Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Great motel close to everything. Can't fault the experience from booking to check in to staying. Light breakfast was welcome. It was booked out when we stayed including a wedding party of young guests, but we didn't hear a peep from others staying there. Definitely will visit again.

Very clean, comfortable hotel. Well equipped with frypan, toaster, kettle, crockery, cutlery etc. Thoughtful provision of cotton blanket and heavier blanket for those who prefer not to use a duvet. Gardens and pool area well maintained. Great value accommodation. Would highly recommend.

This motel is in a perfect spot, handy for everything at Hawk's Nest and Tea Gardens, which is one of my favourite places! Our room was clean and had everything we needed, the booking procedure was easy, the staff were smiling and pleasant, the price was reasonable. What more can you ask for?

We have stayed at the Hawks Nest motel on many occasions. For a night, several nights, and even as an overflow for two weeks over the Christmas holidays to accommodate family members. And we always find it the same... Excellent! The motel is quite central and if you enjoy a level little walk it's easy to get to Hawks Nest shops, the main beach, Jimmy's and Winda Woppa beach's, and across the Singing Bridge to Tea Gardens. And to top it all off, Michelle and her staff are always so attentive, accommodating and go out of their way to help. We can't thank them enough.

The motel is in a quiet back street of Hawks Nest yet close to the riverfront and the local shops. It is an old-style motel on 2 levels but has been well maintained and the room was set up very well with a kitchenette and everything we needed for our short stay. We would be very happy to stay here again when we next pass through Hawks Nest.

I support other positive reviews about this excellent motel. While the building is quite old, my room had clearly been recently refurbished and was well maintained. It was also spotlessly clean. It had all I needed: a comfortable bed, good lighting, plenty of power points, adequate bathroom, television, comfortable chairs, a table, air conditioning, insect screens etc. The bed had proper sheets and blankets rather than a doona/duvet, which I don't like nearly as much. The woman at the reception desk was friendly and helpful. I can also highly recommend the nearby Moon Garden Chinese restaurant for dinner.

Room is large with kitchen and patio overlooking the pool. Bed was extremely comfortable and the blackout curtains were very good. They provide lots of information about the local activities and restaurants and cafes. There are buses that will pick up and drop you off from various places in Hawks Nest as well as Tea Gardens. Whilst it is a bit dated, they keep it clean and smells great. Manager is very friendly and helpful

Firstly the staff on arrival were just lovely, they were friendly, smiled and greeted me with warmth. As I arrived in the early evening, (and much later than I anticipated), they asked if I had had dinner etc and made sure I had everything I needed. They accommodated my request for a slightly later checkout the next morning and sent me to my room with a map of the area and where I could get a good coffee and breakfast the next morning. My room was clean and very comfortable. The bedding and decor was lovely and I felt right at home. The bed was great, bathroom adequate and very clean and best of all the complex was quiet in the evening and I slept very soundly. Although I didn’t use the pool, my room backed onto it and it looked clean and inviting. There was a small kitchenette with Little extras provided in my room, tea, coffee, biscuits and sugar etc. along with a microwave, crockery, glassware and cutlery for 2 people and dish washing items like washing liquid, sponge and tea towel. My departure was quick, easy and pleasant. I would definitely stay here again. Donna
