Unpowered site at Jimmys -> fantastic area, will bring the dog next time - didn't realise how close to both bay and surf beaches it was.
Quiet campsite despite being totally full for the weekend - every one really friendly and respectful
Lunch at Mumm's on the Myall, Tea Gardens was a highlight along with some golf at the local Hawks Nest club.
Local IGA, bottle shop and bakery all well stocked with everything we would need and reasonably priced
will def be back with the hound :)

The not good:
Lucky the temp was average 28deg both days. The AC struggled to cool the cabin from around mid morning! You have to basically sit in front of the AC on full to feel any cold.
We could physically feel the heat coming through the canvas sides from 10am ish while sitting on the sofa! God help anyone inside if temp mid 30's!

Nowhere in the "what's included" section of the cabin page did it say anything about a DVD player is available grrr! Annoying!! The local channel/movie selection at night is pathetic! Would have been nice to have informed people a DVD player WAS available in the what's included section BEFORE we arrived because we have over 50 DVDS we could have brought!

The parking spot for our cabin was under a gum tree which left orange/bronze stains all over the white car grrr! Requiring cutting back with compound as washing did bloody nothing! NOT happy!!

The good:
The txt we received indicating the cabin was available early, excellent touch!!

The reception lady, spot on, pleasant, a lovely lady.

Cabin size was pretty good, floors clean.

The king bed, excellent size, huge, my partner wanted to take it home.

Bathroom/shower, both spot on size wise, was clean, good water pressure.

The pump action body wash, shampoo/conditioner excellent idea and quantity available was great!

Kitchen was pretty good, hotplate good it worked, and supplied utensils and variety was great, plates, mugs, glasses etc was great as well.

A verandah BBQ would be GOOD so not to heat up the already warm room lunch time or dinner, we cooked at the pool BBQ!!

Fridge was a adequate size, could be bigger.

TV hmm, quality brand but sound was crap. When replacing get smart TV's so people can pair their mobile to the tv and play stored movies or mirror Stan or Netflix to the tv at night or wet days!

Change the Fluro light over the king bed with a 120cm fan AND light?!!

BBQ pool area was very clean worked very well! A P/P on the post would be ideal.

Pool was beautiful, water was superb! Maybe supervise via your camera on the pump room bloody teenagers doing bombs, and act on it!!

Did l mention the king bed was excellent!

Cheers

Excellent stay in a Tiny Home set alongside the bush, short walk to beach and in a very quiet area of the park. Tiny Home contained everything we needed for an enjoyable short break away. Although very compact they are beautifully furnished and ideal for a couple to stay in.
Staff at the park were very friendly and helpful. The park is located in a beautiful part of Hawk’s Nest and there are some lovely easy walks along miles of clean beaches.
Also lots of birds around the bushland.
Would highly recommend this park.

We had a safari tent, here are my issues with the one we had:
* Air conditioner didn't really cut it, it took a couple of hours to trouble shoot why it was blowing hot.
* Shower water pressure was TERRIBLE, I had to utilise the camp amenities where the pressure was 3 times as better.
* Some form of soundproofing would of been great, all we heard was the guests next door music till 10pm on Good Friday and then again to late on Easter Sunday.

About the park issues:
* Staff that run the coffee van need more support and training, forgetful about mine and other guests orders and too long to make.
* No after hours staff/security that patrol the park from nightfall that ensure noise levels are those that respect the comfort of other guests.
*Some form of protective barrier at the drains near the climbing park, a couple of occasions, balls ended up in the drain and had to use brooms, etc to get them out
* I know this isn't wholly on the park, but between the park and council, invest in raised walkways from the park to the beaches.

Positives:
* The safari tent was well equipped with toilet paper, soaps, dishwashing stuff. garbage bags.
* Playground was a hit with the kids
* Reception staff were lovely.
* Plenty of towels provided.

Fantastic location on a beautiful beach. We stayed in a new Premium Tiny House which was perfect for what we needed and reasonably priced, particularly given it was school holidays. The only reason it gets 4 stars instead of 5 is that we felt the activities for kids was a little limited. Most parks these days have a putt putt, games room, pool slides, etc . Reflections was a little limited in this area. There was a playground outside of the park which our kids played at, but being little we needed to follow them out and supervise them. But other than this small hiccup, it’s a fantastic park. The reception staff were always welcoming and friendly. Thank you!

Although the location is good, we have enjoyed staying at this park for many years but has gradually declined in quality while the fees keep increasing. The amenities are never cleaned properly, the camp kitchen lacks facilities and no garbage bins. I booked for next year at the same time and they increased the fees over 30%. I have since cancelled my booking. I have found many similar parks charging a lot less.

Excellent park to stay in. So much to see and do with plenty to entertain kids, an off leash dog enclosure for the pooches to run around as well as a fantastic dog bath which cost us $16 to do what we usually pay a groomer $70 for! 60m to the beach one side and the golf course the other side. There’s 2 large amenities blocks with laundries that include washing machines, dryers and an ironing board as well as very clean bathrooms, one cubicle had an actual bath as well as a dedicated family bathroom. Whilst they are a little dated they are kept very clean. There’s a large park for kids to play in as well as bikes and trikes for hire. There’s an IGA, cafe and bottle shop around the corner and just a few minutes drive across the bridge to Tea Gardens you can browse the local shops, shop at Coles, have lunch over looking the water or catch the ferry across to Nelson Bay, the skipper will even slow down for everyone to have a good look at the pod of dolphins frolicking in the water. Once at Nelson Bay there is no shortage of restaurant, cruises etc. Excellent bar/restaurant across the road from Hawks Nest Reflections Park with THE BEST mojitos. We had a large site with concrete slab toward the back of the park, wifi was hopeless while the park was full but when most families left the signal was stronger to use outside but no good for indoors where we were, not even our Telstra dongle nor Vodafone mobiles could get a signal inside. Good TV reception though. We paid $315 for 7 nights from 8 April to 14 April so we arrived the middle of the last week of school holidays. Very impressed and highly recommended!

To have a January family holiday at the beach my daughter contacted Jimmys last April to see if there were two adjoining camp sites available so we could have the family together and share our outdoor cooking, eating etc covered area. After several phone calls and back and forward emails she found dates where we could get two sites for five days as long as we took one of the sites for an extra day. We agreed to the dates and the extra day at one site and made the booking, with full payment well in advance (peak rates). We would have tried somewhere else if there were no adjoining sites available.
When we arrived in January we were informed that one of us had been moved to another site. The office person had no idea why and the manager who had made the change was not around. She said we could ask the manager next morning when he was in. This we tried to do first thing, but he refused to talk to us and refused to revert our booking to what we originally had. After persisting we found the change had been made 3 weeks before, apparently to accomodate removals trucks. When we asked why the trucks couldn’t use the road or the adjacent site the officer just said the manager refused to change and there was nothing more she could do.
We stayed on in our different sites because we had no alternative, and noticed that the removals trucks which didn’t come till 4 days later didn’t even use the site in question.
Though the office staff did their best, we were treated with contempt by the manager.

If there is an unexpected need to move a site booking, common courtesy would demand that we be contacted with an explanation and apology and given the option to get a refund or some alternative offset. There was none of this from Jimmys. So beware all who book specific or adjoining camp sites at Jimmy’s, you don’t know what you will end up with and don’t expect communication!

My accommodation was in a Tiny house which was true to its name “tiny” but perfectly formed and had everything you would need or want, and positioned at the back of the property, only around 200 metres walk through the National park forest on a well travelled track, to Jimmy’s Beach. Really well positioned, as the park was very busy with children being school holidays, was pleasantly surprised at how quiet and peaceful it was - exactly what I was after for my 5 night stay! Beautiful landscape, great facilities wonderful wildlife and dog friendly.
Only two improvements, park WIFI was literally non-operational regardless of where you were in the park, so perhaps signal boosters could be explored. And the bed was quite uncomfortable, perhaps a more firm back support mattress could be purchased.
Look forward to visiting again - would recommend the park and the surrounding area for a wonderfully regenerating beach side escape ❤️

We stayed for 3 nights on a powered site, we were given a site in between two cabins which gave us a little shade in the morning then was in full sun for the rest of the day which got a bit hot. The unpowered sites in my opinion were in a nicer area and I’d do that next time. The Park has great facilities with a fridge, microwave, basins to wash up in and kids spiderweb playground inside the park with another playground just outside. The beaches on both sides are lovely, a short walk away to both and 10min away there is a Coles supermarket. My kids loved being able to ride around the park as people are aware there are plenty of kids on the road and go very slowly. We felt like we had plenty of room even though it was quite busy. One drawback was the lack of cleaned amenities, I think they get cleaned only daily which perhaps need reviewing. Would go back again. The pedal powered bikes were great fun and good value!
