We had to move from the Oceanside hotel into the neighbouring block of units which the hotel seem to manage. We were in the “pent house”. It’s very large, 2 queen beds & 4 bunks so great for the family. Full eat in kitchen and large balconies. There’s a spa which we didn’t use due to water consideration and it has a poor outlook anyway. There is a sauna which we didn’t use.
My concerns are that -the balcony railings don’t look very safe for a unit which is advertised for families. -The master sweet has broken blinds in such a poor state. This bedroom faces east and you have no chance of reducing sunlight in the morning if you wish to.
It’s a great size but it’s the pent house of the 70s so not flash anymore. Worn carpet in the bedroom, old cupboards and paint, poor lighting in main bathroom etc.

My 14 yo son and I stayed for 7 nights over the New Year period. It is nice and close to Bennett's Beach and Benchmark (a licenced restautant not connected to the Motel) is directly underneath. The pool is good. We had a two bedroom apartment with a separate lounge room and kitchen. This isn't pretending to be 5 star accomodation, but you have everything that you need. My double bed was comfortable. my 14yo was very happy to have his own room. Good fridge and enough cooking utensils.
We'll definitely rebook.

We were in a suite with a very large balcony looking out onto the street (bedroom Lounge). Very nice service when we visited during the pandemic. The pool is nice with a heated spa in Winter. The room was nice with a renovated bathroom. The room was not so funky but ok. It had a luxe king size bed with a funky bedspread but the cane sofa was a bit daggy. We had a great visit. It is very close to the beach and only blocks away from a coffee shop and IGA. They also have their own trendy nice coffee shop underneath.

We had a two-bedroom unit. Main with a queen, second had two single beds for the children. There was a new flat screen TV with all channels, Utube, Netflix, etc. The unit had a kitchenette. Fridge, micro-wave, toaster, jug, etc. and utensils for meals. Some of the rooms have views of the ocean which is only 70 meters from the motel. There is also a swimming pool and BBQ facilities. The motel has a restaurant/hotel style attached to the motel. Great food and serves a hugh variety of beers. The food was great some foods are prepared in a special smoker. It also serves the most delicious pizzas. Highly recommended.

My partner and I have just returned from a wonderful mid-week break at Oceanside Hawks Nest. We upgraded to a two bedroomed apartment and couldn’t have been happier. The apartment was clean with a well-equipped kitchen, laundry and a superb shower. I have trouble sleeping but the bed had a new mattress and the sheets were deliciously soft! Kylie at front desk made everything very easy for us and we’ve always found the staff warm and friendly. I wish we had known about this place when our children were younger - with the pool and spa, they’d have had a ball! Couldn’t recommend Oceanside Hawks Nest more likely!

The location is great, close to the incredible beach. But the room seemed grotty, very dated and the chair seat came off and my son fell through, hurting his leg. The rental bikes are all rusty. I was woken up by the windows rattling in the wind and could hear people in other rooms. This place needs a major renovation. I was glad we had only booked one night and we left as early as we could.

I stayed here for one night in a two bedroom apartment. The rooms were very tired and dated, they are in much need of a renovation and refurbish. Staff were friendly and helpful but unfortunately the rooms did not offer a comfortable stay, though showers had lots of hot water available.

Very disappointing holiday. We requested a balcony room when booking 3 months ago but were given a ground floor corner room between the car park and pool filter. Very noisy with people looking in your room when walking past so had to keep the blinds shut. The room was very dated but clean. We left a day early as someone had their V8 engine running at 10.45pm for five minutes so the room filled with petrol fumes.

We stayed here for one night, the room was very ordinary, very old and unkept and not particularly clean. With mould in bathroom, stains on carpets and lounge, Broken tiles, in bathroom, tv wouldn’t sit straight on the Cabinet due to broken leg, coffee table not wiped over from previous guest. Chipped paint and walls, ripped carpet. See pics.

Staff were friendly however the hotel was very tired and in need of some repair. The hot tube room we had was very small and old fashioned albeit clean. For an out of season visit it was very over priced for the facilities they offered.

Newcastle to taree and then there is just a short walk to the Motel
