tidy. They forgot to put out the bath towels but we just grabbed a couple of pool towels as we discovered the missing towels after the staff had gone for the day. All in all a great place Khancoban and we highly recommend the Cottage. Thanks
Stayed two nights in a room rated at 3 stars .The room was clean but smelt very musty and we had to sleep with the sliding door open. The sheets and towels were well passed their use by date especially for paying guests. The view is beautiful but we still thought for $160 a night was very over priced.
This is a great location. The views are spectacular. Our room was spacious and very clean. The bed was very comfortable. The breakfast was continental and it was all there to help yourself. You could take the food back to your room. There wasn't any personal service that would have lifted the experience. It is interesting that there hasn't been many reviews for a while.
Overnight stay in a room with a view- the best view in the valley. Very quiet, large king room. Took a dip in the heated infinity spa pool just before sunset - glorious. Continental breakfast was ample. Lots of memorabilia about the area, and of course the royals- very quaint
