Detailed Reviews
We were fortunate enough to stay in one of the new cabins. It was extremely clean, comfortable and very modern. The cabins were very well equipped, including a dishwasher and large fridge freezer. If you plan on cooking, you will need to bring paper towels, oil, salt and pepper, glad wrap and foil. The BBQ was excellent with great BBQ tongs provided. The pool area is very modern and nicely set out with lounge chairs under a shaded area. We were just a short stroll to the beach.

Awesome park. Clean, tidy, well kept amenities. Perfect location very short walk to main beach, shops, golf course, coffee and pub across the road. 10 min walk to Jimmy’s Beach. Great mix of van sites, camp sites and cabins - not a white sheet metal city of jammed packed boomer-spec caravans blocking the sun until 11am. Decent sized camp sites. Very friendly staff across the board. Perfect spot for a relaxed, easy going stay. Good vibes only.

Stayed four nights at Reflections Hawks Nest straight after NSW VOVID19 lockdown June 2020.
Highly recommend staying here. The whole place had a nice feel to it.
The staff were super friendly and helpful. The wife needed to have use of the Easy Access bathroom. She was super impressed and commended a lot of thought went into this amenity, as the room was large and had wet and dry areas.
The whole grounds and other amenities were in excellent order.
The Electric BBQs / BBQ area were super clean and I loved how they have Herbs growing in planters along side.
The Laundry was great commercial sized washers and dryers with non set cycles so you choose to wash and dry according to clothing needs. Irons are available from the office also plenty of clothesline’s to air dry too.
We will definitely stay here again as there is so much more to see and do around this spot.

So very disappointing!!
We were so excited about our little break to Reflections Hawks Nest but unfortunately it was a very disappointing experience.
We booked a Pet Friendly “Superior” Cabin so we could take our small dog with us and at almost $350/night (the cost of a 5* hotel) we expected something fairly decent. As we first entered the cabin we were met with a clean fresh small, and although basic, we were relieved that it smelled clean. That was until we entered the bedrooms. Both bedrooms had carpet which was covered in urine stains. Even worse was the smell. So disgusting we wore shoes on the carpet at all times, and did not allow our dog to enter the bedrooms as we didn’t want her walking on the carpet. During our stay we visited a non pet friendly “deluxe” cabin which cost almost half the amount of our “superior” cabin, and it did not have carpet. Does not make sense to me why the pet-friendly cabin would have carpet when the non pet friendly cabins do not.
We booked and paid for 2 adults and 2 children yet we were given 3 sets of toiletries, all different brands which looked like they had been collected from various other accomodations. The main bed was made up but the children’s beds were unmade. While this was communicated on the website, I did expect that since we had paid extra for the children (even though the cabin was for 5 people) then beds for two children would be made up for us.
The campsite itself was very basic and quite run down. There were no facilities at all for the children and given it was school holidays, we expected there to be at least some form of entertainment provided. There were 4 wheeler bikes available to hire, at $15/hour each which we hired for our children as the weather was not good enough for the beach and there was absolutely nothing else for them to do.
Almost $1100 for 3 nights has left a very sour taste. We will definitely not be back and would not recommend this park to anyone!

Pee booked for 6 nites and wished we had only booked for 1 nite. Over priced as $80 per nite for a powered site, caravan sites mostly small and concrete slabs suitable for 1980 dated caravans. Amenities need a refurbishment as they are also from the 1980 or earlier era, they are not kept clean, toilet paper missing, hot water in showers hit and miss. Management very blasé about the issues, consider the English woman who seems to be the manager as rude, dismissive, unable to effectively communicate in any sensible manner. Many people around us also complaining about her and the condition of the sites and ammenities. Worth $45 a nite max, suggest people go down the road to Reflections Jimmys Beach.

We were very disappointed with this Reflections park. Firstly we had the same issue as Seaside42732112956 with the tree lopping and the noise. We'd
asked for a grass powered site and got a dirt site with heaps of root trip hazards yet there were grassed sites available elswhere. When it rained we had a river through our site and mud. The amenites were filthy and only cleaned twice in the week we were there as were the stinking rubbish bins. Only 3 washing machines available for a nearly full park. As for the office, one of the staff was extremely rude and aggorant and frankly doesnt deserve a job dealing with customers. As for the nightly rate for the what we got and expected out was landish . Maybe, as happenes at most parks, the staff should walk the park and inspect sites , no at Hawks Head they love the A/C and office chairs. Compared to other caravan parks the it was a complete rip off. The whole park needs a shake up. NEVER recommend or stay again.

We stayed here in October 20 at a powered site. The park facilities are basic and aged. The cleaning of facilities is a bit left to be desired. Cleaning of bathrooms did not occur until about 10am and there was dead inspects throughout bathrooms until this time. The site was ok with slab and pet friendly. The beach was just a short walk and golf club close by and a 5 minute walk to nearby shops.
Compared to recent stay at Halifax park Nelson bay I would say this park is over priced and probably will not be back.

We stayed two nights in a budget priced cabin due to being able to walk to Hawks Nest golf course. The cabin was well equipped and clean with a comfy bed and great towels and a good shower - items often lacking at budget prices. Whilst the bathroom needed a refurb the kitchen was new as was the air conditioner. The staff were friendly.
We will stay again although next time will pay a bit more for the more modern cabins.
There are lots of local dining options although not on Monday night. The golf club is open to all and has an excellent Chinese restaurant.

Room Tip: Avoid the local pub across the road from the entrance. The food is appalling and expensive

I am a part of a kayaking group who books this park 2 to 3 times a year and has been doing so for the past 10 years. Due to the recent floods and circumstances beyond our control our kayaking weekend had to be cancelled at the last minute.
I had called the caravan park on the Monday 5 days before out departure and this was the response I got.
Hello Viviana,
As far as I’m aware the river is flowing as per normal, I’m unaware of any issues.
Thanks
Jackie
On that advice I presumed it was all OK as who would no better than the locals.
As soon as I found out about the kayaking cancellation I contacted them at 9.30am Friday morning. After numerous phone calls and emails I finally got a call and they said they were looking into situation regarding whether we could get a refund. At 3.30pm I got a phone call to say that it is their policy and no refund was going to be given. My question is why did it take 6hrs to call me back?????
I decided to go anyway as I did not want to just hand over my money. Got there in the dark. I called management and mentioned that only one bed was made up. Their reply was they only make one bed but provide linen for the other?
All the cancelled cabins had people in them. Lucky them $$. So wrong. You have to be over 6 foot to reach the dishes and the cups were dirty. A fellow a few doors down asked us for a lighter as their stove didn't work.
The place looked more like army barracks than a caravan park. Please take my advise and stay elsewhere.

We were camping and had a powered site which was huge. The facilities were close and great including a herb garden to pick from as you cooked on the BBQ.
It was a stroll to the beach and a great place to eat just across the road. We hiked up the hill to get great views across the bay and along the beach which was pristine.

Hi,
They usually are quite busy in the office. I just tried myself, and finally could only leave a message - I said that you have bookings in October & trying to contact them, also do they have a problem with their phones???? The number I call is 02 4997 0239, is that the one you are trying? All I can say is keep trying. Cheers Jenn
Hi. Unfortunately, we do not have Ensuite sites but we do have slab, grassed or matted sites.
