It will be a challenge to locate the cabin the first time especially if you arrive at night. It is about 5km off the main road through the valley. Once inside it is cosy but has way too many signs for everything.
We still enjoyed our stay which was really like a cabin in a caravan park. We really objected to the $40 fee per large bed ($25 for single/bunk) if you wanted sheets and towels. This can really add up and should be inclusive in the asking tariff. It's not made clear in the initial booking and the cabin it not cheap without that fee. Who wants to be making beds when they arrive at a place?
The staff were friendly and efficient and nothing was too much trouble. The golf course is challenging but offers some great views. The fairways are wide and the greens run true. Quite a lot of water to avoid but this course should be on everyone's bucket list.
First offered #5 which might be ok for a cheap sleeping place for 4 singles!! Including 2 bar fridges. Yes it had a nice location and view from the deck. All windows were locked shut and it was stuffy.
I asked politely and was then offered #28 ( thank you) which was much bigger and nicer ( and a different category)but still not what we would expect at a ‘Golf retreat’.
It would seem there is a huge variation in the accomodation available due to private ownership. The booking websites seem to have a variety too but maybe you have more chance of being happy if the photos are true.
We also felt one person ( who did their best) to be receptionist, telephonist and golf pro was not efficient/good and not Covid friendly ( queues in a small area)
Note- take drinking water. What comes out of the tap smells and tastes very strongly of hydrogen sulphide!
Too many variables for us to return or recommend .
Only 2 towels provided, external lights didn’t work which made it unsafe to unload the car. The dining room was very sticky, we wiped it multiple time but that didn’t help, some cutlery and plates were dirty, kitchen window had spider web
Very disappointed with the cleanliness and the experience.
It is unfortunate because we stayed there in 2020 and loved it.
was spacious with a separate bedroom & lounge room. Well equipped kitchen facilities
plus iron & ironing board. Great bush views from the balcony & quiet location.
No room service but that didn’t worry us. Free Wi Fi only in reception area but not the
cabin which was disappointing. The furniture was a bit dated & there was a broken blind, dripping taps & a very noisy fridge. All staff were friendly & pleasant . The
resort is 4 kms from Kangaroo Valley with cafes & restaurants. Location, bush
views & solitude warrant 4 stars but unfortunately the cabin interior which requires
updating rates 3 stars.
The town is a short drive and a good pub for food. The golf course is awesome and challenging and carts for hire.
"We took our own food and used the full size kitchen in the villa so we could enjoy the views and accommodation and didn’t need to leave!"Read full review
"Choose a 2-level cabin high up on the hill for the best views and roominess. These seem to be the newest also."Read full review
